Fantastic day out

So much to see and do

Swimming, walking, termite mounds, swimming and some swimming

Probably 2 day adventure out of Darwin, suggest to plan a full day at Lichfield Park, via Batchelor, do something else the following day and then head back to Litchfield Park via Berry Springs on the 3rd day, you won't be dissapointed

Only thing was dissapointing was thought we would get lunch whilst travelling throughout the day came across Wangi Falls cafe (only main spot with a cafe)
Met with a tourist bus having 2/3rds of the cafe and walk in people lining up having to wait. The food was unfortunately WELL over priced ($10.50 for a pre made basic sandwich out of a fridge).

We gave the cafe at Wangi Falls a miss and drove to Berry Springs Tavern
Sit down, relaxed atmosphere
Best decision - beautiful wraps and chips for $16.00 and was so nice, serving was satisfying as it fed 2 of us other couple with us had a meal each and could not fault the freshness of their servings, and drinks at bar prices - GREAT CHOICE for us - first time customer to the Tavern, just a fluke we stumbled across this Tavern

Super easy to book, with hotel pickup included, it couldn’t have been easier. An amazing trip, hosted by the highly experienced and knowledgeable Dan, we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this tour. Dan had a bit of something for everyone, gave us the great opportunity to go to the less crowded locations and even got my two teenage kids to talk (a rare feat in anyone’s books). HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The butterfly farm was quirky and different, but entertaining, However, the best part was swimming in the fast flowing, fresh clear water. Our guide directed us to the best site and we had it almost to ourselves. Timing is everything and the local knowledge of our guide optimised when we visitited each location. His awareness of the environment and sensitivity to local history and culture was fabulous.

Book direct with this terrific small business in Darwin.
Our guide Yvonne did a brilliant job, exuding enthusiasm and a passion for her job and the area she was showcasing. Nothing was too much, loads of local knowledge. The small group had options to work independently and meet up or stay together as a group, so catered for everyone.

This tour is a big day - but not to be missed. Our guide, Dan, was very knowledgable and great fun. First stop was the Butterfly Farm at Batchelor hosted by the somewhat eccentric Chris - great fun. After that it was off to Litchfield NP for waterfalls and some great swimming spots. Throughout the day Dan told us of the ways in which the indigenous used the local plants for food and medicine and how they read the seasons which determined their movements around the environment.

Don’t miss this tour.

I loved every part of it. Our guide, Dan, was exceptional. He was friendly and helpful at all times. He also has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the area we travelled through and Litchfield Park itself, sharing lots of local history and interesting anecdotes throughout the day. Delicious lunch. Everything was perfectly paced. Swimming in rock pools under waterfalls was incredible. Dan knows everything there is to know about local plant and animal species too! I love nature so this was very special indeed.

Yes, you can drive yourself but in doing so, you would miss the in depth knowledge and hidden gems that this particular tour offers. Exceptional tour guide in Dan with an an-depth knowledge of the region and its history along with an affinity with the land and its original inhabitants. This would have been one of the highlights of our stay in the region. A well-paced small group tour that takes in the breath-taking highlights and the elements that you just wouldn't get on doing it on your own or on a larger tour.

A great day out with a small intimate group. Our guide was the very energic and knowledgable Yvonne a member of Dan’s team. From the butterfly farm at Batchelor to Litchfield NP waterfalls and beautiful swimming spots. Yvonne also shared with us so much information on bush plants and the use by the indigenous people. It’s definitely a worthwhile trip.
