- petercK5910OL0 contributionsHorizontal Falls and Cygnet BayWe did an amazing trip up to the horizontal falls, then Cygnet bay for lunch and the pearl farm tour. Was a great day and Darcy the pilot was informative and kept us entertained for the day. Well recommended.Written 4 October 2024
- AdventureJS46190 contributionsIncredible day and amazing serviceTrip of a LIFETIME!! Our pilot Renz was exceptional, very knowledgeable (thanks for the excellent commentary throughout the flight!) and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best day. The take offs and landings were very smooth and Renz made us feel very comfortable. The scenery was incredible, from Dampier peninsula to the rugged terrain of the kimboltons and then the turquoise-like water of the King Sound and surroundings, everything was great. The nice touch of the photos and drinks were the cherry on top after an amazing day! Highly recommend Air Kimberley if you want a taste of the Kimberley and for providing such a wonderful tour!Written 1 October 2024
- MikeC73030 contributionsAn excellent adventureThis was so much fun, and took in loads seriously amazing scenery. Our pilot (thanks again, Freddie) was efficient, helpful, and regaled us with useful information along the way. He took us around the Horizontal Falls several times to ensure we all got the perfect view. The visit to the Hatchery was absolutely fascinating; our local guide was knowledgeable & gregarious; she introduced us to local marine wildlife & a potted history of the local peoples & this business especially. Don’t forget to have a swim in the warm sea. The flight back along the beach was also beautiful. The plane is small, & close on a hot day, but this is part of the experience.Written 30 September 2024
- emilymF1333GF0 contributionsStunning views, friendly staff, unique experience all round! We had an AWESOME time on this tour! Our pilot, Lachlan, was friendly and knowledgeable. The falls and the coastline were stunning. The hatchery tour - especially saying hi to Myrtle the turtle - was lovely. After having tours cancelled twice (by other companies) we were so happy to have the helpful staff book us onto this one. Ash was great. Being able to have our 2 doggos petsat at the office whilst we did the tour made things soooo much easier, too. Thanks to the office staff on 30 September for keeping an eye on them! Highly recommend this to anyone, especially those with furbabies! 💗Written 30 September 2024
- annavL7120WB0 contributionsWow, what an experience! Our trip was exceptional. The region is truely the “wild west” of Australia. You experience the vastness and ruggedness of the landscape and you get an idea of what it requires to live in this beautiful but harsh environment. Our Pilot, Lachlan, was very knowledgable and went out of his way to ensure we all had an enjoyable experience.Written 27 September 2024
- lordy390 contributionsAmazing day outWe had an excellent full day trip with another couple. Our pilot Daniel was very professional in his commentary, but also very friendly & so easy to get along with. Excellent service from Air Kimberley, right from the time they picked us at our accommodation, till the moment we were dropped back. Don’t leave Broome without such an experience in the air & on the ground.Written 25 September 2024
- jwroblewsk0 contributionsGreat day, put the area in perspective. What a great day, two older couples getting a broader view of the Kimberley. We had driven the area, been around by boat, and this tour just pulled the whole perspective together for us. We had Mia (not Emerly) and she was both a great host and pilot. Most importantly she was professional and very safety conscious. She also led us around the area including at the Pearl Farm, can’t speak highly enough. All in all it was just a great day, that put it in perspective for us.Written 15 September 2024

- trangt7970 contributionsJaw dropping experienceExcellent day trip! You get to see so much and appreciate the scale of the Kimberleys and surrounds when seeing it by air. Our pilot Freddie was fantastic, looked after us and provided information along the way. Professional, engaging, very thoughtful. And Air Kimberley do a fabulous job with logistics, making sure you have the best experience. The whole group really appreciated the little touches which made the day so memorable, if only we’d been able to keep the water bottles. They were great! Keep up the great work offering memorable experiences guys. I hope to return to do another trip.Written 5 September 2024
- LetsgotravelAC0 contributionsAbsolutely fantastic dayWe had an incredible day. This is a well run and well organised company. The scenery is spectacular, seeing the horizontal falls and colours of the vast, unspoilt coastline was amazing. Our pilot Freddie did an outstanding job. He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We learnt a lot from his commentary about the area as we were flying. The tour of the pearl farm was interesting and boat ride to the giant tides was fun. Flying back down the coast you really appreciate the contrasting colours and amazing scenery around this beautiful part of the world. Overall it was just a brilliant day that we’ll never forget. This is definitely worth doing while you’re in Broome. Highly recommend Air Kimberley and their fantastic team. Thanks Freddie for an unforgettable day.Written 4 September 2024

We flew from Broome to Bellburn via Halls Creek with Air Kimberley. Daphne our pilot is as competent as she is beautiful, and took us over the immense canvas of the Kimberley landscape with the greatest care, so we could see everything and understand what we were looking at. From there, with Kingfisher tours, another beautiful and strong woman, Bec, took us into Purnululu and described the geology and story of country, the creatures, plants and culture with an intimate knowledge as if she was describing her friends and family, not just giving us information. Her singing the ancient songs in the Cathedral Dome filled the expanse and transfixed all present. It was an amazing experience that I will not forget.

