About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Maps676382902690 contributionsA fantastic experience.A great trip. Nick our driver and host was very good. He brought the landscape to life. We really enjoyed the star gazing and saw some great sights too. Cannot fault the day or the company.Written 11 December 2024
- W3240HWkarend0 contributionsWonderful stromatolites and pinnacles tourOur guide and driver, Summer, was excellent. So knowledgable about all the sites and about indigenous people’s culture and stories, which made the trip so memorable. This was the only tour I could find which visited the stromatolites at Lake Thetis and I have wanted to see them for many years, so thank you for that. Of course the pinnacles are amazing too!! Huge thanks to Summer and Autopia for a great tour 🙏🙏Written 10 December 2024
- R3993VLsophied0 contributionsPerfect tripGreat trip! Our guide was awesome; she was so friendly and instructive. Perfect organization. The bus was comfortable on top of that. ThanksWritten 6 December 2024
- Sara G0 contributionsA Trip Full of Awe and Wonder! This was an outstanding four day adventure which included so many amazing sights and activities! The Pink Lake, Shell Beach and Kalbarri were awesome! The cherry on the cake though was of course the amazing dolphin experience at Monkey Mia! Just stunning! We were also so lucky with our guide, Erin, who was enthusiastic, friendly and supremely knowledgeable, and our small group of five were in very safe hands with her as our leader! The accommodation was clean and comfortable and although the drives were long, there were plenty of breaks along the way! This trip is a MUST for anyone visiting Western Australia as it provides a fantastic snapshot of what this vast and beautiful country has to offer!Written 12 November 2024
- Richard I0 contributionsSpectacular scenery and interesting stops on the wayWell organised and friendly and knowledgeable guide. Pinnacles are spectacular, especially if you go further afield and away from the tourists and instagrammers.Written 7 November 2024
- klasbertilj0 contributionsA fantastic tour!Last week's 6 day tour was a memory for life. Very much because our guide and driver, Geoff. You could really feel his passion for traveling and guiding this type of tour. He made many stops along the way and had always something interesting to tell. Everything was well organized and we newer had any delays. Not from Geoff, nor from the group members. Our guide did not spare any effort to make us feel comfortable and well informed. In the beginning I was a bit skeptical to the bus. A midsized Mitsubishi that had been in service for a while. But after days trawling I could se the benefits. It was very robust and functional for a trip like this. Small enough to get access to remote beaches etc. Effective air-conditioning with adjustable outlets for every seat, and we could hear Geoffs sharing all his stories loud and clear through the speaker system. In the evenings we all joined to prepare dinner, and afterwards do the dishes. For us, who where the oldest on the tour (all retired) it gave nice opportunities to chat with the other guests on the tour. Most of them in their twenties. We made new friends. Overall the tour was better than expected. And I give Geoff 10/10. More of what we saw and did you can read about in the day-by-day tour program.Written 6 November 2024
- Angela J0 contributionsExcellent day tripLoved the whole day. We did a few stops along the way to the pinnacles that were lovely. Summer and Doug were our tour guides and did an excellent job. The information was clear and interesting, especially the star gazing part. Dinner was good too!Written 29 October 2024
- K5580FOcaitlins0 contributionsPinnacle sunset stargazing tour! What an experience! Lead by the wonderful Summer who was so friendly and knowledgeable, the day went by so quickly learning about the different areas of the places we visited from Perth up to the Pinnacles. Loved learning about the Indigenous backgrounds of the area, but also the science behind it too. Absolutely would recommendWritten 28 October 2024
- L2760MEdavidf0 contributionsGreat day out in the wildAmazing day out. Summer our guide was great. I am not sure that it ever really stopped raining all day! Despite the bad weather Summer led us on a great day. Thank you for a memorable experience.Written 24 October 2024
- Wander148193214270 contributionsWonderfulThe tour leader was very friendly and helpful. The tour was wonderful and comfortable. I truly recommend Autopia to be your partner to experience Pinnacles Sunset Stargazing DinnerWritten 22 October 2024
