- Mary S0 contributionsAn unforgettable day in St LuciaWe had a wonderful day with our guide, Dylan. He listened so carefully to our interests and customized our tour. He is charmingly and genuinely committed to giving his customers an unforgettable time The island was breathtaking and our buffet lunch at Beacon restaurant was delicious. I highly recommend this tourWritten 15 March 2025
- Michael H0 contributionsJavon was Awesome! Our guide Javon was fantastic and I would highly recommend him. We toured the entire island, ate a very good lunch with views of the Piton’s.Written 14 March 2025
- Resort7974180 contributionsSt Lucia did not disappoint!!We got to the taxi stand early and Viernele was waiting for us and we started tour early. We told him our interests/'must see' items and off we went. Viernele was very friendly and helpful. The Pitons, Volcano tour and Moho beach were on our 'must see' items and they did not disappoint. The vehicle was very clean and comfortable. I would recommend this private tour to anyone!Written 10 March 2025
- FoodieLuxury0 contributionsVery good private tour with AdrianWe had a very good tour from cruise port to soufriere with Adrian. Adrian van was very clean and he was on time. Gave us a lot of info about St Lucia. Highly recommend.Written 7 March 2025
- HotelTurnaround0 contributionsFriendly and helpful driverOur driver was friendly and helpful, but he was not a tour guide in any way. We had to ask questions to get the answers. That’s not the driver’s fault as it’s a taxi company, not a tour guide company. So the only thing missing from this $220, 6 hour adventure was useful and interesting information about the island and its history. I would recommend using a different company so that you get value for money and the information that you need.Written 5 March 2025
- David B0 contributionsPoor Tour in supposed ParadiseThis was an awful tour. 6 hours in the back of a taxi driving no more than 15 miles an hour over pot hole ridden roads. Nice and green but saw very little else. Mud baths ok, and quick bimble through the Botanical Gardens. Driver never even supplied a bottle of water which tours on Grenada and St Vincent did. When your paying £243 its a basic provision I would of thought. Total waste of aday and money. Hyped up to something it's not. NEVER SAW A BEACH ALL DAY. St Lucia not the Jewel in the Carribean for me anyway.Written 26 February 2025
- viviantC3689WS0 contributionsExperiencing St Lucia islandWe did the St Lucia private island tour in February. Our tour guide Viernele Pinder was the best! He was very knowledgeable about the island. We saw Marigot Bay, Castries, a fishing village, Soufriere, stopped at scenic points. We did the sulphur springs and mud baths, hiked the Teton Paul Nature Trail where we got breathtaking views of the Pitons. Viernele was great about taking some photos of us. Stopped to get us a reasonable priced lunch which was delicious. He went out of his way to make sure that we were having a good time and seeing all the things we wanted to see. The ride was long and bumpy due to the condition of the roads, but Viernele was an excellent driver. He maneuvered through some road work that was going on and difficult traffic situations. He had some Piton beers and water for us to enjoy along the way. Great way to see the island!Written 22 February 2025
- Charla H0 contributionsFun day seeing the island. Adrian was our driver. He is an excellent day showing us the highlights of the island.Wonderful day seeing the island highlights and tasting the local foods. Adrian was informative about the island and helped us to understand the life of the locals. 100% recommend.Written 21 February 2025
- W8938BVcindyc0 contributionsBeautiful IslandMatthew was a wonderful guide that personalized our day. We saw the beautiful island ending at the volcano and mud baths. We would highly recommend this tour, especially for first time visitors.Written 19 February 2025
- michaelhK9267QC0 contributionsExploring St. LuciaWow, what a great day. Tory was our driver and she took us to Marigot Bay where we took some great pictures. Then we went to Latille Waterfalls & Gardens were the hungry fish nibbled on the bottom of our feet and toes. That was followed by a history tour of the 'drive in volcano' & finally a stop at the Diamond waterfalls and Gardens. Tory answered all of our questions & her insight helped us get a great understanding of the island. Definitely worth the money.Written 18 February 2025
- davidcH2104VK0 contributionsSt. Lucia Private Island tourLenizi took us everywhere we wanted to go and was very knowledgeable at the botanical garden and diamond Falls. we also enjoyed the volcanic mud baths, and he took us on several special interest points along the way. The only downside to the trip was the fact that the roads were being reworked and so it was a little bumpy ride at times, but that was not the fault of the driver or the tour company whatsoever.Written 15 February 2025
- marieColumbus0 contributionsGreat private tour of st Lucia.Best way to see the island. Our guide Vernal was accommodating and pleasant. Private tour allowed us to spend as much or as little time as we liked at each sight.Written 14 February 2025
- R7349KXlisac0 contributionsAmazon Day on Private Tour in St LuciaWe had the most amazing day with Javan!! Best tour guide ever! We laughed as much as enjoyed every stop and every view. He was so accommodating and friendly and down to earth. When we visiting again we will be asking for Javan!!!Written 12 February 2025
- nancywY5504FM0 contributionsOne day in St Lucia with JasonOur driver was Jason, he was at the St Lucia cruise port on time to meet us. He was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the island. He helped my husband and I meet all our goals by keeping us on schedule to be able to see all that we wanted to see and do in 6 hours. We hiked the Tet Paul Nature Trail, soaked in the sulphur baths and rinsed off under a waterfall. He even made sure we had time to eat lunch and brought us to a restaurant high on the mountain that offered a delicious buffet of local cusine. And he got us the best table overlooking Soufriere with a breathtaking view of the Pitons. Jason went out of his way to make our trip to St Lucia very memorable. We enjoyed our entire day with him, he was a top notch tour guide. He was a stranger when we met but felt like a good friend when we parted.Written 8 February 2025
- 478deannas0 contributionsLong and winding roads to mud bathsNoel was our guide and was easy to find at the port. He was friendly and informative about the island. We stopped several times along our route. The first stop was above Marigot Bay for a view. Noel was a great photographer at all of our stops. Bananas are the number two industry behind tourism so we stopped at a stand to try some banana ketchup and house made banana liquors. Our next three stops were ok. A guy with a snake wanted some cash for a picture. An overview was our next stop that had a gift shop. When asked if we wanted to stop at a chocolate factory, I was thinking we would see the process of making chocolate from bean to bar. It was really just a fancy chocolate shop. I would skip it next time. The Twin Pitons are St. Lucia’s claim to fame. We enjoyed a Piton beer while admiring its beauty at an overlook. The La Soufriere Volcano hasn’t erupted since 1776. Today you can see steam rising from it. You can also take a mud bath in its hot sulfer springs, which we did! We then rinsed off the mud in the cool and refreshing waterfall nearby. It was a great trip, but be warned the trip is VERY curvy and long. If you are prone to motion sickness, take medication. We were offered a lunch stop but declined. It’s a long ride to the volcano and the traffic near the port is very congested. Noel did get us back to the ship in plenty of time!Written 28 January 2025

