This tour was amazing. I can start by saying my husband and I did a similar tour with another company the day before and then we did this one and this one was way superior. Value for money is an understatement. You get free wine tastings at two wineries (which are normally $15 pp each winery and a beautiful lunch at a lovely winery. We also got taken to a lookout over Barossa Valley, chocolate factory Maggie Beer farm shop which we really enjoyed and is a must on the tour and the wonderful Hahndorf where we spent an hour. This is a full day tour and even though we had some rain, definitely did not dampen the experience at all. We had the best tour driver Bob, who was knowledgeable, happy and could not do enough for all on board. If you want to do a winery tour in Adelaide this is the one you should do and if you can try booking directly with Paul the owner of Bums on Seats as other tour companies take a large cut and the company doing the tour are definitely short changed (as we found out). Thank you Paul and Bob. Don and Char Western Australia

We had great communication from Paul from the start, being a smaller group meant they could cater more to people's wants and the flexibility is great. Peter was prompt with our pickup and you can tell he is a passionate local which makes you appreciate the area even more. Stopping off at Mt Lofty and Hahndorf was a nice way to start the day. We visited a nice selection of wineries including lunch at Kie's which was delectable. I also recommend getting the platter if you have someone to share with or even by yourself. I'd been on another wine tour in Barossa a few years back but much preferred this one.

Didn't do Maggie Beers farm but had been informed of this beforehand and given an option to change dates or cancel. Picked up on time and visited 3 different wineries, the highlight being Kies with Sam who was very entertaining. Great lunch. My only bit of constructive criticism is that it is a little frustrating that passengers were asked to be quiet while Paul took personal and business calls while driving (handsfree of course!) and if this was my business I would try to get around this with voicemail or even redirecting the calls but being an owner/operator is a tough gig. Paul kept us entertained with his stories and jokes and was a great host for the day. If you are very easily offended this may not be the tour for you but if you want a great day out, a bit of fun and great value for money, book with these guys and you won't regret it.

Not sure it was worth the money to be honest.
Picked up at 8:40, first drop of wine at 12:10pm.

I do not recommend adding the coffee and cake as you then miss out on walking around Hahndorf.

Of the expected 4-5 wineries - We went to 3, kersbrook, kies and twin valley estate. We also didn’t get to go to Maggie Beers as if we went we would have only gone to two wineries.
Afterwards, after mentioning we had only had 3 wineries, we got offered the seppisfield and penfolds winery, at our own cost. We decided against as it was 5pm by then.

No one was late, we were there early. I can’t see why this was so unorganised. The driver kept forgetting that certain places were closed so we would rock up and then leave.

The driver (Bob) stopped to tell a story at one point and waited for a person to get off the phone. Like just continue on.

Paul called me multiple times when he couldn’t get a hold of Bob.
Bob was friendly but would recommend for an older group rather than 30year olds.

I have been on previous trips with Bums On Seats and had been so excited to do it again with different visitors to Adelaide. However this was not like our previous tour.
Like Bob would constantly remind us - things used to be better here.

Hello Anna Thanks for your one star review :) Anna you forgot to tell everybody that YOU booked the wrong tour ?? As the brochure clearly says : Hahndorf/Barossa 1 hour in Hahndorf Coffee & Cake optional? 2-3 wineries So you were offered another winery instead of Maggie’s ?? You owe us ?? The fact that you got offered another winery at your cost would have been a bonus and on Bob’s time I rang you once with an important message for bob as I new he was driving and oops sorry rang you twice by mistake while trying to reach other customers.. you forgot to tell everyone how long you were at lunch ?? I think for those who require more alcohol please choose: Barossa Food & wine 4-5 & lunch & Maggie’s Ps I think you were a little hard on bob and I’m not showing this to him because it would break his heart Paul BumsOnSeatsTours

I enjoyed this tour very much. Paul took us to some great wineries and he was very responsive to our wants. He was knowledgeable and gave a good running commentary. He has some viewpoints which don't align with mine, and some visitors might find it confronting, saying that I would have him round for a BBQ any day of the week.

