The tour was good, guide pretty knowledgeable, but the day ended badly when our bus was robbed. The driver pulled up to Ayer’s Rock, showed us the path to follow, and told us to only take our cameras with us, and to leave everything else on the bus, including our back packs. He drove off to park the bus and eventually joined us on the path. While the bus was parked, and we were on the trail, thieves broke into the bus and stole everything. When I got back to my hotel, I was told by staff that these thefts “happen frequently”. Ayers Rock is a small community, relying heavily on tourism, and word of these thefts is likely common knowledge amongst the employees who work there. This leads me to wonder why, knowing this, the driver would tell us to leave belongings on the bus; why would he leave the bus un-attended; and why isn’t’t there increased security at these tourist sites? I am writing this as a warning to anyone booking any of these tours to always keep your valuables with you. The driver should have never told us to leave our back packs on the bus.
On another disturbing note, at the end of the day, there was the featured bbq at a site where local artists were selling their creations. After those of us on the tour had our fill of food, (steak, sausages, salads, drinks), the guide pulled out a garbage container and started throwing out all the leftover food, which included all the meats and salads, right in front of the locals and their children. We stopped the guide and told him to offer the food to the locals. He reluctantly did so.I am sure on days when I am not there, the guides routinely throw out good food rather than offer it to the locals. It was a shameful and disgusting act, and if it is company policy, Emu Run needs to re-visit the policy.

On-time free pick up at 6.40pm from our hotel, detailed commentary to our half way destination where we got beer and juice with a variety of nibbles while we watched the sunset. Then getting on the bus with Jacob, who have us a detailed guided tour as we drove to our dinner spot.
Great food, opportunity to meet and chat with other visitors while the tour staff ensured our glasses were topped up and our food was to our liking. Desert was lemon meringue pie or lamington, both very sweet and easily devoured.
Then everyone moved their chairs away from the dinner tables into the open and with all lights turned off and only 300mtrs from Uluru, Matt took us on a star gazing journey filled with enormous amount of knowledge and wonder.
Toilets two minute walk away, that are very clean and hygienic. Beautiful night breeze meant no flies or mosquitoes (mozzies) and soft music during dinner made the night serene, memorable and bucket-list envy.
Dropped off at the hotel by 10.20pm for endless chats about our amazing experience.
Highly recommend this tour activity. Thank you for making this once in a lifetime experience to sacred Uluru even more magical and special.

Fantastic day from start to finish! The guides (Yad Brar and Alan) of Emu Experience went above and beyond to make sure the trips from destinations were comfortable and smooth. Yad was an excellent tour guide who is highly knowledgeable of Aboriginal heritage and the history of Uluṟu. The day was topped with a beautiful dinner. Highly recommend to any one wanting adventure, and to learn about Australian heritage. Thanks Emu Run, Eddy and Fabian :)

Absolutely the worse excursion that I have ever been on. Promised 30 people on the tour and there were 51. The bus was hot, no USB ports or drop-down tv. We waited 50 minutes for the other participants to join our group, which reduced our time at Kata Tjuta to only 40 minutes. We had one 20 minute pit stop which left us limited time to view the displays, shop and get a snack, go to the bathroom and return to the bus… ridiculous.
We were given an apple for our snack and then no where to put the core. Had to hold on to it for 30 minutes We were told that previously a bus had been vandalized so instead of one of the guides staying with the bus, they both left the bus unlocked and unattended. The guide was Spanish, difficult to understand and had only been on the job 5 months and that was evident. The meal was just fair The bathroom was foul smelling and there was no soap or water for hand washing. I wasted almost $600 on this excursion. I certainly didn’t get my money’s worth, a complete ripoff

This is basically 3 tours in one: a trip to Kata Tjuta with an hour to explore independently, a trip to Uluru with guided commentary and a sunset BBQ watching the colours change on the rock. All three were enjoyable - we liked the trip to Kata Tjuta best since we had a better opportunity to explore Uluru on another day (by Segway).

A special mention to Karen (a driver) and Jo (in the office) who rescued us when the company we had booked through - Viator - let us down by canceling our booking without telling us. Karen and Jo were wonderful.

A tip - book with Emu Run Experiences directly and avoid Viator.

Do not expect to sit in a luxury coach. Do not expect to have 2 guides. You do not get to ask all the questions you want. Instead, you get a poker face most of the time and get to smell the toilet on the coach.

This is the worst tour experience I have ever had and the company does not even care. Do not waste your time on them. Find someone else so you don't get a bad and unforgettable memory.

Karen, our guide and driver for the Uluru and Kata Tjuta was excellent. She had a great knowledge of the Aboriginal stories and geological knowledge of the area. We had enough toilet stops etc.
The Sunset while having the BBQ was a highlight! The food cooked and salads were delicious and the free champagne, beer, orange juice was generous!

Very rushed from beginning to end. Not relaxing , was expecting lunch as advertised , told none available as came from the camp ground not Alice springs.
Not enough time to enjoy the different places especially Kata Junta and Cultural centre.Had to buy lunch as was hungry, no time to look at things.
Uninspiring tour guide, seemed stressed and rushing all the time. Bbq only good thing about the tour. Even then rush to leave when the sky is changing colours and you want to take more pics. Shut in the bus while tour guide doing something else. Not recommended at all. Make sure you are not in the toilet when the bus pulls away, not a good experience infact traumatic. This was supposed to have been a special day but it was far from that.

Would highly recommend! In fact if I only had 1 day at Uluru I would be satisfied with just this experience. There were only another 2 people on our tour which meant flexibility with timings. Our guide Britt was really knowledgeable and so capable..our bus driver, tour guide and chef! Please pass on our thanks. There was ample time at each destination and BBQ dinner was great. Really happy, thank you!

First class all the way. What an amazing day, beautiful scenery. From the moment of pick up this was a great day. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and really good, they explain a lot throughout the day. From breakfast to dinner and all the snacks the food was excellent and the BBQ dinner with breathtaking views as the sun sets, so glad we did this tour as I think we would have missed quite a bit going in on our own. Great value for money. You definitely won't be disappointed.
