About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 956bjc0 contributionsConfusingNot terribly well organised tour company. Nobody at the dock to explain anything. They have 3 different tours but when buy the tickets online you don’t know which it is. Not clear as to whether you need to line up for a paper ticket as well. I don’t think the Hellbrunn palace tour lets you inside the palace. They admit you into the “trick gardens”, which are fantastic, But by the time you’ve done that it’s time to go The boat trip section is ok but it’s frankly not that scenicWritten 7 September 2024
- Traveler479798381240 contributionsHellbrunn, just a quaint hunting lodge - NOT!!Unfortunate the river cruise didn’t happen due to mechanical issues. Instead, they took us by bus and made an additional stop at the “Sound of Music” Palace. Hellbrunn is unbelievable and a must see when visiting Salzburg!Written 18 June 2024
- 328chasm0 contributionsEnjoy the relaxationA thoroughly enjoyable 45-minute cruise along the river. The commentary was a mix of pre-recorded (in German and English) and commentary from the lady captain (started in German and English, added Spanish after a question from a member of the audience), and was a nice mix of history, humour and facts. Good views of villas on one side, and the commercial side of the city on the other. Fast running water created challenges for the pilot, with the outward section around 35 minutes, then 10 minutes back with the tide! Basic tickets are available for unreserved seating, with a handful of "premium" seats at the front and back (with a "free" drink included) - all have a good view because of the design of the vessel, built for this type of journey.Written 7 June 2024
- Rebecca R0 contributionsHellbrunn palace beautiful park and entertaining fountainsThis is just for the palace didn’t do the river boat. Beautiful peaceful scenic park with some wonderful old trees. The trick fountains tour is a must, really interesting, entertaining and novel! Other attractions there too which we didn’t get time to see. Really enjoyed it.Written 4 June 2024
- 630petel0 contributionsMust see experinceWhat an amazing experience. Our Captain took us up the river piloting the boat and giving a running commentary about the city and surrounding area. She was brilliant. The boat is modern with good viewing. tickets can be purchased on the quay side. Every thing about this experience was professional, affordable and efficient. Thank youWritten 2 June 2024
- F1659QJstevel0 contributionsThis tour company apparently doesn’t honor TripAdvisor reservations0/5 for customer service. I booked 2 days in advance, received the “paid and confirmed” notification, then showed up to be told that I didn’t have a reservation. The man at the ticket booth literally laughed in my face before I showed him my ticket confirmation and he had to call his supervisor. I also called the listed customer service number, and they promptly hung up on me.Written 14 July 2019
- Patient M0 contributionsFun Way to Spend a Couple of HoursWe found this tour to be run efficiently, with a very friendly and amusing crew. The vehicle was very interesting, and much more comfortable than the usual DUKW vehicles used elsewhere. A fun way to see the main sites in a pleasant city, especially when the sun is shining!Written 24 October 2018
- alison l0 contributionsPoor service, wouldn't recommend this tourBooked the Tour 3, including tour on the water, a visit to Hellbrunn Palace and return trip home. Hellbrunn was fabulous but the rest of the tour was an awful experience, and customer service we received on return was nether helpful or satisfactory. Our water tour was ruined by a hen party, who were loud, shouted out obscene words, and has no interest in the water cruise spending the whole journey taking photos, shouting over the commentary and blocking the views. The staff on board the boat did nothing at all in response to this. We didn't hear any of the commentary and missed the sights, so ended up paying for a service we definitely did not receive. On our return I spoke the ticket office staff who told me there was nothing they coud do and they were not responsible if people on the tour were loud and it was just how it was. This is not acceptable, showed no customer experience and just not bothered that all that our afternoon was ruined, with no offer to help or compensate this. Would recommend getting a taxi or a bus to Hellbrunn, don't waste your money on this tour.Written 1 September 2018
- Gilikl0 contributionsGreat AdventureWe visited beautiful Salzburg last month. The visit to the palace was enjoyable, especially to young children with lots of hidden fountains. The cruise was fun when we took it at 19.00, when it was not too warm. הביקור בארמון והסיור המיוחד לגן המזרקות מומלץ למשפחות עם ילדים צעירים, את השיט הזמנו לערב כשהיה כבר פחות חם.Written 7 August 2018
- HampshireKenny0 contributionsDifferent, Memorable & AmusingThis tour turned out to be a real experience, not least because of the commentary and briefing provided by the Captain. The sightseeing element became secondary to the experience of being transported from the river and then through the City (much to the amazement of pedestrians) and then back again to the jetty via the river. About 90 minutes of sheer fun. Highly recommend.Written 3 July 2018
- harburybill0 contributionsGood way to see the citySeeing a city from the water is always interesting but this was better than most. Salburg has such interesting buildings that the view from the water makes for a view that other tourists never get. The drive around the city was also good and it helped that the commentary was in English and German. Everybody onboard were friendly and helpful.Written 9 June 2018
- skippyjo0 contributionsFabulous trip!My mum and I went on the Splash tour this afternoon. We really enjoyed it. The commentary was very good and the crew were very amicable. We would highly recommend it to anyone who is in Salzburg and would like to see a number of the sites in a unique way.Written 5 April 2018