I was hesitant about booking this trip due to the cost - for a family of four it was expensive but I am so glad we did. Our pilot, Lachlan (snr, apparently although he was only 30) was amazing - keeping us informed throughout the long flight and the bungle bungles themselves were incredible, with an expert guide in Bec from kingfisher tours. The small aircraft wasn’t exactly luxurious but it was quick, efficient and felt safe.
Highly highly recommended.

Flew in a small aircraft with 4 others to Bungle Bungles via Halls Creek with fabulous pilot Ben (B2) from Air Kimberley. Highly knowledge and competent. A really friendly, welcoming bloke who’s a great credit to Air Kimberley. Arrived in the Bungle Bungles to be met by our tour guide Bec from Kingfisher tours, an Aboriginal elder who carried the wisdom of her people and shared it with us. Such a privilege. Highly recommended. A trip of a lifetime.

Absolutely unreal tour! Our pilot Jack was a legend, silky smooth landings, plenty of local knowledge and couldn’t have done more to make sure we had an unforgettable day. The whole staff and crew do a great job of making sure everything is thought of, from the packed meals to a cold towel and ice tea when you land back in Broome. Our local guide at the bungle bungles was awesome as well, perfectly mixing the odd dad joke into his lifetime of knowledge and stories about the area.

Amazing flying over the Bungle Bungles and then walking the tracks. Out pilot was great and provided us with a smooth trip and landings. Our guide was familiar with local knowledge and of course respectful to the local people and what she was able to share with us. We were lucky enough to see some Aboriginal paintings that our guide had not seen before.
Everything was well prepared with lots of water, a packed lunch in Cathedral Gorge, then a nice cheese platter and wine/cold juice at back at the airport. When we got back to Broome there was cold towels and an ice tea to make sure we were fresh.

We did the Bungle explorer with Lachlan as our pilot. It's hard to find words as to how fantastic it was. Logistics wise everything ran smoothly, good communication, on-time and the chicken salad lunch provided was tasty, healthy and very generous. Be aware that light aircraft are smaller and less comfortable than large commercial planes and it's about 5 hours flying time all up. Lachlan did his best to make sure we are all comfortable, but there's only so much you can do in a small plane.
In terms of what we saw, it was just amazing. The flight in and out gave an excellent perspective of the overall landscape and once we were flying over Purnululu it was absoloutely stunning. The area and rock forms are much much larger than I expected. Seeing it from the air before taking the walking tour gave us a good understanding of where we were. Air Kimberley partner with Kingfisher Tours who work in partnership with the local Aboriginal custodians of the area (see separate review). Bec our guide is a local Gija woman and provided a unique experience for our small group of 4. To have a local guide and small group added so much to the experience. We saw the large groups come and go - it looked like they were on a marching tour, while were priveleged to have Bec take the time to tell us about the country and its features. In addition she was incredibly generous in sharing her songs, stories and experiences.

We went with Air Kimberley who looked after us from pick up to drop off. A very professional company with excellent service. Dietary requirements were even taken care of with thought.
The Bungle Bungles are a very sacred and amazing site. It was a very hot day 42 degrees so you do need a wide brimmed hat, I would recommend long sleeves and plenty of sunscreen. I took a hand towel to wet down for the end of the day and would recommend this. Our guide LT or Collier did an amazing job explaining the history and the cultural aspects. He was approachable about any questions we had. I cannot recommend this experience enough and today although tired are still amazed we got to see this special place. You will spend approx 5 1/2 hour overall in a small plane, which the advantage is you get a window seat, the leg room is limited so if you have very long legs ask questions about seating first. The back seat if available on your own would be ok. You will need a reasonable level of fitness to cope with the heat, but remember where you are going, prepare for it and take in this amazing spectacle.

Having just a few days in Broome we chose to fly to Purnululu with Air Kimberley. Our first trip was cancelled due to poor flying conditions but the team at Air Kimberley went out of their way to reorganise for the following day. The flight was great and Will, our pilot, was a fund of great information. Bec, our guide at the Bungle Bungles, was superb. Her welcome to country and singing in Cathedral Gorge we’re highlights of our holiday. Highly recommend this trip!

Very well organized, the staff very attentive & helpful, and not to mention Flynn's piloting of the scenic flight aircraft was flawless - he made sure I was calm throughout some of the unavoidable turbulence, which I was very thankful for as I could see his efforts in making it a smooth & enjoyable flight for me in particular.
On the ground, no words to express how beautiful Australia is - the tour guide at The Bungles was very pleasant & descriptive of the area.
Thank you Air Kimberley!!

Excellent return flight & day guided by the knowledgeable Bec, a Wola/Gija woman who provided a memorable cultural experience. Walking to the magnificent cathedral gorge & stopping along the way to smell the native botanicals was enlightening. The scent from the garibgbaar native bush, lavender like plant, used in womens ceremonies was a beautiful fragrance. Being welcomed to country in both song & water was a special experience and listening to Bec play the clap sticks & sing in the gorge will remain a powerful memory. Daphne, the rocket pocket pilot, was friendly, very competent & provided a safe air flight. Her enthusiasm for flying & the area shone throughout the trip. Plenty of food & water. Highly recommended
