About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Globetrotter7670 contributionsA hassle free and thoroughly enjoyable way to experience the remoteness of the Faroe IslandsI am usually reluctant to go on tours but with only one week in the Faroes, this is definitely the way to do it. It beats having to organise numerous boat and ferry trips yourself. The vehicles were top quality with small (usually around 6-8 people) and you get see most of the key sites on multiple different islands. It’s also unique as you get to go for lunch in unusual places that you just wouldn’t find yourself. The tour guides were all knowledgeable and interested in providing a good experience. I would thoroughly recommend this company.Written 9 December 2024
- shaunsouthern0 contributionsExcellent customer serviceWe booked the Mykines shuttle boat through 'Guide to Faroe Islands' and also used their website to research things to do and see. Everything simple to book and clear, easy to pay and they company were easy to contact by email. Lots of information. The Mykines trip was great, an exhilirating boat ride followed by time on the island and sightseeing on the boat too. We had also booked the Dragnamir one hour trip later that day, but the Mykines boat, unknown to us, also visited all the sites on the Dragnamir tour, so 'Guide to Faroe Islands' were able to help us cancel the second trip which allowed us time to visit the 'lake above the ocean' as well in the short time we had in the islands. Excellent customer service.Written 11 June 2024
- tonylI9053AU0 contributionsExemplary customer service beautifully representative of the friendly FaroesA quick shout out to Guide to Faroe Islands en masse, but especially Joan-Heidi and Høgni for their excellent customer service and support during our recent visit. They could not have been more helpful, and we sincerely appreciated their efforts towards us optimizing our time. Many thanks indeed!Written 20 April 2024
- Lisee-MarieeL0 contributionsGreat boat ride!We booked the boat ride to Dragarnir, Múlafossur and Tindhólmur. It was a great experience and really worth it. The weather was cloudy and rainy but not bad. It kind of added to the experience :) Even though it also was very windy, we still got to see all the sights on the tour and it was a fun and exciting experience. One minus: because of the wind we could not ride through the hole at Dragarnir. But still, a wonderful experience.Written 25 September 2022
- IltritticodiAino0 contributionsA great one hour boat ride around VagarThe one hour boat ride that I took with your team was great, I was able to see up close Drangarnir, Múlafossur and Tindhólmur. Even if there was no sun I’m glad I did it. Well organised also about all the equipment to be able to have a safe ride. I will surely recommend it.Written 5 September 2022
- grucola0 contributionsGreat agency that takes good careBooked several trips through the Guide to Faroe. They did take great care and all the trips were really fantastic. Would definatelly recommand.Written 2 September 2022
- artemis19640 contributionsdid not receive a full refundBooked the trip to Mykines but due to bad weather it was canceled. Got my money back except for 70 kr that is supposed to be some sort of fee?Written 10 July 2022
- vanessa b0 contributionsOur of a fairytaleWe booked the hiking tour to Drangarnir. It was a great hike despite the wind and rain. We took our 8 and 11 year old. Some parts are steep so don’t take young kids if they are not avid hikers. It was about 14 km the whole trip. The guide was nice and shared info about the area when asked. The hike is easier then the ole postman route if you are wondering on the degree of the hike. It’s not hard it’s just long. Great hike and worth seeing!Written 29 July 2020
- russ-the-rover0 contributionsA must see if in the area,Its an interesting drive through a single tract tunnel, before the tunnel it was only accessible by foot, the famous Post-mans Walk. to see the waterfall its a short walk on a recently re-surfaced track, so you need some good shoes, but nothing is too steep, so no need for mountaineering gear. Make use you are carrying you camera, its a must to go home with a record of a visit to this wonderful view.Written 17 November 2019
- Kazi A0 contributionsTook The tour "Highlights of Faro Islands" . Well worth it, Excellent. Was there in 1st week of November on the week end. They were easily avaliable on a Saturday and many /most others were closed. They promptly arranged every thing on a short notice & picked me up from my Hotel, Hotel Havgrim. The guide/driver was excellent /friendly & very knowledgable , he showed us around all the places, took us to different view points & points & places & waited for us so we can take pictures & enjoy the beauty. It was a 9 hour tour showing most of the landmarks in Faroe Islands. Lunch was included in the price of tour & was very good at a local Faroese Restaurant & was very fresh & delicious. We were offered free drinks/water throughout the tour & since it was a private tour we went at our pace & were not tired at all. After the tour we were dropped back at our hotel. Highly Reccomend them, they are avaliable & will arrange every thing at a short notice even on the week ends.Written 10 November 2019
- Hansen, D0 contributionsClassic Tour of Faroe Islands - great way to see a lot in a dayWe had a great day with Annika, showing us loads of things on three different islands, Vágar, Streymoy and Eysturoy. The most stunning nature with many water falls in all sizes, small villages and old houses. We walked a bit but not a lot. We were lucky with the weather - had no rain. It includes a lot of driving, but there is so much to see on the way, so you hardly notice it.Written 3 June 2019

