After pickup (select hotels only) in Sliema, Valletta, Bugibba, or other locations on Malta, settle into your air-conditioned vehicle and travel to one of the island's traditional villages.
On route, admire Malta’s countryside and listen as your guide points out of places of interest. Hear about Malta’s tradition of festas — religious feast days usually held during summer and organized by parish churches.
With 80 festas held annually across Malta and Gozo, these events are a major part of local life, and feature church decorations, processions, marching bands, food stalls, and fireworks displays — the latter on the festa eve.
On arrival at the village — chosen for holding what are considered the best-festa-eve fireworks — enjoy time to tour and explore. Visit the parish church to admire the decorations, and enjoy free time to wander through the illuminated streets and join the celebrations.
Peruse the prettily lit stalls selling festa sweets and other goodies, and enjoy the music from marching brass bands. Then, experience a brilliant fireworks show, watching the stars and rockets crackle overhead and light up the sky with bursts of color.
Your tour then finishes with a drop-off back at the original starting point.