Please be warned there is an entrance fee to gros piton not included in this purchase! We got caught out but luckily had some money on us. The hike itself was absolutely stunning, as you walk through some lovely forest and get some lovely views. It is very steep with big steps and rocks and can be strenuous in places. The tour guide for the hike (not our driver) appeared quite grumpy and most of the time was ahead of us. We cannot fault our taxi driver, he pointed out places of interest along route and was happy to stop along the way for us to take photos. Overall was worth doing 🙂

We are sorry to hear that you were not aware that entrance fees were not included in the price. It is mentioned in there of that the entrance are not included and also it is telling you how much the entrance fees are.
But overall looks like you enjoyed it very much and you were very much satisfied with the service that was provided to you.
We do welcome you as a new member of our traveling family and do look forward in continuing serving you and many more in the near future.
Thank You!!!

We were very disapointed with St Lu Taxi and Tours indeed. We had booked a Private Gros Piton Hike prior to departing on our holiday.
The booking process was an easy exchange of emails, so a tick in that box.
From reading the discription I believed I was booking and inclusive tour that would take us from our hotel to Gros Piton where we would be given a private guide who would led us to the top of the Piton. I was wrong it would seem, in spite of all of the correspndence I recieved indicating that my assumption was correct.
We were collected from our hotel on time, the drive was very nice and provided us with a great trip to the Piton and a guide to everything that we passed on the way. Another tick in the box.
On arrival at the piton we were informed that the despit already having paid $304 USD this did not include the fee for being guided up the mountain. Another $50 USD per person was required for the two guides we would need. I retrieved my paperwork and showed the staff at the Piton that I had already paid, they said this was not the case. They kindly offered to speak to St Lu Taxi and Tours to straighten things out. This they duly did, as a result of the conversation I was handed the phone and spoke with Sammy the propriotor of ST LKu Taxi and Tours. I was told by him that what I had paid was not for a private tour but effectively a $304 taxi ride and it was in the "terms and conditions of my confirmation. It was clear to me after a few minutes that I was banging my head on a wall. The conversation was abruptly ended. We paid the additional $50 USD as we had come a long way to do the hike.
We duly got to the top and back down. Whereupon I re read all of the correspondence I had been sent and no where on there was it clear that I was expected to fund the hike.
If like me your read "a private Gros Piton Hike in St Lucia" as just that and not as a taxi ride then additional payment for the hike you are at best being mislead and at worse having the wool pulled over your eyes.
The way in which St Lu Taxi and Tours handled me on the phone was appaling.
I would not recommend booking an tour with this company.

People book on just title but do not read the details and what is included and not included in what they are booking hence the reason it is all listed in the writeup of the bookings. Then they will say that they did not know what was included and not included such as tickes for entrance fees.

