Love food and new cities but hate tourist trap eateries? Use your time in Vienna to scout out the coffee shops, chocolatiers, and markets that serve up the city's best bites. This Vienna food tour is packed with tips for places to eat and specialities to try, plus you'll discover trendy neighborhoods with your local guide. Group size is limited to just 12 people for a personalized experience.
What to Expect
Meet your guide at a convenient central Vienna spot, and stroll with your small group of fellow foodies to Neubau, a hip district many visitors miss, despite it being close to the Ringstrasse.

Along the way, you'll stop for a caffeine fix at an historic coffee shop that dates back to the 17th century and then call on at the hotel known for inventing Sacher torte, Vienna's famous cake made with signature chocolate ganache and apricot jam.

Stroll onward through vibrant Mariahilf and visit the outdoor markets of Brunnenmarkt and Naschmarkt; perhaps browse the stalls for organic treats and sweet souvenirs, such as fruity wine (uhudler) to take home. With your tour nearing the end, you'll relax over more samples at a nearby restaurant, savoring fresh vegetables, fish, and cheese.

Finish with a drink at a Neubau coffee shop and learn about Austrian café culture before you bid your guide goodbye.

Excellent concept - well executed

The tour took place away from the bright lights of the city centre. Hence we were about the only tourists and got a chance to better appreciate normal shops and cafes.

I was so glad that I booked with Vienna Urban Adventures for a food tour. Because we were there for a limited amount of time, Wolfy was able to book a private tour for us. We had heard so many great things about him and...More

I think the places vary, depending on what places are available for visiting. You can easily email Wolfy at Urban Adventures and ask him what the sites are that you will visit.

I agree with Lady Penelope. About 4 hours. Yet it didn’t seem so long. Was having fun.

My wife and I are not coffee drinkers either, but both of us really enjoyed the tour. Our guide was ready with other options for us. We were obviously not the first non-coffee drinkers s on the tour.