- Voyage392930034210 contributionsBest experience on Pinnacles DessertIm so impressed by all the experience i got. Sama/Summer as our tour guide really helpfull. At first i thought i can play with sand dunes at Lancelin turns out just look put but its okay because it pay off with the view of stars Definitely want to go back againWritten 22 October 2024
- jesscw860 contributionsBrilliant trip from canyons to coralAmazing trip, would definitely recommend! We had Danny for a guide who was excellent- very knowledgeable, friendly, and good fun. The scenery is incredible, everyday bought something stunning. There is a lot of driving (unavoidable given the geography) but completely worth it. There are lots of well considered optional activities (although never any pressure to take them)-I went snorkelling with mantas in Coral Bay and it was one of the best experiences of my life!! Only minor quibble is that this is very much a 5 day/5 night trip if you stay in Exmouth (the same bus returns to Perth for the longer tour)-this is clear in the detailed itinerary but the marketing is a touch misleading. We had a very mixed group-ages teen to seventies but it worked very well. Predominantly twenties and thirties but enough flexibility to suit everyone. I would certainly use this company again!Written 17 October 2024
- Mobile207495106040 contributionsCoastal loop to Monkey Mia via Kalbarri and the PinnaclesHad a very good trip and was able to participate in all the activities. Geoff was a good guide and made sure that I could cope with the walking involved. Monkey Mia was excellent with our accommodation overlooking the sea. There is a good deal of time spent driving as the distances are considerable. The vehicle used was not particularly comfortable and the seats did not recline at all and there were no places to store things on the back of the seat in front. Fortunately the bus was not full so we were able to utilise the empty seats for storage.Written 16 October 2024
- Richard R0 contributionsIncredible experience from Perth to ExmouthOne of the best group tours we have ever done. Geoff the guide & driver was fantastic - worked incredibly hard to make sure everyone was able to enjoy all that the remote coast had to offer. There were long drives but plenty of breaks and the incredible experiences at all the main stops were worth all the driving - sunrise at Nature’s Window (Kalbarri National Park), dolphins at Monkey Mia, swimming with Manta Rays (Coral Bay) and Whale Sharks (Exmouth). We selected the private accommodation (not the shared dorms) and they were all excellent - especially the beach front unit at Monkey Mia. The food was camping style with everyone pitching in to help prepare & clean up. Overall a brilliant way to see the coast from Perth to Exmouth and I would highly recommend Autopia. Thanks Geoff for all your efforts on a great tour.Written 12 October 2024
- T4217KGnickc0 contributionsFun but too pricey for what was provided.I've traveled to 36 countries including Australia with numerous companies and can confidently say that the price point for this tour was much more than the service level that was provided (~$300 AUD/day multishare - ~$600day AUD private) resulting in high profit for the company. Please be aware that the low cost accommodation provided is mixed gender dorms 6-10 people per room ($20-$45 AUD per night) and the high cost accommodation is private room ensuites ($150-250 AUD per night). Please be aware that the meals provided are participation camping small portion meals made and cleaned by the guests with a set menu than cannot be altered, often eating very early or late on the side of the road or outside in the rain/sun/bugs and sometimes without proper chairs or tables ($20-$30 Aus per day). The driver/guide was excellent and very experienced, and I hope they get paid very well considering the tour group of 22 people in total would have provided over $40 000 AUD to Autopia Tours. Excursions provided in the cost of the tour were free or small entrance fee guided tours by the driver/guide. Additional excursions were very expensive ranging from $50-600 AUD. Due to the marketing of this tour, you will be with a wide range of ages and can count on having members with reduced mobility who will require extra time/care. Long drives on a decently comfortable bus but without window shades or reclining seats or overhead storage or much leg room and rarely on time. Just know what you're getting yourself into and if you don't mind paying too much for a basic tour, then this one is right for you. Amazing experiences in breathtaking parts of WA with a group of fun individuals for a rather high price. I understand Australia is expensive, however, this felt like price gouging to a very experienced traveler.Written 9 October 2024

