Stop At: Parque de Sabaneta, Carrera 43, Sabaneta 055450 Colombia
After we pick you up at your place we head south of Medellin to another city.
In this beautiful colonial city we visit different food stands just to pick the best ones to try out.
Our first snack is the Chocolo Arepa.
We are going to try the Chocolo type, which is a different type than the white Arepa that you probably tried already. Chocolo Arepa is sweeter and has a different taste compared to the regular white one.
Some of our guests find the Chocolo Arepa similar to the Pancake, let’s see what you think when you try it.
Our second snack is a buñuelo: A fried dough ball. Our Buñuelo is made with cheese and the surface is usually crunchy, very common throughout the year but specially on christmas.
Let’s spice the things up a bit!!
What kind of food tour in Medellin would be this one if you don’t get to try what we drink at parties and celebrations?
Our next stop will be to try a sip of Aguardiente our traditional alcohol made from anise seeds.
Medellin’s own “Aguardiente Antioqueño” has won several awards thanks to its quality and taste, that’s why we feel confident that you are going to like it.
To make this drinking experience even more exciting you will try it at place full of customary taverns in Medellin, where the Aguardiente has been traditionally drunk: Fondas Paisas.
To help to wash down the Aguardiente we will have our next snack: Empanada.
Empanadas are a mold of pastry filled with potatoes or rice and ground meat, usually fried.
After the empanada we are going to try a very particular piece of meat (we won´t tell you what it is until after you have tried it) but here is a clue: has its roots in Argentina but with a different name.
Fruits are also part of our Food Tour in Medellin
Did you know that Colombia has the greatest diversity in edible fruits in the world?
That’s why in our Food Tour in Medellin we included a juice tasting so you can try 4 different fruits blend in with water or milk.
All these fruits are hard to find in other parts of the world so we are sure you are going to love this part as they are unique.
Our final destination is one of the most magical places in this city.
It’s a coffee farm owned by the most gracious and kindest farmers where we are going to try authentic and mind-blowing home made food.
Most of this food is colombian recipies therefore you don´t find it in regular restaurants.
As we eat this delicious food you´ll try a local specialty: Colombian beer mixed with a soda drink called “Colombiana”, what’s more local than that?
Locals call it Refajo and it’s totally worth the shot as it is refreshing and not as bitter as a regular beer.
After the “picada and refajo” we are having a unique product only found at this farm, the COFFEE TEA.
This Coffee Tea is a product we´re creating at this farm, it doesn´t have caffeine and it has an amazing taste different than coffee, take the tour and find out the fruity notes.
The vibe of this place is amazing, the view over the city from there make it the perfect final stop of this memorable foodie experience.
As you can read this Food Tour in Medellin includes almost everything you´d like to try from our cuisine.
Think no more and book now, we promise you it will be an unforgettable great experience.
