          Uluṟu is spectacular!
Pleasant and informative driver. Easy going tour pace. Uluru is incredible! Did not disappoint with all of the history, culture, stories and sunset colour changes. Snacks were limited so suggest taking your own as well. BBQ dinner and drinks covered preferences and ample amount to cover everyone. Thank you!

          Excellent customer service
I did an off train excursion from the Ghan. Scotty was an excellent guide and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the tour. However he went above and beyond to get me some much needed medication even delivering it to the train in his own time. Thank you so much Scotty.

A great way to spend the day.
We were picked up on time at our hotel and transported to our destinations easily. Yad was great in telling us how long it would take to get to a site, how long we had there as well as local history and necessary customs. Our last stop was an outdoor venue with a perfect view of Ayer’s Rock for a nice barbecue with plenty of options for fussy eaters (not me :-) ) Only downside was that we were trying to understand words in the native Aboriginal language and also understand them with Yad’s accent. A bit of a challenge, but there are plenty of informational signs along the walking routes.

          Majestic Uluṟu
The rock lives up to every expectation you have . Guided tour presented cultural insights into the history of the rock you wouldn’t normally discover.

First Class Tour company - experts in the Alice Springs area.
Cannot rate this company highly enough. Our initially booked travel to the Alice area got messed up, and in hindsight this was a blessing. We did a mixture of group day tours, all with a legend of guide named Bluey. A master storyteller and a fountain of knowledge on the history, the people, the geology, the flora and fauna of the area. With Bluey as the guide, we did the half day "Historical Alice" tour, the West McDonnell Ranges tour and the Palm Valley Tour. Because we couldn't align dates for other tours to our desired visits to Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon, Emu Run presented the option of a private tour over three days to these areas. A bit more expensive, but what an experience - just the tour guide, my partner and I. Our guide Filippe was brilliant. He made sure we had the best time. Provided us with lots of information about the area, and also willing to share lots about his homeland of Chile - which now puts Chile on our list of places we want to go. The flexibility of the private tour means you're not locked into group timings, and you are able to spend a little more time at some points of interest, as long as you still fit in with the overall allowable tour times.

          Excellent one day tour
This is an excellent one day tour. It's a full day, and definitely worth the price. Hermannsburg an interesting precinct to visit, and spectacular scenery in Palm Valley. The 4WD aspect of the drive into and out of Palm Valley great fun - who needs roller coasters. An exceptional guide in Bluey, who is an absolute fountain of knowledge about the area - history, geology, flora and fauna - and an amazing storyteller who brings things to life.

Day trip from Alice for sunset viewing at Uluru
It's a long day (leave Alice 0700, return around midnight), but so worth it. A very reasonably priced option if you don't want to rent a car and do the driving, or get a room at Yulara (closest accommodation to Uluru). Bus transfers were punctual and Charlie did a great job behind the wheel there and back. Our guide, Yad, was excellent. Friendly, great knowledge, a very professional communicator. Dinner at the Rock was very well organised, plenty of tasty food, a good selection of drinks, and a primo location for sunset view. Big thanks for an incredible experience.

Very long and very worth it
Staying overnight wasn't an option for me; this was a long, intense day but so worth it. Driver Sam was very friendly, guide Yan (?) was very knowledgeable. It was like hop-on, hop-off at a few spots around Ayer's Rock, so each walk was short and relatively flat. We saw the water hole, aboriginal drawings, kitchen cave...everything. Then we had a cookout with drinks as the sun set. Beautiful! However, one of the best highlights was our stop on the way home to stargaze at the Milky Way. Breathtaking. Definitely worth the money and the time!

          Perfect trip!
Yes, the bus ride was long, but it was comfortable, the guides and drivers were great, there was plenty of time to walk around and take pictures, and it ran 100% on time. The sunset at Uluru delivered! Though pictures just don't do "the rock" justice. The site's sacredness, paintings, history, cultural significance, long views of the landscape, and pure texture of the place made it a special and memorable day -- highly recommended!

          So good!
This day trip from Alice Springs was so well organised. The communication from our first enquiry all the way through was great. Lovely new coach driven by Charlie, picked us up on the allocated time at our hotel. Charlie didn’t bombard us will information, just the key elements, which was perfect for us. The tour at Uluru was led by Yad, a very knowledgeable certified tour guide. His style of information telling was very gentle and relaxed. The dinner at sunset was very generous with so many choices of food and drinks We would highly recommend Emu Run experience

OK tour, would visit Palm Valley a different way next time
We went on the Palm Valley 4WD tour. The tour consists of: Pick up from hotel about 7am, 1.5 hour drive to Hermannsburg, stop for toilet break and morning tea / coffee + biscuits. Followed by 1 hour drive towards Palm Valley via Finke River. 20 minute stop at Cicad George to have a look around, followed by a short drive to a picnic area for a toilet break. Then drive into Palm Valley. 1 hour walk (optional) on a track through part of the gorge and then over a ridge back to the car park. Then back to the picnic area for lunch - make your own wrap, poppers and apples. Drive to Hermannsburg old mission (entry fee included) to look around the mission and art gallery for about an hour. Drive 1.5 hours back to Alice Springs, finishing about 5pm. They had good gluten free options for me, which was very much appreciated. The drive is quite a 4wd experience, so be prepared for some bumps! The tour guides were lovely and somewhat knowledgeable, however we were a little disappointed the guides weren't locals, as they lacked the years worth of knowledge a local would have. They were friendly and approachable and did their best. The tour was very 'sight see'-like. Hope off the bus, walk around, get back on. I would have really liked more time in Palm Valley to take it all in. Having lunch there is one suggestion to achieve this. During the stop at the mission we were left to our own devises. This hour could have been enhanced greatly with a short tour by the staff there. I think if I had my time over, I would try and see Palm Valley a different way - maybe a more intimate tour with a smaller operator, or maybe not going at all if I'm not able to go myself in a 4wd and take my time. The oldies (65+) seem to enjoy themselves. We are in our mid-30s and so perhaps we were expecting a little more in-depth and curated tour.

