About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- sueguinane0 contributionsPhotos don't do this Basilica Justice! When we arrived at the meeting point, it seemed veery chaotic, with several groups all there together. Once it was time for the tour, it was all fine - each tour guide had their own channel on the audio guides and we sorted into groups quickly. When we entered the Basilica, I was glad we had opted for a guided tour - there is just so much to take in, and our guide, Lucia, was very knowledgeable about the history of the church and the artwork it contained. We saw both the Basilica itself and the Museum on the upper level. I would have liked to also see the Palo d'oro, but that wasn't an option we could book.Written 14 October 2024
- shclawson0 contributionsVisiting the off-shore island of MuranoWe love the ferry boat that operates between Venice and Murano. It’s easy to find at Venice, the cost is low, and the water is typically calm. The trip to Murano is 20-30 minutes, depending on the amount of other boat traffic and whether to boat stops at the island cemetery and/or cathedral (each worth a visit). Then your rewards are great photo opportunities from the boat and visiting Murano, a quaint island community of homes, shops, glass-blowing, and a museum. The residents are welcoming. The only thing we’ve noticed recently is that prices for glass and other items have increased quite a bit. It seems that Asian and perhaps other visitors are willing to pay more. However, bargaining usually is welcomed and will reduce your costs significantly. We have enjoyed it every time.Written 27 September 2024
- broden0 contributionsSkip unless you have nothing else to doShort walk with few low-intensity anecdotes. Not really deep or original. You can skip and instead just take a walk around the cityWritten 1 September 2024
- img3thomas0 contributionsA good-paced tour of the cathedral and the museum in an hourWe were looking for skip the like tickets for the next day. (because otherwise the line for free entrance into st mark’s cathedral is hours long in either the sun or rain. You can buy them online from the direct website for the cathedral and it’s only a few euro per person but they sell out a month in advance. So we were willing to pay a higher price for a skip the line ticket.) it turns out we could have bought just the skip the line ticket for 10€/person at the kiosk but we did not know that when we scheduled this tour. So instead we had an hour tour to skip the line into st mark’s (amazing and one of our favorite cathedrals to see) as well as entrance into the museum, which we hadn’t seen, and the loggia of horses or the original 4 horse statues (captivatingly beautiful imo). All of that in an hour. We had earpieces to be able to hear the guide and she was a lovely older lady who awed us in showing that age and stairs were not going to slow her down. The information she gave was great and interesting, though not as much history as my husband likes to hear. But as our children are aged 18, 16, 8, and 3, they would not have been as interested in the historical details. 1 hour seemed like a perfect amount as the 3yr old would not have lasted any longer. But the experience was wonderful. St mark’s cathedral is a favorite because of the age and the glittering gold tiles covering the entirety of the ceiling, but it still contains strong religious themes from the scriptures instead of the emphasis on homages to prominent political figures. In the end, we got to show our children a memorable marvel, see things in the museum new to us, and be done in an hour. And we got to see the dome glitter when the light was turned out that only is turned on in certain occasions. We appreciated that.Written 20 August 2024
- Anne-Marie S0 contributionsGreat tour and very nice guideWe really liked this tour, it was well organised and Giulia was very sweet and knowledgable. The stories were sad, scary and also funny, and we saw many parts of Venice we had not seen before. Definitely recommend!Written 18 August 2024
- Travel144807992350 contributionsDisappointedVery disappointing. The gondoliers seemed disinterested in taking us out and argued over who would do it. They were unfriendly, and our boatman did not say more than 6 words to us, these at the end asking if we enjoyed ourselves. Frankly, no. We spent half of the 20 min ride (paid for 30 but whatever) sitting still in the grand canal while other boats zipped by. Then we went down one of the least attractive side canals, clogged with other gondolas, came right back out and were deposited at the dock. I am certain other companies will give you your money's worth. I have seen them.Written 16 August 2024
- Mobile8139440 contributionsTerrible serviceThe ride was supposed to last 30 minutes and it only lasted 15 minutes. Also the "gondolero" was the whole time in his cellphone while operating the gondola. I complained with the person in charge who only told to contact provider. I called Viator and they addressed properly the situation.Written 12 August 2024
- 334adriennet0 contributionsPrivate ride on gondolaThe gondola ride was good as expected. However we paid €160 booking the trip online with trip advisor when you could just walk up to any of the gondolas and the standard cost was €90. There was absolutely no difference. We had to wait in line like everyone else, but paid an extra €70Written 4 August 2024
- F43YPmarias0 contributionsHorrible experienceIt was a horrible experience! Never buy online!! You’ll be so overcharged. I paid $211 online for private gondola for 30 minutes prior to going and when I got there, it was $110 and only gave me 15 minutes! Didn’t even give me the full amount of time and I was overcharged to begin with!Written 3 August 2024
- Z8334VBkirstyb0 contributionsBest Walking Ghost Tour!!This was honestly a fantastic experience. We were taken down lots of side streets which you would never think of exploring yourself. The stories about the plague and the plague islands was fascinating. The guide also told us about all the burial grounds scattered around Venice that churches are now build on top of. She also told us all about the abandoned palace and anyone who stayed there died a horrible death and that a girl haunts this palace. It is still abandoned to this da as no one will stay there. She told us stories about the baker boy and about the girls from wealthy families forced to become nuns so their fathers wouldn't have to give up their dowries. This was one of the best walking tours I have ever been on and I highly recommend. Thank you to our lovely guide. I unfortunately forget her name but she had blonde hair and wore glasses. She was just amazing.Written 20 July 2024