I really don't relish leaving less than a 4-5 star review. But this was a little bit of a disappointment for my husband and myself. I booked our tour directly from the company website MONTHS in advance. When we arrived we discovered that the time had been moved up 15 minutes (thankfully we arrived early). We got on the boat last, because we were "late". Turns out they had overbooked and my husband had to sit in a chair in the middle of the aisle. Our group was made up of a majority of German speakers and so both languages were spoken. Which, I would normally be ok with, but it felt like a LOT of time was spent on German and not nearly as much in English.
One reason why this gets 3 stars instead of less, is that the guides were willing to allow us to change our dinner/Mozart concert to the following night at our request, because we weren't feeling well. However, they forgot to take down our seat numbers. When we showed up the next night and took our seats (that they escorted us to), they came back and asked us to move when a different group of people showed up with the same seat numbers. This was even after we reminded them upon arrival that we were the couple who re-booked the dinner/show.
Another part of this experience was the dinner. This was also a MAJOR mixed review for us. On one hand... we would have put up with a LOT just to have dinner with the absolutely killer view from the restaurant. However, the staff was INCREDIBLY unfriendly (though, this isn't the fault of the booking company, but it should be noted). At one point we witnessed a verbal altercation between one of the guests and a waiter. The dinner was pretty good. We only got water though, which they automatically bring out in bottles. The dinner is supposed to be included with the price, but even if you only get water to drink you have to pay extra (6 Euros per bottle of water!!).
The concert itself was great, musically. You are also in an old room in the fortress that has more stunning views of the city and surrounding areas. The down side of this, is that we visited in July, we were in one of the top rooms in the fortress, the humidity was darn near 100% and it was HOT in that room.
My final verdict is that I would probably do this tour again, but this is how I would do it. I would book through the company again. Show up 45 minutes early to ensure I get an actual seat on the boat. I wouldn't book this tour hours after our plane lands in Europe on our first night. I would bring a fan, and nicer clothes for my husband that are cool (not a sweater, especially in July... I was under the impression it would be raining the whole time and it didn't rain once). I would just recommend to people that they will have to sit through a lot of German, to expect to pay for their drinks, even just water, and to not expect overly friendly staff at dinner.

It was nice but the English information usually came after we had already passed the point of interest. Also, not really sure what the added value of the water portion was.

Since I have never been promoted in such a vehicle, it was already exciting.
Interesting to see a city tour from the water and on land. A whole new angle.

Very nice ride! The vehicle is amazing! A good balance between the boat part and the bus part. Good animation, including by the driver! I was very happy with my choice.

The trip was our highlight in Salzburg.
The only thing that was extremely complicated was the booking, as you couldn't use a normal credit card, only PayPal. Who has that?
