Highly recommend …just completed multiple nights of once in a life time memories…everyone enjoyed the food, wine, people & events

Amazing tour with One on the Hill and our guide Riste! He picked us up at our hotel in an electric car and off we went. The company selected two family-run wineries for us to visit, where we learned a lot and tried many wines. Neither place pushed us to purchase anything, which we appreciated (though we did end up buying a couple of bottles at each place). We also enjoyed lunch in between the two stops at a nice restaurant in Alba - Riste let us have lunch privately and then picked us up after. Everything was very well organized and professional - and Riste was as well. It was expensive, but probably our favorite experience in the Langhe region.

The truffle hunting tour with Marta, Frederica, and Bella was the highlight of a 5star trip in northern Italy. Marta has love for her partner, Bella a 6 month old puppy who is clearly a prodigy. She found 6-7 black truffles and one white in short order. Marta explained how to carefully dig for them in order to protect the trees and roots. Dress properly for this kind of experience as you’ll be running through the forest after the dog—long pants and sturdy shoes.

Great experience with Pier and Chef Fabio -- the food was excellent, fun wine pairings, and Pier and Fabio are a great time. Will definitely host a Piemonte Night again soon

Pier and team are incredible. Knowledgeable, professional, and fun! This is truly a top notch wine tour experience. A private experience and the perfect way to enjoy some delicious wines in family owned wineries.

Nicola was amazing and picked us up at the train station in Alba! He whisked us off to Vietti where we had an amazing tour. Then to a fantastic restaurant in Alba and our final winery at Giuseppe Cortese. He even dropped us off at our Airbnb in Govone.

We spent a lovely day with Pier, driving through the Langhe wine region, learning about and tasting Barbaresco and Barolo wines. Pier is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about this wine region and all it has to offer. He drove us safely and comfortably in his Tesla, and conversation was easy. We really enjoyed the recommended restaurant for lunch in Alba. And Pier even made us reservations for lunch and a tasting for the following day. We enjoyed it so much we joined his wine club, which is very progressive for this fairly traditional area. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes wine and would like to learn more.

If you visit the area of Langhe, you love wine and if you love wine, you want to taste the wine. One thing to do: book One On The Hill. It is an amazing experience. Pierandrea is a good expert in wine and he drives you around (in his Tesla) to the nice vineyards to taste. He knows a lot about the region, the wine, the food to combine,... It's a nice man to have around, with a lot of knowledge. He has a good relationship with the vineyards and helps you on the spot with which wines to choose on an honest and respectful way. We are very glad we have met him, a friendship and expert to hold on to learn more about the wine and of all to buy local if we go on holiday :-). If you become a member of his Wine Club, you receive wines during the year, which is a wonderful concept. One thing on the side, but for our as parents so important. We have a 2 year old son, Luca, so we were doubting by doing the trip, but Pierandrea made a whole new program to adapt to our son, so big thank you for that. Bottom line: just do it!

As a Chef I’m passionate about food and wine! We had an amazing time with Pier and Chiara. The tour was designed according to my palate and preferences. Such a good experience!!!

We had such an incredible day wine tasting with Pier - growing up in CA and as a wine lover, you know that the best wineries are the ones that locals point you to, not necessarily the ones you'll find on your own even with mad internet research skillz. Needless to say it was clear Pier had a genuine relationship with the wineries we visited, and a great understanding of the Langhe wine region. We had great conversation throughout the day getting to know him more, and discuss the differences between the Barbera, Nebbiolo, Barbaresco and Barolo wines we tasted. It feels like we walked away from the experience a little bit richer, both in wine bottles and friendship. Must do if you're in the Piemonte area.

One on the Hill was a fantastic & memorable experience! Pierandrea is a very personable and knowledgable guide - and introduced us to the wines & winemakers of the Piedmont region in a way that felt authentic and personalized. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the region & looking to learn about and taste delicious wine.

We were unsure if hiring a private guide was right for us but boy are we REALLY glad we toured with Nicola from One On The Hill. (We met Pier, and he was super nice too). Going around with someone who knows the vineyards, the area, and is a private driver for the day made our experience incredibly special and valuable. We were able to see private areas of the vineyards and cellars not typically available. We left with a really great understanding of the Barolo and Barbaresco areas so that we can make more educated wine purchasing decisions on our own. Lastly, we just had a really enjoyable day. Nicola went the extra mile to ensure our two days with him were nothing short of exceptional. Thank you One On The Hill!

We had a very nice wednesday with Pier. Two excellent tastings wirh a lot of information and a delicious lunch. we enjoyed very much.

If you want to learn about Italian wine country, book this tour! Pier was extremely knowledgeable in a friendly, unpretentious way. Spending the day with him gave us an experience we could not have had on our own. Highly recommend!

If you are an independent traveler without a guide, it is difficult to find the small Piedmont wine producers making quality wine who will have the time, facilities, and English speaking staff to offer you an in-depth wine tasting experience. Before we discovered Pier and his concierge service, we ended up at wineries doing commercialized tastings along with tour buses full of people. Pier made appointments for us for private tastings at small wineries in both the Barolo and Barbaresco areas. We were expected and warmly welcomed, and offered tastings of the full range of wines made by that producer (usually at least 8 different wines, including highly coveted reserve bottlings). He made lunch reservations for us at unique, excellent restaurants where again we were welcomed as special guests. (And we were traveling with our 6-year old grandson which was not a problem at all; the wineries welcomed him with juice and grissini.). Pier’s extensive knowledge of and relationships with the many local producers allows him to tailor the day to your specific wants and interests. And he also offers a wine club which allows you to continue experiencing the high quality wines from small local producers that you could never find in the U.S. This concierge service is worth every penny, and I would never go again to a wine region without it, even though I have traveled in Italy on my own many times! (And we joined the wine club.)
