    XXXX Brewery Tour
Stop: 90 minutes - Admission included
In Queensland, XXXX means beer, but how did this iconic brew get its name? Find out on a fun and fascinating 90-minute tour of the XXXX brewery. Your guide greets you in the brewery’s visitor center. Enjoy an introduction to the history of beer making, and learn some of the brewery's techniques. After your introduction, walk throughout the central parts of this historic site. Put on safety gear and check out the machinery that brews, stores and bottles beer. Most weekdays, you can enter the Packaging Hall to marvel at the state-of-the-art packaging line. Watch thousands of beer bottles whiz past you on a distribution line; most breweries don't allow you to get this close! Once you have delved into the inner workings of the brewery, get instruction on how to pour the perfect glass of beer in the XXXX Restaurant and Bar. Taste four freshly made brews with a new appreciation for the work that went into making the tasty beverage. After about an hour and a half your tour wraps up. Feel free to kick back in the bar and enjoy XXXX's legendary beers or visit the gift shop before making your way to your next destination.

    XXXX in depth
Loved this tour, Ken was a fantastic guide and incredibly knowledgeable on every part of the process. The first video on the round screen on floor was a little hard to see, but a very minor issue compared to the rest of the tour

We did the tour on a sunday and although the bottling wasnt operational we understood that its a working brewery and it wasnt a bottling day. Josh our tour guide was ace. He was very knowledgeable and funny too. The voucher we recirved was a welcome surprise and although we couodnt club together to get anythin more expensive we did get 3 posters which will go on our wall at home as a reminder of the tour.

    Interesting, informative and delicious
A very interesting and informative tour, full of history, facts and modern updates. Josh was a great tour guide - thanks Josh. We enjoyed trying the beers at the end and the burgers and chips were delicious and perfect for absorbing some of the alcohol for those amongst us not used to it. We are still talking about the chips the next day. Definitely recommended

    HIGHLY RECOMMEND XXXX TOUR
What an unforgettable experience! Our tour guide Torry was super funny and entertaining. The history on beer videos played were well put together and engaging. The whole tour was amazing and the beer tasting was fun! We also got $5 gift voucher to spend on awesome XXXX merch. After the tour we had some yummy Woodfire pizza and more beer in the bar area and played pool. Such a fun Saturday afternoon spent with friends! I would highly recommend if your looking for things to do in Brissy!

Must do even if you don’t like their beer!
We booked as we had a voucher for 50% in the entertainment book and it was worth it! Even if you don’t like the beer, seeing how beer is produced in mass amounts and packed. Also history of the company and lots of samples at the end.

    Great Tour
Great tour around the factory with a very informative guide called Anthony. Lots of history with some bad jokes thrown in too. (Sorry Anthony😉) Finish off with a few samples in the Ale House. Also had a meal before the tour which was very good too. Well worth a visit.

    Brewery tour
The tour was interesting and was conducted by a knowledgable and enthusiastic tour guide. I would suggest that people try to go when the brewery is in operation as I went on a Saturday. The tasting at the end of the tour was informative and not just about drinking beer.

    Fun Tour
We toured the brewery with teenagers and enjoyed the whole tour. The tor had details but not too much detail. The history of XXXX and the brewery was interesting and the sample at the end was fun.

This tour was awesome with so much interesting information provided and a lot of laughter along the way. Paul was our guide and he was fantastic, always cracking jokes and he clearly knew his stuff, you could tell he had a passion for everything beer. Value for money and we loved the beer tasting at the end (everyone's favourite part) with quite a few to try including XXXX and even their lime and mango Summer Bright beer. Highly recommend if you have a couple of hours spare visiting Brissy. We also dined there and can vouch that the food is delicious!

As this was a public holiday the tour was conducted in the quiet and we did not get to see the machinery working.
However our guide was brilliant and the information was fantastic
Note: there is a lot of stairs to be traversed on this tour and wear closed shoes.
Now to the beer tasting
I cannot believe I was unable to get a XXXX beer at the local restaurant I chose for my evening meal later that day.
Just down the road from their local brewery and they hold none in stock!
Suggested they may like to do the tour and re-evaluate that.
As a non beer drinker The XXXX Summer Bright - simply delicious.

This was a birthday gift, went along with my wife.
Tour was for 1 hour and 30 minutes but went for 2 hours our guide was very knowledgeable and the tour was very interesting.
We enjoyed our meals that where part of the package tour and purchased some xxxx merchandise which was very reasonably priced.
I would recommend this to be a go to when visiting Brisbane or just a nice couple of hours taking in some Queensland history .

I can highly recommend the XXXX brewery tour. This was a fun and relaxed tour and I give kudos to the guide for having a great balance in not rushing, but able to keep the tour on track.
The history of beer and of the brewery was presented very well in their mini theatre. I enjoyed the guided tour of the brewery, although being a Saturday the bottling machines were not operating. The beer tasting at the end of the tour was generous, and I even left with a slight head spin on.
I would say if you have an afternoon to kill and you want something fun to do, check this out! It is right beside the Milton train station, so no worries with driving afterward.

Every 18 year old raised in Queensland is mesmerised by the big beer factory on Milton Road. Somehow it took me 40 years to actually get inside! What a treat. The public areas and theatres are so well presented, the tour content interesting and well-paced, and the guides knowledgeable and fun. Well worth the visit for the fun, the science and the beer.

Paul the tour guide has been around the brewery for a long time - and new his stuff. He kept the group moving at a good pace, while entertaining us with facts and stories about his time working for XXXX since the 70s.

Was a shame the tour doesn’t operate while the brewery and plants are in full swing, but still a great behind the scenes glimpse.

Good way to spend a few hours on a rainy (or not!) Brisbane afternoon!

The Stafford PROBUS Club did a 90-minute tour of the Castlemaine XXXX Brewery on Saturday 28th October and it was unforgettable. The tour guide, Joshua, was extremely knowledgeable and delivered the information on the background of the brewery and the current status in a very entertaining manner. He had a delightful sense of humour. The beer tasting at the end of the tour was very much appreciated on a hot day and again he delivered the beer and the information in a way that kept everyone interested. We all enjoyed our lunch that followed the tasting and everyone in group thoroughly recommends this tour to anyone who wants to know a lot more about Queensland's favourite beer.

Shan was our guide and was so bright and cheery and full of quirky little jokes that it made our tour quite fun. Unfortunately the production line wasn't in operation but as explained to us, that is quite normal as the brewery is very efficient. It also would have made it very noisy and more difficult for him to explain things, so probably a good thing in hindsight. Obviously the beer tasting at the end is everyone's highlight and is quite generous. The atmosphere in the restaurant area is lovely and relaxed as well. In all our years of driving past the brewery we didn't even realise it was there. A great place to hang out and enjoy a meal and drinks after your tour as no alcohol is allowed before for workplace health & safety reasons. Quite a number of steps involved so definitely not suitable for people with mobility issues.

The @xxxxbrewery tour is £17 well spent. Over 90 minutes, Daniel took us on a lively fact-filled tour of Queensland's most famous brewery. The six samples provided were delicious. The one that stood out for me was the Summer Bright Mango, with mango puree providing sweetness and light. I also enjoyed the James Squire 150 Lashes pale ale, Summer Bright Lime and XXXX Gold. Next stop - paired tasting!
