About
Explore beautiful mountain and lake landscapes in one day.
"Haft Kul" or "Seven Lakes" is the name of cascading lakes among the legendary Fann Mountains in the northwestern part of Tajikistan, near Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
A group of mountain lakes amaze visitors with their bright and constantly changing colors. Each lake has its own name: the lowest lake, which travelers usually meet first, is called Mijgon. Next are Soya, Hushor, Nofin, Khurdak, Marguzor (the largest) and Hazorchashma (the highest).
Seven lakes are in the Fan Mountains, in the gorge of the Shing River. Ancient petroglyphs discovered on the shore of one of the lakes indicate that the lakes are quite old. The lowest lake (Mijgon) is located at an altitude of 1,640 meters, and the highest (Hazorchashma) is 2,400 meters. The height difference between the lowest and highest lakes is 760 meters, and the distance between them is more than 14 km.

- 626kirbyf0 contributionsHisar Fortress: History, Views, and Good Vibes! My experience at Hisar Fortress was absolutely remarkable! The fortress itself is a stunning blend of history and breathtaking views, making it a must-visit destination. I booked my tour through Bunyod Tour, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. My guide was incredibly nice and helpful, providing insightful information about the fortress's rich history and significance. His passion for the site made the tour engaging and enjoyable. He patiently answered all my questions and ensured I didn’t miss any highlights. I highly recommend visiting Hisar Fortress, and if you can, definitely book your tour with Bunyod Tour. Their knowledgeable guides and excellent service will enhance your experience and make it truly unforgettable. Don’t miss the chance to explore this beautiful landmark!Written 10 October 2024
- Patje19800 contributionsGreat day!Great tour to this fort but most of all Oyatullo told passionate about Tadjikistan that when I go back I want him again as a guide! He also makes your day worth the trip by going to hidden gems in Dushanbe!Written 13 September 2024
- claudemH1518YK0 contributionsFirst trip to TajikistanDoing the 10-day trek in the Fann Mountains was an amazing experience without any issues. A car picked us up in Samarkand, and another took us to Dushanbe. Each day was a new adventure, with breathtakingly wild landscapes. The mountains reflected in the crystal-clear waters of the countless deep blue lakes, where we swam every day. The route is demanding but without any technical difficulties. We slept in tents every night except in the Seven Lakes Valley. The meals prepared by our cook were excellent. A must-do!Written 12 September 2024
- txferg990 contributions5* experience, high integrityOur experience was amazing. We got to see the rugged beauty of the land, the wonder and mystery of the culture, and the amazing hospitality of the people. Our tour guide (Bobojohn) was simply amazing. He knew so much and taught us with a caring teacher's heart. He got us into locations and venues that were closed or not accepting - this guy knows everybody! Can't say enough about the professionalism, care, hospitality, and integrity of the trip. Would travel with them any day.Written 2 June 2024
- Aferg000 contributionsHighly RecommendIncredible! Highly recommend. We went on a 7-day private tour. Our guide was Bobojohn. We could not have dreamed of a better guide. The service was exceptional. From the moment you arrive at the airport to when you return, you will not need to worry about a thing. Bobojohn did a fantastic job revealing to us the beauty of Tajikistan.Written 2 June 2024
- theresat8120 contributionsWonderful Guide in DushanbeHokim is a wonderful guide. He’s knowledgeable, friendly and well mannered. He speaks English very well. I enjoyed his tour and also getting to know him. Bunyod as the agency was also easy to work with. They are organized and responsive. I would recommend them to those who are looking to explore Dushanbe and beyond.Written 1 June 2024
- Mdurian0 contributionsScenic drive and stunning rock formationLots of driving through beautiful landscapes before arriving at this special place. Enjoyed watching life go by on farms and in villages along the road, and the lake by a damm was very pretty. Stunning views and few visitors made this feel like a very peaceful place. The pickup was punctual, good driver and friendly guide, and while the lunch was fairly dull this was overall a very nice day. Lots of opportunities to take good pictures. The trip took 10h with a stop at the Hulbuk Castle on the way back. Overall, expensive trip but a big delight. If you can afford it don’t hesitate to go there.Written 28 May 2024
- Mdurian0 contributionsHalf-day tour to Hissar FortA nice and easy three hour half-day trip. Picked up on time in a new EV. Nice guided tour of Hissar and the castle complex. Good lunch before drop off. Overall a good experience.Written 28 May 2024
- Mdurian0 contributionsPleasant day excursion from DushanbeScenic drive through snow covered mountains to a pretty lake. Visited a number of sights around the lake - a 500m hike to a water fall, a flat grass area near the lake, and a sister lake. We had lunch by the Iskanderkul lake with local families and walked around and enjoyed the pleasant climate and fresh air. The driver/guide was excellent and shared many stories and insights. We were two solo travellers and it was a nice day trip - we started off at 8am and we were back around 15:30-16:00. The car (a Lexus) made the drive comfortable.Written 27 May 2024
- Mdurian0 contributionsGood start visiting Dushanbe and the country.Punctual pickup, decent car, young and friendly guide, and a good program to get to learn a bit about the capital and country. Started off with a walk around national monuments and parks. Visited the national museum that came to life thanks to a knowledgeable and enthusiastic museum guide. Visited some form of new presidential VIP center for high level meetings with lots of intricate wood carvings, marble, massive doors, huge round tables and heavy chandeliers - very picturesque kitch. The lunch at this center was a delicious plov, but I picked up a stomach bug either from the lemon tea or goat curd. We then visited a market/bazaar and more monuments plus a botanical garden that was very pleasant. The guide’s English and insights were somewhat limited but he was kind and friendly and took good care of me - overall I enjoyed this tour very much. It took around 6.5h in total.Written 27 May 2024

