We loved this experience and it was one of the highlights of our trip! Frascati is a thirty-minute train ride from Rome, but it was very easy and inexpensive to get to, and the hosts give very clear directions. Once we arrived, Nico met us at the train station and gave us a brief tour of Frascati, which boasts incredible views of Rome and some interesting history. We made our way to the family restaurant, where the wine tasting and cooking class commenced. First, we tasted two wines (both very good) and learned about the wines and the wine making process from Nico. At the close of the tasting, you have the option to purchase glasses or bottles of wine to drink during the cooking class (or take home with you). The pasta making class was excellent--very fun and educational. Nico led the way, letting us try our hand at pasta making while still giving us individual guidance and stepping in to lend a hand if necessary. When the pasta was complete, Nico showed us how to make the three sauces and then we ate! Everything was DELICIOUS and the bottle of wine we purchased was a nice addition. After the class, we had about an hour until the next train to Rome, so Nico recommended a local bar, which ended up being a great end to our night. HIGHLY recommend booking this experience!!

From start to finish, amazing and engaging hospitality from Irene and Simon and their group of cousins at this family owned experience. Irene started with a history of the area and we took a short walk to their cooking studio. Ingredients were fresh and locally sourced, portions were perfect and the pace was great for everyone in our group! Left with friends to explore rome with, full bellies, and bottles of wine to enjoy for the rest of the night and an added history lesson about their cellars!

Quick tip…download the Trainline app and grab your ticket from Roma Termini to Francasti. It’s a quick two stops out of the city for 2.50€, they made sure we ended with plenty of time to catch the last train back to the city! Round trip 5.00€ And a scenic ride through the country side.

Incredibly authentic and fun experience - can not recommend this enough.

We had original booked the experience for our second day in Rome but unfortunately missed our train to Frascati so missed the experience - Simon was incredibly understanding and allowed us to reschedule for another day we had free at no extra cost which I’m so glad was possible as we had the best time!

We started out with a short tour of Frascati and some of the history about the town before heading to the wine tasting and pasta making.
The class is hosted by a local family who were all so welcoming, chatty and informative. This was by far one of my favourite activities I did in Rome.

This is also a much cheaper alternative to other pasta making classes and wine tastings, however this definitely does not reflect on the quality. Can not recommend it enough - we loved the wine so much we bought a bottle of each to take back home with us!

Excellent value for money and a good break from the typical walking tours found in Roma. Why not head over to Frascati and have a go at making some pasta and washing it down with some local wine. Nico is a fantastic host, greeting us at the train station, giving us some history of Frascati as we walked to his kitchen where the magic happens.

I can definitely recommend this to anyone (even if you are useless at cooking like I am) as is good fun and what better to make a meal out of it?!

Irene arrived to greet us shortly after our train arrived (make sure to be on time because we left right away). She gave a charming tour of Frascati including some history of the nearby castle (Princess Diana's cousin was married in Frascati's castle).

After arriving at the Pasta making venue, everyone was invited to try the local wines (my wife and I don't drink so we drank Fanta; but everyone seemed to love the wines). You'll get to try a red and a white wine.
Irene walked and coached us through making pasta from scratch -- it was fun, relaxed, and charming to be there.

The pasta itself was fantastic and my wife and I are excited to do it at home. The pasta sauces and our guide was excellent. Irene is the best and a fantastic host.

I highly recommend this experience for anyone traveling to Rome!

Our whole family enjoyed the pasta making and wine tasting in Frascati. It was an easy 30 minute train ride from Rome to Frascati where Nico met us and we walked through the city center of Frascati while he explained the history of the city. In total we were a group of 15, from Canada, France, the UK and USA. We tasted a red and a white Frascati wine, with some cured meats and sheep cheese. Nico demonstrated how to combine simple ingredients to form the pasta ball which was then kneaded and rolled out into a thin sheet, ready for cutting into different size pasta noodles. Then the whoala moment of unfurling the pasta noodles over the flat edge of the knife! Next was choosing a sauce you wanted for your pasta and then finally cooking the pasta and preparing the sauce. The finale was feasting on your own freshly prepared pasta and sauce, of course, while enjoying a glass of Frascati wine. Thank you Nico, my Gluten Free daughter-in-law so enjoyed making her own gluten free pasta! Thank you for the accommodations!

Worth every penny, the host was incredible, met us straight outside the station and took us on a tour around the town, which has an incredible history. The wine tasting was a perfect start to the pasta making experience, make it very sociable. Recommend for anyone looking to do something different outside of the Rome city centre.

This is such an awesome thing to do we met really great people. You start out as strangers by the end of class you feel like friends.
Not to mention its just a lot of fun the guide pick us up at the train station and he was truly funny, on a very short walk to the class he gave us history and the town is so beautiful. My daughter and I would definitely come again and next trip I will stay in the very beautiful small town. Great experience it’s a must and the sauce he makes to go with the paste was the best I’ve had since we got to Europe 7 days ago

The host was amazing, she very knowledgeable about the city & m gave us a brief overview of some local history. The experience itself was such a fun time. The pasta sauces were all delicious & the wine was so good that we had to purchase multiple bottles. Highly recommend this experience, we even walked away with new friends :)

It was a brilliant experience from start to finish, our host was very attentive and waited for us to arrive following our delays due to bus replacements. She took us on a lovely tour of Frascati, explaining the history of the area and provided from interesting tid bits to take away. She was a natural teacher and gave very easy to understand instructions during the class. Both wines we tasted were fantastic as well as the pasta at the end. It was great to have a small group of 8 of us to keep it intimate, our group was great and we continued the wine drinking after the experience ended. Making our own pasta sauces as well as the cave tour under the building made this experience brilliant value for money. If you are in Rome for any length of time you simply have to do this experience.