This trip started somewhat shakily with us being asked to be outside our hotel a full 30 minutes before the coach even left the Depot. The coach itself was well used and not very comfortable….

But the day picked up and we were able to reach interesting places with good explanations and a decent enough lunch. (More control would have been nice with people making up two wraps before others had even started - there certainly wasn’t enough for 2 each for all).

Other gripes include not sticking to schedules “back on the bus ready to leave at 2,45” being utterly ignored, very frustrating for those who were.

Overall an interesting day out but pretty rough at the edges.

Excellent day trip to a variety of sites in the West MacDonnell National Park: Simpsons Gap, Standley Chasm, Ochre Pits, Mt Sonder lookout, Ormiston Gorge, Ellery Creek. Our driver/guide, Emma not only gave us a comfortable and safe journey but provided us with a wealth of information with a focus on Aboriginal Culture, geological significance of the area, flora & fauna. Extended commentary was interesting, relevant, using strategies to hold audience attention, including humor. Tour included several easy walks, morning tea & healthy lunch .
Emma made this day trip a great learning experience and truly memorable.
Thank you Emma for sharing your extensive knowledge of the West Mac and your guiding skills. An exceptional tour guide.

This trip was not too bad but I still downvote it due to my bad experience same week with the same company. In the last tour, the bus was full and not even one extra seat was available and I had a very uncomfortable time to stay next to the person on my neighbor seat. My day was ruined and I could not change my seat. The company is careless on me as a customer and I will never ever choose this company anymore. My downvote will at least help the other people.

Karen, our guide & driver was fantastic. Professional & friendly with a great knowledge of the area. This is a great tour & nice to be taken to all the fantastic sights rather than a long day driving. We did this tour early April, so it was still quite warm, there was water on the bus, to fill up drink bottles at the stops & we were able to go for a swim at 2 locations.
We had a lovely morning tea Standley Chasm, but don't take too long taking photo's as we did as a lot of the morning tea had been eaten - though we still had enough to eat. We also had a nice lunch of wraps with deli meats & salad
I would definitely recommend you do this tour.

We were booked with another tour operator who let us down at the last minute. However, we were very happy to have been able to book into this tour through the Alice Springs Tourist Centre. It was a wonderful day in various locations of the Wes Macdonnell Ranges, and the tour guide and bus driver Emma was brilliant. She was very knowledgeable and highly personable and a credit to Emu Run Tours. I would definitely recommend this to tourists in Central Australia.

I did this tour on Friday 13 January 2023.

Our driver/guide told us 14 people were booked on the tour the night before it so Emu Run had catered for 14, but 24 people in total joined at the last minute.

Subsequently there was not enough food. After hiking, three of us shared a single small tortilla wrap filled with scraps of grated carrot and cheese. There may have been tea or coffee left (unlikely) but there were no cups to drinks them from.

This was very disappointing, unacceptable and easily avoidable. If Emu Run had catered for 14 people it should have refused the extra people.

Alternatively if Emu Run wanted to accept extra people on the day they should have told them to bring a picnic.

Another alternative was that the driver/guide could have bought extra food before leaving Alice Springs.

If the driver/guide wasn't allowed to leave the vehicle he could have asked a tourist to run to the supermarket in Alice Springs to buy extra food for the group.

The driver/guide also didn't get to eat (he had three palm-sized pieces of processed meat the group had left) and suggested the group make a complaint to Emu Run.

I emailed Emu Run seven days ago, haven't had a reply, so have emailed them again today and am posting this.

This tour was a last minute booking and we were all thrilled with the day. We are a family of two adults, a 13 year old and an 8 year old and this tour was fantastic for all of us. We saw some truly spectacular scenery and our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. There was plenty of food and Glen Helen was a lovely lunch stop. I would recommend this tour to mobile
children and adults. My only complaint was that there were a lot of guests with limited mobility that held us up each stop, it is a tour for mobile people.

We had a great time today with Emma. She provided enough commentaries to keep us interested - sophisticated enough for adults and relatable enough for my 8 year old. The tour was efficient, on time and every bit interesting. Within the constraints of an organised tour, it could be as active or as relaxing as we wish. The coach was comfortable and lunch was healthy and fresh. Highly recommended.

As our one day trip out of Alice Springs on a short visit there, this tour gave us a great experience of the broader area, and included picturesque stops with sufficient time to explore them. Our friendly guide Connie gave a very intersting, entertaining and well-informed commentary on the geology, flora and fauna etc. which enhanced the trip for us. A basic morning tea and a simple but tasty picnic lunch (make our own salad wrap) were included. The mini-bus did the job. Overall we thought this tour was well run, provided what it said it would, and was good value for money. We are happy to recommend it

Emu Run's tour of the West McDonnell Ranges was a highlight of the trip to Alice Springs. The day is jam-packed full of incredible places and Filippe (our guide) provided an informative and friendly narration as we travelled through the beautiful landscape. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a fabulous day.
Hope to do this tour again in the future.