This 7 day trip is amazing! It’s a modular trip, so we started with 24 people (a full bus load) and after 4 days, a few people left, then a few more left on the 5 day mark. However, I wanted to go all the way to Exmouth so I did the full 7 days and I wouldn’t have traded it for anything! The west coast of Australia is something else! Deserts, gorgeous beaches, awesome snorkelling, so much wildlife in their natural habitat and the perfect weather every single day! Our tour manager Carla made it even that much more fun with her cooky Kiwi ways and by giving us lots of historical information in regards to each place we stopped. The included activities were great - sand boarding in Lancelin, snorkelling the Ningaloo reef, hiking to Nature’s Window, hanging out with dolphins in Coral Bay, etc. Everything was awesome and I’d recommend this trip to anyone who wants to explore WA without having to worry about driving it themselves.

Beyond exceeded my expectations!! A must not miss! Our guides Gus and Geoff were brilliant, you fit so much in to the short space of time you have. Highlights were swimming with the whale sharks (a must do), stargazing at Monkey Mia and sunrise at Kalbarri national park. Accommodation and food were perfectly fine, no problems at all. If you are considering this tour it is 100% worth it; great value for money and something I would recommend doing on a bus tour instead of driving yourself, as it is a lot of driving.

This trip was amazing! 🦘 🦅 ☀️ 🐬 🚤🐋🌴🥗🍜🍝🌅🥾
The trip started off with meeting our awesome tour guide, Geoff (who is (also, yes i am too) Dutch, but not less knowledgeable about the country and its inhabitants and nature)! He has done this tour a lot of times and knows all the beautiful spots and goes crazy for dingoes and eagles 😉 (we saw two dingoes and quite some eagles!)
The tour brings you to the outback of the west. I had always considered the red centre to be outback only, but a lot of the west is just as outbackish (aka there’s nothing).
The first two days were a lot of driving but the stops that we made were gorgeous and during the drive I couldn’t keep my eyes off the everchanging scenery.
On day three we went to Monkey Mia. Which, as a dolphin fan, was awesome! Of course the dolphins know they are being fed (only small amounts at a time) but still amazing to see them so closeby! As an alternative for abseiling in Kalbarri (which wasn’t possible) we got the chance to go to the aquarium, which I did and I learned a lot about the different species of fish that they have there.
On day four we were supposed to go swim with manta rays but unfortunately the wind was too rough so they cancelled it. Geoff took initiative in coming up with the best alternatives for the day and also made sure we got the opportunity to sign up for the whaleshark swim the day after if we hadn’t yet! So instead of swimming with manta rays i went swimming with whales, and it was COOL! The swim tour operator was very organised and we got some snacks, lunch and a drink! It was well worth the seasickness 🤫 In the evening we saw the sunset at the lighthouse which was stunning!
Day 6 and 7 were a lot of driving back down to Perth, but again with lovely stops.
Some amazing views we saw are Nature’s window, sky walk (both in Kalbarri), sunsets (almost every night), shell beach, turquoise bay, yardi creek (walk + where we saw wallabies) the stromatolites and pink lake.
Geoff also shared quite a lot of information about the traditional stewards of the land, which i really enjoyed and which makes me want to learn more about their culture and history.
We made dinner ourselves (only the last night we went out to the tavern) and Geoff had breakfast supplies ready bright and early every morning. We always had a filling lunch as well. The food was mostly with lots of veggies (which compensated.. just a little.. for all the snacks we could buy during stops🙊).
Oh and for those with a weak bladder (🙋♀️) there are toilet stops every two hours and if you really need to you can use the bush loo 😉
And also a shoutout to Alyssa who drove us back to Perth safely on the last day, after Geoff had to unfortunately leave tour early because of personal reasons.
I enjoyed this tour a lot, even though the long drives can seem kind of daunting, it was absolutely worth it for the beautiful stops and the swim with the whalesharks! So if you’re wondering whether you should do this tour, the answer is YES!😍
And remember, happiness is in your pocket, you just need to find it (again)😉