- Liz_hickson0 contributionsWonderful Hiking in TajikistanWe had the best time on our tour to the Seven Lakes. This company had been wonderful to deal with since we first made contact with them in Australia in terms of prompt communication and very explicit with content of the tour and pricing. Hokim our guide was excellent and again had great communication in terms of the plan for our trip and what to expect. The scenery is stunning and our hike in the mountains memorable and just what we wanted. The Home Stay in the mountains was perfect and we will never forget our Taj Breakfast by the river chatting to Hokim. We have been to over 120 countries and would highly recommend this company to help you enjoy the wonders of Tajikistan.Written 26 May 2024

I did pay the 230 usd, the most expensice day trip I ever took, and when you just take taxis (one for each country) you can do it for 70 usd, but I want certainty, and that is what this well organised tour gave me. The lakes are very beautiful, the roads up there a bit hazardous though.

Thank you for commitment but it it is package with two countries and it take much energy, especially border processing - in this, this package is a bit costly than other. However as you noted it is worth

Fantastic day trip from Samarkand to Dushanbe taking in the Seven Lakes, our tour guide was named Bobojon, he had great English and was a fantastic guide full of knowledge of Tajikistan
The scenery in the countryside of Tajikistan is fantastic, mountain ranges are spectacular, plenty of stops for photos in the Seven Lakes area, going through all the villages in the area was great to see how people live, such a remote part of the world
I was impressed with Bunyod Tour as a company, before travelling to Tajikistan I had an issue with my evisa been rejected by the authorities, this was an evisa I submitted myself, I contacted Bunyod Tour and the management advised me how to submit to evisa properly so the visa would be issued to me, about 3 hours after submitting the new application I was issued with the visa
I would recommend Bunyod Tour if I ever return to Tajikistan, I really hope to as it is a fantastic country with hospitable peoplr

Our tour guide was amiable and helpful. The drive and visit up to the 4th lake were agreeable. However, Sarazm and Rudaki Museum were completely skipped without any explanation. Considering the price and time spent there, it was not worth it. We would not recommend this tour from Bunyod.
