      Beware of Misleading Hours
Beware of misleading open hours. We arrived at the museum at 18:05 and were told we could not enter even though they are open until 19:00. We arranged our sightseeing to finish our day here and Ubered here from across town after reading that you can see it in approximately 45-60 minutes. Super disappointing!

      Average museum experience
Great concept. Some staff friendly. Would have been better with more staff to explain the exhibits and help with photos. This was ok but could have been better.

      Too expensive
Bit of a tourist trap. Fine for a few photos but nothing out of the ordinary. Friendly and helpful staff. Quite pricey for maybe an hours of entertainment.

Superb addition to the city’s attractions
A new arrival on the city’s cultural scene, it’s a superb addition. We consider it a must see for anyone fascinated with illusions and the tricks our minds continuously play on us. With knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff it was great strolling around and observing each of the exhibits. Bilingual explanations supplemented by avid staff input make for an enjoyable couple hours. Using properties of the physical world, particularly of light, and its interactions with our brain and how it interprets this input, make for fascinating displays. A great one comprises a straight bolt threading through two nuts, a physical impossibility. But made to appear real and possible. Another intriguing item shows a rotating straight stick fitting through a curved opening, something we intuitively believe impossible. Impressions of infinite depth are to be observed in quite shallow compartments. A room filled with all-round mirrors conjure up infinitely receding images of the observer.

Fun museum in the center of Oslo, with a lot of fun photo opportunities
Paradox museum is a fun place to spend an hour or two. There are a lot of visual paradoxes, and many good photo opportunities. I especially loved the Escher room, and the infinite mirror room. There are friendly guides to help you, and also camera icons on the floor to show where you should stand to take photos. Would be nice if the music could be turned down, as there is enough sound already.

    Expensive and disappointing!
A little too large pools of people, so it was not possible to see everything. A number of things were also out of order. Took about 30 minutes to go through the exhibition.
Rather, I recommend going to the Technical Museum.

Some fun exhibits and great photo opportunities. The staff (particularly Ksenia) were helpful and wandered through the museum offering to take photos and giving advice about getting the ‘best’ photo. My one complaint is that they were (quietly) offering families of four half price discount the week we were there and if you weren’t a family of four, tough!! So I paid 100kr more for me and my son to explore the museum than the family of two parents and two children in front of us.

Dirty and very worn installations. Some installations were not even working. This place needs maintenance!

Staff is none existant, and in the rare moment they happened to be there, were very unhelpful and more interested on chatting with each other or hidding behind their phones.

Easter weekend means you will receive a good flow of people, prepare in advance for this!
The experience from the very beginning was chaotic, the cloakroom is very very small and worn. It lacks a proper locker room where you can safely leave your jackets, bags. No control whatsoever of who enters.

The staff should try to direct people on how to use the installation, yes there was a 1 minute video giving instructions by the very entrance, and a wall full of them too. Yes, we understand is all about the use of technology by scanning a QRcode for instructions, and having teenages means we had masters of this.... But some of your attendees are not technology wizards and/ or have very small children and don't have time to read carefully the instructions. Here the staff could jump in and be more proactive and helpful.

Since there were big crowds, courtesy is expected when taking turns on each installation, after all that's why booking a time slot was supposed to be about, but staff didn't respect the time slots and people sometimes need a staff member to remind them to wait for their turn and encourage them to follow instructions.

Really fun activities in this museum. Come early because it is louder noise volume later during day. My friend and I laught so much and got funny pictures. Would recommend for small kids to as old as you get but can walk. Took 1,5 hour. So have lots of time and don't stress

We visited Paradox Museum Oslo with our two children aged 5 and 8 and it was an unforgettable experience! From the start we were greeted by friendly staff and fascinating exhibitions. The kids loved the interactive installations, especially the optical illusions and mirror labyrinths. The museum is both educational and fun, with many photo opportunities.

All in all, an incredibly fun and educational day for the whole family. We highly recommend Paradox Museum Oslo!

We did not find this museum in so called "Top 10" sightseeing in Oslo. However, this museum in very unique and hidden gem, in my opinion. We spent about two hours enjoying the interactive feature of this museum. Staff were very helpful and very eager to demonstrate what should be done to maximise the enjoyable experience. If you use QR code reader in your smartphone, then you can enjoy more. If not, you can always ask staff. Very good experience for old couple, but young citizens (including kids), and family can enjoy this museum. Unfortunately, it is not part of Oslo card, but.

My friend and I, both in our 40s, visited. Helpful staff and lots of installations that twisted our brains and made us laugh a lot. The two main attractions weren't working, but everything else was both interesting and fascinating. Highly recommend, even better if you're a group of three or more, since some of the installtions require two people doing something and a third taking pictures.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Paradox Museum in Oslo this summer. The staff were super helpful in the rooms with the most complex tricks and we learned a lot about optical illusions! I can see how it could be less enjoyable when crowded, so you just have to aim for a quiet time! :)

Great experience for the kids, lots of things to see. Could be easier to find, but once you're there, you are well taken care of and it is easy to get started. We spent around 40 minutes for the whole tour, and there was a lot of fun and interesting exhibits to experience. The QR code instructions could have been more intuitive and easy. The kids had a good time, and it was well worth the money and time.

Thank you so much for the review! So glad to hear the kids had a blast exploring all the exhibits. We'll look into making the QR code instructions easier to follow. Hope to see you again for another fun visit!

We came and the booking was full. Already then, we thought this was a good experience! I booked tickets for two hours later, and payed a lot of money for it. We were two adults and a child who´s 5 years old, and I payed 600+ NOK.

The wardrobe is tiny, with very little space for clothes. So there were jackets on the floor even. The exhibision is not mind blowing. A lot of mirrors, some well known illusions and not so interactive as I got the feeling from the website.
It was a bit dirty, worn and very hot.

Had some things that were interesting, but overall, not worth the money!