I had an incredible experience on this tour - if you're wanting to explore WA's Coral Coast, then this is the trip for you!
Our tour was led by the amazing, Emma, who went above and beyond to make it a memorable trip. Emma immediately made everyone feel welcome the minute they stepped on the bus; she had brilliant a knowledge of WA which she was happy to share and discuss, and a great sense of humour which kept us all laughing during the long drives. Emma's energy and enthusiasm was contagious and definitely helped to bring our group together; I made friends & connections for life on this tour, so a huge thank you to Emma for helping to facilitate that!
Aside from our amazing tour guide & driver, this tour truly allows you to experience the BEST of the West Coast. You'll see the most beautiful landscapes at places such as Kalbarri and then swim in the most beautiful seascapes in Coral Bay/Exmouth. Definitely pay for the optional opportunity to go on the 'Manta Ray Eco Safari', it was a once in a lifetime experience and a brilliant day out on a boat!
There is a LOT of driving on this tour (3000+ KMs in 7 days!) but the driving is broken up really well with regular stops at roadhouses and smaller photo opportunities such as Port Gregory's Pink Lake, Eagle Bluff & Shell Beach. The bus was comfortable with powerful A/C and the bluetooth function meant we could all connect our phones, so had great music playing the majority of the time.
You prepare / cook the majority of the lunches & dinners as a group, so be prepared to get stuck in! The food is basic but yummy, and the experience of cooking food together really helped to bring the tour group together.
Overall, this was an amazing week and definitely a highlight of my time in Australia. Thank you Emma & Autopia Tours!

Thank you so much for such kind words about the Perth to Exmouth tour and most importantly about Emma!
We're glad to know you enjoyed the tour to the fullest, that is indeed the trip of a lifetime in such a remote part of Australia.
Definitely an unforgettable adventure :)
Hope to see you again very soon on another tour!

What a great road trip we had from Perth to Exmouth and back , incorporating Kalbarri, Monkey Mia , Coral Bay and the amazing Ningaloo Reef. We absolutely lucked in with our sensational guide Summar who as a solo guide was absolutely brilliant and a fantastic representative for Autopia Tours. Summar, as well as driving nearly 3000km in 7 days, also catered, organised, guided and did what needed to be done to ensure the tour was as memorable as it was. Everything Autopia promised in this tour Summar delivered in spades. And all delivered with a smile and super friendly attitude. The group on the tour gelled superbly thanks to Summar's efforts.
No doubt swimming with whale sharks and manta rays was our absolute highlight, and is something everyone should do in their lifetime. It is well worth the bit extra you pay as an optional tour.
Murchison Gorge, the marvellous Pink Lake, the Pinnacles and the amazing sand dunes at Lancelin were other spectacular sights not to be missed on this tour.
I would highly recommend the Coral Coast tour to anyone, especially if they are fortunate enough to have Summar as their guide.

Honestly, this tour was one of the best experiences of my life. Our amazing tour guide Geoff went above and beyond to make sure we all had an amazing time and I feel incredibly lucky to have had him as our guide. Not only that, he was a fantastic driver and managed to not only guide our tour, but drive all the way to Exmouth and back by himself, cooked us meals every day and still had the exited and upbeat energy from start to Finnish.
From watching the sun rise from the skywalk in kinbarri national park to watching the sun set at the lighthouse in Exmouth and seeing all of the amazing wildlife in between. I loved every second of this trip and made some very food friends along the way.
We got to swim with mantarays, reefsharks, sea turtles, whalesharks and tones of amazing fish in the ningaloo reef. We also got to see plenty of humpback whales while out on the boats for the snorkel tours, I highly recommend adding these on if its in your budget.
I would 100% recommend this tour if you have the chance to do it.

