This trip I got to see the most whales closely than I did on the other trip I went on

Now partially that will be due to the animals, however we did chase them. Which sadly does seem to be needed if you want to guarantee a good encounter.

On the outside of the boat you will feel very close to the whales as it's quite low down and at some parts just a bit of railing between you and the water

You will do a lot of the spotting for the driver and pointing and he will drive and take you closer to the whales when you see them once you're in the area

It's a lot of fun but ofc probably not the nicest experience for the whales, when we get close to them the engine is turned off though.

You are encouraged to change into thermals before going outside and I highly recommend this, once I did, I wasn't cold at all

The worst part of the trip is the seating due to it being a small boat you're mostly packed into rows of 3 like an airplane that are close together so there is no getting past people to get out and changing is a pain.

Soup was served to guests before I was back inside so I couldn't get to my window seat and spilled my soup all over myself stood up

This took away from the 5 star experience but I definitely felt more in awe with the animals on this trip, I'm really glad I went

Absolutely amazing, cannot recommend enough. Thank you all so much. We left promptly at 8am, the boat ride out was stunning and the guide advised us we would hopefully see whales around 2hr 45 in, however around 2 hours in we were lucky enough to come across a gorgeous pod of orcas. 3 hours in we saw countless orcas and then again were so so lucky to come across 30/40 humpbacks. It was spectacular. I really liked that the boat got close enough for you to see but kept their distance from these beautiful animals, it didn’t feel like we were intruding.
Tip- wear the suits provided as it is so cold if you are outside for hours. On board is warm and comfy, hot drinks provided all day as well as soup

Thanks to the whole team, smiling, funny and so kind for this great trip to the sea.
We were able to admire orcas and whales, thanks to the "nose" of the captain who found the best spots.
The great soup, the snacks, the beverages, everything was really perfect, unforgettable outing.

We got a request to move our booking the day before, which we couldn’t accommodate, and then got our tour cancelled without any rationale later that evening. Really bad customer experience although it seems that we at least get our money back.

Luckily we succeeded to find last minute availability with Silent Whale Watching which honoured our booking and was likely much better anyway!

I wouldn’t trust a booking with a tour operator who cancels a tour the night before without giving any reasonable rationale.

Thank you for your feedback. The tour got canceled due to a mechanical problem with both engines on board. The reasoning for why it was canceled in the evening is that we worked the whole day to try to fix the problem, but as soon as we realized that we would not have the boat ready for the tour, we notified you. Mechanical problems which lead to that we cannot proceeding with any of our tours is really frustrating and disappointing for us and for you. I can assure you that when we discovered a problem with the boat, we all tried our best to handle the issue as professionally and smoothly as possible. We do thank you for your feedback and we will be sure to take measures to handle situations like this better in the future. Best regards,

We were asked to be seated in the lower part of the cabin where we almost throw up. Boat is small which makes it shaky and over-crowded. Won’t come again or recommend to anyone. You might better choose a bigger boat.

Thank you for your feedback. There are pros and cons to going with smaller boats, especially when it is difficult to weather. On larger boats, you do not get the same movement as smaller boats like ours, but then again, on the bigger boats, you do not get so close to the whales as we do. Some do also get very seasick and some do not get seasick at all, we are aware of this and the crew will help you with advice and take care of you if you do get seasick.

Really rough weather and stormy snow storm, not enough space in the boat for number of people, especially when some became unwell. I did not feel the crew keep a eye on people to ensure of their safety, or checking everyone was., or warning when the boat was suddenly going to speed up so you could get in a better safer area. The outside of the boat very icy, no good rails all around to use, and view from inside poor. The crew was friendly. There was no focus on seabirds . No information that it will take 3 hours to get to spot, and because of the weather was4+ hours getting back, with limited space ( where people unwell) was not pleasant.

Dear guest, thank you so much for your opinion. We understand, that some of our guests have small or no experience of boat- life. You have to understand that we live up here and have experience with very rough weather conditions. The day you describe was a normal windy day up north. You should see a real snow storm up here, then you would not complain about the wind blowing a bit :) If we in advance know that it will be very windy, we offer our guests a full refund, to reschedule or another excursion. We put safety first. For the ones that choose to go anyway, we explain that this is a longer and more adventures tour maybe not for the fainthearted. Of curse it`s a bit icy outside, as you are on a boat out in the Arctic. Our boats are built in the Arctic as rescue boats for bigger groups to evacuate people in stormy conditions. As we don`t use our boats full capacity, I can`t imagine anyone with knowledge saying they feel unsafe on board with us. I have full respect for your emotions but if you asked us before booking this adventure we would not recommend it to you. Take care and welcome back a less windy day :) Kind regards Marlene and the crew

We went as our first excursion in Tromso at the start of the week. It was quite cold but very warm inside. Soup they served on the way back was tomato soup and was amazing. Seas were a little rough in some places and some of the group were ill. 3.5 hours there and 3.5 hours back with around 2 hours viewing in the calm fjord waters. No WiFi but did have mobile reception. Raoul was incredibly enthusiastic and inclusive guide. As we mostly slept on the way there and back, potentially aim to have this at the end of the week.

Nice trip on the boat, along the fjords and in the magical moment of the (almost) sunrise. A beautiful scenario while reaching the destination. We were lucky, being able to see whales and orcas since we arrived at the designated area.
The way back was rough since the weather conditions worsened rapidly (but those sailors should know better).
The boat is ok, although it really needs some maintenance on the interiors. The staff was friendly, but they gave us really a little information on the activity. During the "hunt", also, no one told us what was going on and we understood we were leaving only because the boat increased the speed considerably.

Thank you for your feedback. We really hope you had a nice time with us and that you got to see and experience what you came for. Our crew and captain has long experience on the sea in the Arctic waters. We know that the weather can change, so sometimes the sea can be a bit rough. We have to go the same way back and the "bad sea" is present over a certain distance, depending on wind direction and coverage from the mountains. We appreciate the feedback and we will be sure to take measurements to make our tour better. Have a happy new year!

We were on a Whale Safari trip. It was totally amazing! Crew took us to a wonderful place, where there was lots of hummocks and orcas. Wonderful views.
Crew was also perfect. Kenneth was telling lots of interesting things about the area, Kalinka is the best chef of the world, her fish soup was the best I've ever eaten. (She is best entertainer also, very communicative and helpful).

I want to recommend it to everybody who is visiting Tromsø. I regret much that we didn't have time to look for northlights with them.
