        Port Arthur excursion
Unfortunately our captain deemed the ocean too rough to put tender boats in at Port Arthur, so we were unable to complete this excursion . I would like to give credit to Trip advisor as all money paid for this excursion was fully refunded. .

        Amazing and highly recommended
This was an amazing experience from start to finish! We were picked up outside our accommodation and travelled by coach to the ferry, onto the island and back again. Our host was knowledgeable, courteous and engaging. We prebooked our amazing lunch at the pub, had the most amazing feed of oysters and visited highlights of the island with opportunities to purchase local produce. An island of natural beauty and a day we would highly recommend. Tassie Tours are a great company to deal with !

Enjoyable tour with a lively tour guide
We were picked up on time with a bus and taken to the Bruny Island and several places of interest ion the Island. Our guide and driver Peter had planned the tour well and we were able to see all the highlights in time. Peter was knowledgable, humorous and helpful with many suggestions to enjoy the tour. The whole day was highly enjoyable.

“Fantastic Tour with an Outstanding Guide!”
Here’s an expanded review based on your request: We had an amazing day, even with my 2.5-year-old toddler in tow! The experience was seamless and enjoyable from start to finish. A big shout-out to our guide, Peter W, who went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt welcome and included. He gave a detailed and informative tour, sharing fascinating insights and fun facts that truly brought the experience to life. I also appreciated Peter’s fantastic sense of humor—it kept everyone engaged and added a wonderful light-hearted touch to the day. He was incredibly patient and accommodating, which made the tour stress-free even with a little one. The itinerary was well-organized, the scenery was breathtaking, and the entire team was professional and friendly. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, whether you’re traveling solo, with friends, or even with young children. Thank you for a memorable day!

We chose tassie tours after having a look around the information centre in Hobart. The day was fantastic to begin with! We were picked up from our hotel, our guide was super friendly and full of awesome information. Our tour group was small only 6 of us (my partner and I being the youngest, mid 20s) but we all had such an awesome time! We started with Mt Wellington as it was a clear morning, our guide was right onto it and drove is up before all the other major groups. From Mt Wellington we travelled down into Hobart for a tour round the city with a quick detour past Cascades Brewery. From Hobart we went to on to Richmond, you stop at Wicked Cheese and oh my goodness that place is very yum, then head onto Richmond, we spent an hour there having lunch and a look around then onto Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, that is an extra cost but is for a great cause. You get to feed the kangaroos whilst you’re there, it is quite small of a place but has some great keeper talks and cute animals! Our driver then dropped us back at our hotel. Overall such an amazing experience and time, our guide answered all our questions and was very informative. Highly highly recommend.

Thank you Jenny for organising this wonderful trip and Peter for your fun yet informative guide throughout the day. We all had a lovely time! 15 of us all from different backgrounds were somehow connected magically by our cheerful guide. We were lucky to have such beautiful weather and the first stop at Mount Wellington was amazing! The view was absolutely breathtaking! Next, Salamanca market was definitely worthwhile visiting. We all enjoyed the famous scallop pies and salmon sausages as well as the Viking ice-cream, not to mentions plenty of souvernirs we bought home for our family and friends. The Wicked Cheese shop, the Richmond bridge were next and we all enjoyed tasting the famous cheese as well as taking a break by the historic bridge, of course with lots of selfies and pictures taken.
Our last stop at Bonoring Wildlife Sanctuary was certainly the best way to end the day. We all had the a lovely time spotting the Tasmanian devils and feeding the kangaroos as well as having pictures taken with the sleeping koala.
It has been the highlight of our first trip to Tasmania.
We have already reccommended this to all our friends in Sydney.
Thank you again Jenny for patiently answering all my queries promptly as well as giving us heaps of tips for our first trip to Tassie. You are a gem!
Thank you Peter for doing a great job, you are one in a million tour guides!

We had Andrew as our driver for this tour and he did an excellent job start to finish. He changed the order of our stops and took us to the animal sanctuary first. What a great place! For an American we got to see animals we don’t normally experience up close and personal.

As we drive to the next stop of Richmond, Andrew told us all about the countryside. It was very informative. Richmond turned out to be the hidden gem of the tour. Made us want to go back and visit with the rich history and unique assortment of shops and restaurants.

Andrew then dropped us by The Wicked Cheese store to sample and purchase some locally made cheese.

From there Andrew showed off his driving skills as he drove to the top of Mt. Wellington going up a twisting, turning., road that put a lump in your throat.

As we headed back into Hobart Andrew gave us all of the history of the town and pointed out unique buildings and told us which restaurants we might want to visit before getting on our ship again.

Overall a great use of our time.

We booked this tour with Tassie Tours to visit Mount Wellington, Salamanca market, Richmond and the wildlife park in one day. Our guide Mark was very knowledgeable and funny. He explained the history of Hobart and Tasmania. The stories behind the collapsed Tasman Bridge were so sad.

Oh, breathtaking Mount Wellington. Our bus ride on the hill was awesome with Mark's excellent driving skills.
The Salamanca market was very crowded.
Richmond is a must visit beautiful village.

Rob Coates is a guide with lots of local knowledge and stories to share. He made things easy to understand. We definitely enjoyed the refreshing cooler atmosphere of Mt Wellington. His recommendation of having scallops pie in Richmond was spot on. It was just the kind of lunch that we needed. Thanks Rob for an interesting day out. We will always remember Tasmania as how it was presented to us.

This tour truly is excellent and takes you to the main attractions. There is no way we could have done this and learn so much from our excellent guide, by ourselves. Our first stop was up to Mt Wellington were we were able to see Hobart from a totally different perspective, Bruny Island and other landmarks. We were also taken to the beautiful and quaint town of Richmond where we were able to look around and of course admire the famous old bridge. And were able to taste and purchase some excellent Tassie cheese and chocolate, visit the Aussie wildlife park and finished up at the controversial gallery 'Mona'. From Mona we opted to take the ferry back to Hobart giving us the total experience. Our great guide was also able to give us lots of informative, relevant and amusing anecdotal stories. We loved our short stay in Hobart and hope to return again soon and do another 'Tassie Tours' tour.