Cannot recommend Bums On Seats Tours highly enough.
Paul (our guide) is affable, knowledgeable and welcoming. He made us feel comfortable from the start and we we knew we were in for a great day with lots of laughs.
Bus was clean and comfortable, the cellar doors we visited were boutique and a refreshing change from visiting the bigger name wineries with some beautiful wines tasted and purchased. The included lunch was tasty and plentiful with some very nice choices. Although windy and rainy on the day, Hahndorf was still a lovely town to visit, such a pretty place.
All in all a fantastic value for money daytrip and thank you Paul from David and myself for going the extra mile at the end of the day making our onward travel even easier.
Will definitely recommend Bums On Seats to friends.

Tour guide very opinionated, started talking about covid, climate change and how he didn’t believe in them. I respect everyone’s opinions but not really the conversation I want to be having on a wine tour. Also booked the Barossa Valley with the Hahndorf, Hahndorf was completely missed which is one of the main reasons I actually booked this tour. I do appreciate others may have had a better time but this is how mine went

Hello Heme5h If for some reason you were put on a barossa tour instead of a hahndorf/barossa I will apologise.. but on a hahndorf/ barossa we would never completely miss hahndorf??? You may have been informed that you were the only booking for hahndorf/barossa on this day and that we had seats on a barossa if you wished to join that ?? Or you booked just barossa and made the mistake yourself??? Anyhow WHY DIDN’T you say something on the day ?? If you say I was driving? “ the opinionated one” I’m the boss On the day I can possibly fix things but when you come in as a keyboard warrior there is nothing I can do .. if I was wrong I will compensate ok if YOU were wrong you can remove your bad review ok PS “Covid” That is all the conversation has been over the last two years from “the customers” maybe I didn’t bring it up but would of had my say ? Sorry for having an opinion.. please text me you name and booking date and so I can get to probably answer your complaint? Regards Paul BUMSONSEATS tours

Great tour, Peter knows a lot and he’s always willing to share his knowledge about the regions with everyone, I would recommend this tour to anyone that wants to see more than just wineries, cause you get to see the look out in Mount Lofty and Hahndorf as well and Maggie Beer Farm.
The family wineries were lovely as well.
Thank you Peter!

Highly recommend this tour and Bums On Seats Tour. Such a fun experience.

Barossa Valley is gorgeous and the wineries included in the package are wonderful and hosted by experienced wine connoisseurs and staff who made sure we had a very pleasant experience during and after wine tasting experiences.

Hahndorf is a must see and definitely worth seeing on the same tour/day as the Barossa. Grab a good ol' German beer, endulge in a bslab of chocolate fudge, and try the sorbet icecreams (one scoop is plenty!).

Driver swung pass Maggie Beer where we enjoyed down time and a wonder about the pheasant enclosures and a sip of a hot or cold beverage by the pond that had turtles and ducks surrounded by nature - lovely setting.

Peter, the tour guide is a kind and lovable character and has a wealth of knowledge of SA. He is a Port Adelaide supporter, so if you bring up the AFL, he will be sure to enjoy the footy talk and banter. Funny man and so nice!

Thanks BumsOnSeats Tours for a wonderful day!

Booked direct with Paul, discussing our day out to Hahndorf and the Barossa on Sunday 7th March. Peter our driver picked up from Marion Holiday Park. He
gave us some great suggestions and created a lot of fun along the way (loved my platter at Kies, couldn’t work out why others didn’t have it – great local produce).
The other 2 couples on our trip mixed in really well with our group and seemed to enjoy themselves as well.
Hopefully we can arrange another trip to McLaren Vale next year.
Thank you again for offering such a great day out. A great day was had by us all (with some wines to bring home with us to remember the occasion at a later date and reminisce on the day). Great with just a small group