First, while researching all these Gros Piton hike trips, I found out that all of them required you to pay the entrance fee for the national park separately - that got you a 'guide' - so in effect paying for this trip got you a lift to and from the start point of the walk. The drive waited for you so you were paying for a driver for the day.
However, the walk itself took us five hours and the drive to the start and back weas an hour and a half each way, so this was absolutely necessary. You could hire a car but there was no way I would have wanted to or been able to drive afterwards, and Im sure there was some organizing needing to be done to get our private guide.
Plus, our driver Jason was very friendly and funny, told us a lot about the island while driving us there and we had a comfortable air conditioned vehicle to get there and back with no worries about getting lost.
Yes you could probably get a bus but it made everything so much easier booking through this company and I would recommend it to anyone. .

We had an incredible tour! Bucket list worthy! This is a challenging hike, but well worth it. I didn’t realize the tour didn’t include the entrance fee, so just be mindful of that and it is far from the port (about a 2 hour ride). So it’s best to allow PLENTY of time. You can also rent walking sticks for $5 (Definitely worth it) Our driver was fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly and an amazing navigator! We were pressed for time and she did an amazing job getting us back to the port in time. We made it back to the ship with other cruisers cheering us on from their balconies. I want to give a special thanks to her!!

Hiking the Pitons - “Unfinished Business”
This review is at the request of Ada McGlone Lester.
We booked a private tour through St. Lu Taxis and Tours. Upon exiting the ship promptly at 9:30am, we made our way to the taxi area where our driver Richard had a sign with our last name. We quickly found his van and off we went. The drive is around 1 hour and 45 minutes. Inasmuch as we watched YouTube videos to be adequately prepared, a time constraint was not one of the pre-excursion factors. Richard, who was born on St. Lucia, but also served in the US Army, was full of information on the island as well as the surrounding islands. Over our three hours in the van round trip, we learned more about St. Lucia than our prior two visits combined. As a side note, we took the ‘eastern’ route there and ‘western’ route back, which you can see on the maps screenshot I took at the beginning of the trail.
We arrived at the base of the Pitons and were assigned a guide that works for the Foundation. It’s $50 a person to hike and that money is used for everything down to guide uniforms. Of the 3,200+ passengers onboard, a grand total of 6 (including us as 2) attempted to make the climb. This should have been a sign, but being a dumb American this was our DESTINY.
Our Guide Abigail showed us the washroom, made sure we had an adequate amount of water and off we went…
The trail is broken down into 4 quarters, each becoming progressively more difficult as you make the trek. Leaving at 11:22am and having to be back to our van no later than 3:00pm we had 3 hours and 38 minutes to climb the mountain. At this point you fully comprehend what 2 hours up and 2 hours down AT A GOOD PACE really means…
At the first 1/4 stopping point we knew. You slowly start working through the five stages of grief as your body gets worn down, you are sweating more than you are drinking water and the usage of your hands on the rocks increases. But between 1/4 and 1/2 you still have HOPE. And while hope is a powerful thing, it can only take you so far in the game of the Pitons.
After a long hour+ grind we made it to the 1/2 way point were ran into 3 out of 4 of our fellow cruisers. The lone 1 was giving their all to making it to the top. At this point Abigail had to break us the news this was it. Mathematics was not our friend and we could go no further. Nooooo! I tried the stage of bargaining to little reception and slowly worked my brain into the final stage, acceptance. This was it, if we continue, make it to the top, hopefully, and miss the ship all aboard time. Nooooo!
After a few pictures with a stunning view, back down we started… Now going down has its own set of challenges, but we made it with one break.
Once we said our goodbye's to our trusted guide, we named this adventure “unfinished business” as we will be returning to complete the task. Richard got us back to our ship and after a second set of goodbye’s and a thank you for his service to our Country we hit a couple shops and back on the ship. Upon arriving to our cabin, our incredible Head Butler AG had a much needed cheese plate waiting. Sometimes it really pays to share your upcoming plans.
This is being written at the Martini Bar before we give Fine Cut on The Beyond a try. Another food review to come later… Cheers from The Beyond where the score is Pitons: 1 Us: 0.
Safe travels…

This company is a SCAM. They charged me for a private tour and hike of the Gros Piton and all they did was drive me there and back. I had to pay for the actual hike in addition. Their driving was very dangerous and we almost got into a crash and fell down a ravene. We thought we were going to die. Also they took pictures of us without consent. I have requested a partial refund and they sent me a letter refusing to do so. I will be suing them, Viator and Trip Advisor for what I consider one of the worst days of our lives.

This specific person has done this maliciously because they requested a refund by saying to tripadvisor/viator that the tour did not take place. And to our defense we had copies of forms they signed at the hiking area in reference to their health and my driver took a photo of them being sick from the driving. This was our evidence we had which caused tripadvisor/viator not to approve their refund. Now they have placed 2 very bad review about our company. I do not know how this was allowed. I do not feel this review should be posted.
Our review do say a lot about our business because they have all been great 5 star reviews except for a few. who always want to try something and did not succeed.

My wife and I will be staying at theHideaway at the Royalton. Will we be picked up there? Also since it is private will it just be the two of us and the guide for this excursion? Thanks in advance

Hi there, I would just like to make sure this is a private tour so if I book for 2 people it will just be 2 of us on the tour, not other families?

*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
