First thing is first. I don’t like heights. I almost didn’t book, because the clarity of English from the person on the phones was very unclear, when I was asking questions that I’m sure certain other people in my position might have asked. When I’m paying $500 per person (2k for my group of 4), I expect clear concise communication. That’s a minimum. So not really the best start, which almost dettered us from booking.
However…..the experience on the day was chalk and cheese. They clearly have staff have are experienced and have been doing this for a very long time. They immediately put my mind to rest and really gave us an unforgettable experience.

I'm so glad to hear that you conquered your fear of heights to traverse the skies in one of our balloons. I don't like heights either but it never worries me when I'm in a balloon. Our team are very professional and we aim for a totally unforgettable experience, so I'm so glad that we were able to provide that for you.
We also feel very blessed to have such a strong multilingual team working for us, and we see it as an asset but we appreciate your feedback on this matter.

Fantastic experience. It was so well organised from hotel pick-up to our great pilot who was so friendly and helpful.
The weather co-operated with a gorgeous sunrise and flying low over the city was amazing.
Such a great experience that very few cities around the world offer.

Amazing experience & run like a well oiled machine. Harry & Scarlett were awesome & explained everything along the way.
Our Yarra Valley trip got cancelled due to the weather, but they accommodated us with the Melbourne CBD Balloon Flight the next day as we were travelling to the city.
The flight was peaceful with amazing photo opportunities & awesome to see how the balloons are setup & inflated.
A great way to see Melbourne, especially if you’ve been many times before
I tried to post a YouTube video of the whole experience but TripAdviser made me take it down (despite it being within their guidelines)

I'm sorry that the Yarra Valley flight did not go ahead but I am delighted to hear that you got to fly over Melbourne the next day.
We really try to make it a exhilarating yet safe experience for everyone. And our team work so hard to be well organised so that the morning goes smoothly. Harry and Scarlett are a great team and I'll pass your comments back to them.

This experience was just spectacular. It was extremely well organised, executed brilliantly and at all times we felt safe and well taken care of. The pilots clearly know exactly what they are doing and ensured that we had a wonderful time.
We knew exactly what to expect, what was going to happen and when and Kiff was also very good at knowing all the landmarks along the way!
I couldn't recommend this experience and Global Ballooning more highly.

Flying over Melbourne with Kiff is definitely a must do as he is legendary in the hot air ballooning world. He started Global Ballooning 30 years ago and now all of his children have become hot air balloon pilots that also fly for us - something that we are so proud of.

After many months of waiting (due to CoVid) we finally went on our Global Balloon flight today. It was well worth the wait!
It was even worth getting up way too early to be at the hotel meeting point at 4.30am. Argh! From there we all drove to a park just north of Melbourne city and started to help get the balloon set-up and ready to fly – all very easy and remarkably quick. We were in the basket and going up just as dawn was breaking – perfect timing.
We were a bit nervous beforehand and on the way up, but there was really no need to be. Our pilot, Kiff, has years of experience and filled us with confidence. After flying for just a few minutes the nerves were gone and all we could think about was the amazing view we were seeing.
The day was perfect and we landed exactly where Kiff said we would without any difficulty or drama.
After landing we packed up the balloon and drove back to the hotel for a very happy breakfast.
Overall it was a fantastic experience. The service was excellent and professional. It was certainly worth the expense as, probably, a once in a life-time experience - although now I’m hooked and would love to go up again! We would definitely highly recommend a Global Ballooning flight over Melbourne to everyone.

We went ballooning on what was the most perfect day all year, and the experience was made even better by the friendly, professional experience we had courtesy Global Ballooning Australia. Our flight had to be postponed earlier due to low cloud cover, and it was super easy to schedule it for later. Updates were given on the app when promised, and the pilot during our flight was friendly and funny. He explained conditions and some intricacies of steering very well to us, and even beautifully managed to ensure some privacy to a couple who got engaged up in the air! It was a mellow beautiful morning over Melbourne, made perfect by the dreamy hour we spent in the air and the lovely breakfast we had after at the Amora. 5 star experience all around, highly recommend this.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel meeting spot, we felt in good, safe hands. The team was organised, efficient and made us all feel happy to be there. It was a special treat for our daughter's 13th birthday, shared by her older brother and parents. The whole process of sending up the weather balloons and blowing up the big balloon was fascinating and fun - but nothing could prepare us for the joy and wonder of floating over our beautiful city on a perfect Autumn morning. Our pilot Steve was so experienced and calm, we never felt the slightest bit anxious. When it came to landing, I was expecting a bumpy experience, but it never happened! Once again, teamwork came to the fore as we helped pack up the balloon - even that was a wonderful shared experience. This is genuinely one of the best things we have ever done as a family, and I would encourage anyone, even slightly interested, to give it a go. You won't be sorry

From getting the balloons airborne, through floating across the sky at sunrise and then packing up, it was a great morning. The pilot was experienced, Rain (organiser) was a delight and everything ran smoothly. It was a really beautiful experience.

This experience was amazing - my partner and I loved every second of our hot air balloon trip! The views and sunrise were spectacular. Kiff was an excellent pilot and I would highly recommend Global Ballooning to family and friends or anybody considering a hot air balloon trip. Can't thank all the team enough!

Today was our first hot air ballooning experience and it was amazing! We met early at Balgownie Estate and then a short drive to the take off area. The whole team were very friendly and helpful and made the day even better. Our pilot, Brian, guided us across the valley as the sun rose over the hills and kept us entertained with plenty of quality dad jokes. Floating through the air was peaceful and inspiring and a unique feeling. Following the flight we were taken back for a tasty champagne breakfast. It was a great day all round.

Hello, You do get a refund if the flight is cancelled due to weather, they will let you know the day/night before, most morning flights are fine as ther is little wind around.