- Resort2620450 contributionsDisappointingThe itinerary was great but there were not enough breaks. The guide was knowledgeable but unfriendly. The organizers were unorganized. Most of them knew nothing about the gondola ride. We were supposed to get lunch recommendations. We did not get any. I would not do this tour with you again.Written 7 July 2024
- Y6892STjudithw0 contributionsDisappointing!A very disappointing experience. It lasted less than 45 mins. The guide said because of flooding in St Marc's Square she was unable to include 2 of the stories she would have told us about. She did tell us some interesting stories but we did not cover the itinerary indicated in you online information. The guide was apologetic but I feel we should have been compensated in some way either by a refund or a voucher for another experience as £25 was a lot for less than half of the walkWritten 18 June 2024

- BoardingPass5072620 contributionsVenice.. beautiful Venice!!Venice was truly magnificent.. the weather didn't deter our excitement and experiences. Our night tour was totally amazing with the streets feeling alive. Then our day tour with Mike..made it all comes to life with Venice's rich history. We totally enjoyed our gondola ride and the company. The restaurants were exceptional and the shopping as well. Wish we had more time here!! Awesome Venice!!Written 27 May 2024

Tour itinerary clearly includes Tre Cime but on that day itself the driver did not bring us there, citing a lack of time. We were brought to 2 towns (Cortina and Pieve di Cadore) and 2 lakes (Misurina and Auronzo). Lake Misurina is beautiful but still very disappointed that we did not make it to Tre Cime. It is a 20min drive from Lake Misurina. So close yet so far!

The tour with Simone was more than expected. His light sense of humor combined with a depth of character made the entire day so enjoyable and refreshing to my spirit. It was wonderful not to have to navigate while hearing about information and history of the areas we passed and visited. Our group left on time and the van was comfortable, with Simone supporting each person in the group with ease. Highly recommend.

Absolutely stunning beauty in every stop.
I could easily go back and spend a vacation in this area.
Our driver, Alberto, was a great and safe driver, friendly, and tried to answer questions in broken English. He was prompt and met us were described.
Don’t hesitate!!!! Favorite excursion while staying in Venice.

It was a most excellent experience with a great tour guide named Simone. I loved walking around the lake and eating local fare nearby. The scenery was majestic and great lookout points were chosen for photos. I recommend this tour. I only wish I could have stayed up in the mountains longer. This tour packs a lot in.

Our full-day tour to the Dolomites and Cortina was a wonderful trip. Getting out into the countryside anywhere is always magical. You leave the city and its energy behind for a more relaxed, enjoyable, true experience. Our guide, Simone, made the day perfect!

Hello,
I usually never write bad reviews about anyone but this was much needed. Me and my wife booked a private tour to dolomites. It costed us 850 euros. What the agency (Venice Events) initially offered us that you can go to Ortisei, Lake Misurina, Lake Auronzo, Cortina since its your private tour and not a group tour (In group tour, Ortisei is not included)
We paid 850 euros and booked the tour for both of us.
Next day we were supposed to meet at 8:15 am at the meeting point Piazzle Roma and we reached on time.
FIRST MISTAKE OF THE AGENCY: LACK OF INFORMATION
Surprisingly, we were not given the driver and the car details prior by the agency and we wasted first 15 minutes in just searching the driver. We called the agency four times and even sent a whatsapp message but they were least bothered to answer or reply. But finally we found the driver after a long time.
SECOND MISTAKE OF THE AGENCY: NOT ANSWERING CALLS OF THE CUSTOMER AND FAKE PROMISES
After we met the driver he told us about the plan of action and he said we will go to Ortisei and return back to venice at 5:00 pm. What about the other places ?
We were shocked to hear this as this was not what we were told while paying a hell lot of amount. Wasted another 15-20 mins in this argument. Again called the agency to reconfirm but still they did not answer our calls.
Anyhow we agreed to the driver and cancelled Ortisei and just went for Cortina, Lake Misurina and Lake Auronzo.
THIRD MISTAKE OF THE AGENCY: BEING RUDE TO CUSTOMERS
We requested the driver to cancel lake Auronzo and take us to Lake Braies which was equidistant and we would reach Venice after that at the same time
The driver was so rude to a point that he started arguing in a very disgusting language with my wife. When my wife asked him why was he using such a language and high tone he replied ‘THATS HOW WE ITALIANS ARE’
We had to get off the car as the driver was shouting on top of his voice.
We were just shocked to listen how the agency talks to their customers when the rude behavior was reported to the agency
When we booked the tour the owner of the tour told us since its a private tour you can fully customize it but just need to keep the time in mind which we already were following
Please beware of them as they would be extra sweet while booking the tour but wouldn’t even mind a bit if u are in trouble or their car drivers are rude to you.
Infact it seems they themselves book the cab drivers through some third party agency
Since even the driver wasn’t given half the information
Writing this elaborate review so that someone else’s hard earned money is saved!!
Not sure about their group tours but refrain from booking their private tours instead go for self drive and save your trip from getting spoiled.

The Dolomites tour was a great selection. Such beautiful, awesome scenery makes you appreciate the magnificence of Northern Italian nature. Our guide Francesco was very good. He was informative with facts and anecdotes that made the tour up to Dolomites interesting. He also selected a very good spot for lunch at a lake on the way. All in all, we were very happy with the tour, and would highly recommend it.