Had the most amazing time during this tour. You never know what your guide will be like and you have to be lucky, but damn we got lucky! Laura made the whole tour fun and interesting and she even showed us some extra things along the way. She made sure the drives in the bus felt so much shorter by entertaining us with stories, games, jokes and music. We even got the pleasure to sing with her during sunset on the beach while she played the guitar for us and sang us some of her own songs!
The (vegan) food I got during this tour was outstanding and from a level some other tours never reached. Just do yourself a favor and book this tour: you won’t regret it! While you are on the tour (if you are lucky enough to have Laura as a guide) don’t forget to ask her about her favorite fish taco’s.

°•○☆♡Alyssa♡☆○•° Our tour guide made our week easy, informative and fun. Each place we visited was explained with history stories and events and she also has extra books about the flora and fauna you are surrounded by on the tour.
There are plenty of stops for toilet breaks and leg stretching. Also good stops for supermarket shopping and snacks. Our bus was comfortable but i could have packed much lighter than i did. You dont need a pillow or sleeping bag with you.
If you are happy sitting in a bus looking out the window for hours, I highly recommend this tour.
You cover alot of ground and it's alot of driving which might not be for people who can't sit for too long.
All the stops were stunning, you really cover the most beautiful parts of the north west coast on this tour.
Alyssa did alot of work to keep everything running smoothly and on time each day and I was in awe of the amount of organization she had with 22 people in tow. She was a really awesome person to be lead by. Thanks so much for an amazing week Alyssa ♡

Positives. The sights on tour were amazing and Autopia crammed a lot into seven days and we learnt and saw more of WA than one could have imagined. Our guide/driver Geoff is five stars and an asset to his company especially as he drove 3,500 kms plus then bought food and prepared the meals with help from a few of us customers. He also changed the inner tyre of the rear double wheel in the hot middle of nowhere when we broke down.
Negatives. The poor accommodation was not what we paid extra for. The Vehicle was well past it's best and I would recommend buying a more modern one (even second hand) with more knee room, thicker and reclining seats - none of which we had. I'm 168cms and my knees were wedged - anyone else had to suffer. Bear this in mind as the last day but one is 900kms.
Verdict. Great trip for young backpackers.

We booked the trip wanting to see the Whale Sharks and by the end had seen and experienced so much more, due in a large part to our guide Geoff. He never stopped the whole 5 days we were with him up to Exmouth, making the trip run smoothly and putting a lot in to it, he always went that extra bit to make sure we had the full experience - stopping to see the Wedge tailed eagles on the side of the road, photos with the beware kangaroos sign, and enjoying to the full sunsets and sunrises. The add-ons were all excellent and we never thought we would see the Whale Sharks up so close. The range and amount of marine life that we saw at Coral Bay and Ningaloo was astounding - turtles, whales, dolphins, Tiger Sharks, coral, fish, Manta Rays and Whale Sharks. Col the abseil instructor was brilliant at his job making everyone feel at ease and making for a very enjoyable adventure.

Hi if you choose the double/twin bed option does that mean you get your own room for the entire trip? As I’m a solo traveller so would like own room if possible?
Thanks
Amy

I have a whale shark tour already booked. Can I do my booked tour once we hit Exmouth?

Hi, is life vest available for non-swimmers in order to be able to join the snorkelling activity?

Hello, if I'm most looking for swimming with manta rays, whale sharks, reef sharks or turtles, is November tour better than December or not much different? is there an occasion to have higher chance to see as much of those sea creature as possible? Thank you!

How safe is it to swim in the Ocean/Reef area in the warmer Seasons. I am concerned about the dangerous jellyfish? We are thinking of going over in April this year. Is it something that we need to be concerned about if we only went as far as Ningaloo Reef and no higher?
Appreciate any feedback,
Cheers Mary

Hi Mary, the dangerous jellyfish you are probably referring to are only found in the tropics. Eg Broome north all around the top of WA,NT to about Rockhampton in QLD from about October to April. There is a species of jellyfish called the Kessingia which has been seen at Ningaloo on occasion, and has been known to cause Irikanji syndrome but it is very rare. Hope this helps
