The information on the tour was excellent, with lots of snippets of information about the filming of The Sound of Music and details of the real Von Trapp family - which is exactly what we wanted from the tour. The locations of the stops were either informative (filming locations) or beautiful. We could have done with a little more time in Mondsee, which was absolutely charming, as there was barely enough time to get a bite to eat and visit the toilets before we had to be back on the bus. The coach was comfortable and the driver, Evo, was friendly and cheerful. Our tour guide, David, was clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about The Sound of Music, and had very clear and firmly stated requirements for how we should behave during the tour. Unfortunately, the atmosphere on our return journey was rather subdued after David robustly admonished one of the passengers for using their phone - which we hadn’t otherwise noticed. Still, we have happy memories of the sights and locations we saw during the tour.

Really good 4 hr tour and enjoyed our tour guided commentary very much, would recommend Panaroma tours. A good drive up into the mountains, seeing hitlers checkpoints, where his house stood. Lovely views and the salt mine was superb. Brace yourself for the slide!

Fantastic 4 hrs touring round the sites from the movie. David and Envo the driver were fab -well worth the money and need to watch the movie again.....

A must for Sound of Music fans! We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. April, our tour guide was a delight, and Mickey, our driver was skilled and we felt very safe. Even though the weather was not with us on the day of our tour (rain and fog), we, and all of the participants on the bus were happily singing along to all of the musical songs, led by April. Highly recommend this 4 hour tour!

We booked the tour yesterday and hopped on the bus this morning. Even though it was the end of November, it was packed. You are paying for convenience and eliminating any stress of travel. There isn’t a simple way to get there unless you are going to drive. We never take tours unless the potential hassle factors is higher than the price. We left at 815 am and we got there 10 minutes early to the starting point. Kinda a mistake. First you have to go to the booth to get a green plastic ticket that you give to the host as you enter the bus. I assume this is just the count. We just followed others to the booth so that worked out. But others that were in line to get on the bus had to jump out of line which can seriously affect your day. We thought we were there with an adequate amount of time before we left but that was an erroneous assumption. I would get there much earlier and perhaps 30 minutes before you leave. The reason where you sit. We had a double decker bus which one would think would be adequate. It is in the sense that everyone had a seat but not necessarily what they wanted. Everyone in front of us tried to go upstairs for the view. About 2/3rds of the people were in front for us so we skipped the stairs and grabbed a pair of seats downstairs. Others tried and failed to find a seat upstairs and had to grab whatever seat was available. Some were facing the opposite direction of the bus which if are prone to motion sickness would be a disaster. The narration was informative and the ride is comfortable. The back door opens downstairs which is convenient to get off rapidly. There was a WC in the back but didn’t see anyone use it. I would use this company again though would get there earlier next time. Enjoy.

This tour touched all the bases: lots of Sound of Music locations, insider details on the filming, background of the true story, and just plain fun in the bus between stops. Brush up on your lyrics so you can join in the sing-along. The guide was personal and engaging. Highly recommended.

The Sound of Music tour was amazing. I adore this movie. One receives more inside knowledge about the movie through the effervescent guide April. It’s a must see when one comes to Salzburg.

The tour was excellent and fulfilled our Sound of Music expectations. The tour guide, Mitch, was also excellent and told us lots of interesting information.

The guided trip from Salsberg to Hallstatt was an enjoyable experience. We went a different way coming and going so saw different scenery. Sit on left side of bus for better views. Guide spoke very good English and had a passion for country. He was clear about what was expected of his full load of passengers. We took tour on a Sunday and only bad part was museum closed and couldn't go into church as service happening. We should have done cable car to top to see salt mines our only regret. Setting is absolutely stunning. Beautiful area.

If you are a Sound of Music fan we would highly recommend this tour. The guide was excellent and it was just a fun experience. He was full of amusing anecdotes and enhanced the whole experience.

Oh my goodness, we absolutely LOVED this tour. David was a fantastic tour guide, so friendly and knowledgeable about the Sound of Music facts and myths of the Hollywood production and all of the sights along the 4-hour route. He even added in some fun anecdotes that you likely wouldn't hear on a more mainstream tour. Would 100% come back and take this exact tour again with David! PS. Get ready to sing (if you wish to), we listened to the entire movie soundtrack, it made my day!
