Overview
See the top attractions of Wellington on a hop-on hop-off minivan tour that follows a 90 minute route throughout the capital city and its outskirts. You can hop off at any of the 11 stops to explore points of interest such as Mt Victoria Lookout, Wellington Zoo, Wellington Botanic Garden or the Te Papa museum on your own. Your guide points out sights such as Parliament & Old St Paul’s Church and the Cable Car on this small-group tour.
What to Expect
Start your hop-on hop-off minivan tour at the Wellington i-Site Visitor Centre. Your guide makes a brief photo stop at Mt Victoria, but you can disembark at any of the 11 stops to visit a site in more depth on your own.

View interactive exhibits on Maori culture at the Te Papa Tongarewa, a premier museum, or take in contemporary design at City Gallery Wellington; delve into Wellington’s maritime history at the award-winning Museum of Wellington; discover New Zealand wildlife at Zealandia or the Wellington Zoo; stroll Wellington Botanic Garden; or gaze up at the southern hemisphere in the Carter Observatory’s digital planetarium.

Your ticket is valid for the day of purchase (tickets purchased for the last departure of the day are also valid for the following day), and your driver can tell you when the next minivan will arrive to take you to the next location. If you’d like to check out great cafés, restaurants and shops, disembark at chic Courtenay Place, bohemian Cuba Precinct or the gorgeous waterfront around Oriental Bay. Wellington offers so much to explore, you may not want to leave.

Hi E3523PFrobw, Thanks for your review. Our guides are all very enthusiastic in sharing our knowledge of the Coolest Little Capital with our visitors, and we try and cram as much information into our tours as possible. We recognise that a lot of people visiting...More

Great tour with Robby

You can buy tickets at the Tourist Information Center and the bus departs across the street by the Amora Hotel. My tour started with just three people and picked up two more. Robby was very informative and friendly. I learned a lot about New Zealand,...More

Great driver and guide.

My girlfriend and I take hop-on hop-off bus tours in all the cities we visit and what really makes or breaks the tour is the commentary of the guide. Our guide/driver, Kostas #Gus, was amazing full of interesting facts about each of the areas in...More

Hi robertbl1447NP, Thanks for your feedback. We're really happy your enjoyed our tour! The road layout in Wellington doesn't allow for big, double decker buses so our small 20-seat vehicles were chosen. This also allowed us to utilise driver/guides, rather than relying on pre-recorded commentaries....More

Turned up at 2.45 pm on a summer's day to tour this beautiful city of Wellington only to find that the last bus of the day had departed at 2.30 pm. We were very disappointed as we leave early tomorrow morning. Seems crazy when there...More

Hi ashmike48, Thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you're not impressed with our service. We choose to run our last departure at 2:30pm for several reasons - partly because several of our stops actually begin to close from 5pm. So although the sun...More

Hi, Our tours depart directly across the road from where the cruise ship shuttles drop people at the i-SITE Visitor Centre. It takes maybe 10-15mins to drive from the port. Thanks, Wellington Hop On Hop Off
