    What to Expect
Visit: National Automobile Museum of Tasmania, 86 Cimitiere Street Opposite Launceston City Park, Launceston, Tasmania 7250 Australia

The National Automobile Museum of Tasmania has an important role to play in the preserving of cars and motorcycles that have been part of our history. They may once have been work - day vehicles, they may have been exotics. But if they are in the museum, you can be assured they are exhibits that are important to the automotive history, the development of this country, or to our social history.

To maintain such a high class display takes time and money, a great deal of dedication by volunteers, enthusiasts and the owners of exhibits who offer their cars, motorcycles and memorabilia to the museum, this generosity allows everybody to enjoy our history. It is the dedication of these people, the Board of Trustees and the general public that ensures this museum continues to function.

The selection of vehicles was amazing, including how well presented the vehicles and centre is in providing special interest info. Definitely go if you love your machines. They chance over everything periodically, so if you have been before like my husband had, he appreciated the...More

A lovely selection of old cars and motorbikes - some of the cars are on loan to the museum and are still taken out motoring when the owners feel like it. Each car has information about it to learn of its history etc. There is...More

I am not a revhead - far from it - but with an hour to kill in ‘Lonny’, headed here for a look. These cars are sensational. Many are Australian-designed and built, mostly by individuals or companies I’d not heard of. Freed from convention, our...More