We went to the Faroes from Iceland in early June and had planned to rent a car for our six days there. We had pre-booked the Kalsoy Island tour with Guide to the Faroes because it seemed getting the car on the ferry might be problematic. As it turned out, all car rentals were cancelled in the Faroes because of a national strike that limited petrol. To make the most of this difficult situation we proceeded with the Kalsoy tour and added their all day "See It All" tour. Both were excellent and we basically got to see everything we had hoped to see in the two tours. Many thanks to tour co-ordinator Joan-Heidi who got us back to Torshavn from Kalsoy after taxis had stopped running that day and to Elsa Maria who was absolutely superb as a driver and guide on the all day tour. She was very personable and informative and we couldn't believe how much we covered in one day. Hogni of Guide to Faroes was extremely helpful in helping us adjust our plans and work around the dislocation of the strike. Many thanks to all -- when we had heard of the strike the day before leaving from Iceland we thought of cancelling but had already pre-paid hotels. We are so glad we stuck with the plan and took in the Faroes.

So glad you decided to come amid he strike in June and that we could adapt your experience to the unforeseen situation with logistical challenges (no fuel left in the Faroe Islands due to the strike). Happy to know that you enjoyed the guided tours booked, both the one to Kalsoy Island and the one that covered a lot in one day.

Outstanding 7 hour highlights tour . So lucky to choose this tour and guide Elsa Maria. The tour shows you all the main highlights of this beautiful and scenic group of islands in a comfortable , intimate group. We had only 7. The weather was magnificent and Elsa Maria was passionate , knowledgeable and knew all the best places for a shot or a beautiful fish restaurant for lunch. I highly recommend doing this if you are short on time and or as an introduction to the island if you are driving around . Elsa Maria gave some of our group excellent tips for their driving tour and she is a fantastic photographer capturing everyone’s shots of the day ! Thank you for a great day and explaining the culture history and true facts behind the Faroese way of life.

Once in a lifetime experience touring the iconic scenery within the Faroe Islands whilst also being educated on its history. My tour guide, Claus, was exceptional in his multilayered understanding of the roots and pre-historic development of the Faroe Islands as we know it! This tour was accommodating, invigorating and will surely have you walking away with not only a deeper appreciation for the country, but also an awareness to the meaning that the country has to its local residents. 10/10 would recommend this tour to any new comer to the country.

We did a 3 separate day tours organised by Guide To Faroe Islands. The organisation was extremely efficient and helpful, very informative and responded to all our communications promptly. We dealt with Hogni and none of our requests seemed too much for him. We had two outstanding guides - Elsa Maria who took us to 3 different islands, providing us with endless coffees and snacks en route and made a personal video for us of the highlights we had seen which was a wonderful momento that we appreciated a lot. Our second guide, Tomas, took us to Suduroy and was an absolutely delightful young man. We went by ferry from Torshavn to Suduroy and then toured the island which was very interesting. We had lunch at MorMor (highly recommended see separate review) and Tomas looked after us incredibly well. We had the most amazing holiday and could not recommend this tour company more highly.

The tour, which in my case, was solo, was most rewarding.
The individual guide, who was very pleasant, engaging and knowledgeable, made the day to be very pleasant.
The weather, as it is in this part of the world, was variable, but the photographic opportunity and exploration of the various locations were presented in terms of appropriateness, and with respect.
I would strongly recommend the tour.

Overall a great experience! We booked the "James Bond 007 tour" on Kalsoy and it was amazing. We were extremely happy with the communication prior to the tour (they even helped me get a vegetarian meal). Our tour guide, Johannus, was fantastic. We didn't realize the hike to the famous lighthouse was an unmarked trek up the hillside. Johannus made it possible to navigate our way safely up/down.
We had a second tour booked to Mykines but it was cancelled due to weather (a very common occurrence). We received prompt communication and a speedy refund.
This was our first trip to the Faroe Islands and we can't wait to return.

My experience was poor.
It would have been better to book my accommodation and tours by myself (and it is possible since this is a brokers service only).
My shared Airport-Hotel_Airport services where a joke.
The hotel and the room i was put in was NOT acceptable.
Although there was some response from the owner Hogni, i would suggest travelers to book by your selves or try another agent.
As far as the Faroes, this country is awesome!
Do come, do visit, do enjoy! =)

We are very sorry to receive a review like this from Mexico City.
Fast forward to the remote Faroe Islands. Tried to contact you to get a better understanding of your experience, unfortunately without success.
Since your initial contact six months ago when we together started to help you plan your vacation, we fortunately had a good dialogue. Greatly appreciate it. Your swift replies enabled us to put all our efforts into finding a solution on an otherwise totally booked Faroe Islands. We can see that you have reviewed your hotel separately, which is why we are really sorry that you decided to let this affect us.
Our dialogue together (and you recommending the Faroe Islands in this review) fortunately tells us that you enjoyed our services and the secluded experiences on your trip here booked with us.
Hope you will be back in the Faroe Islands soon. Until next time!

An incredible day with Elsa! We toured all over the Faroe Islands and it was amazing! So many waterfalls. It was easy to see her passion for the Faroe Islands and it was great to have a local to show you around. Elsa made a video of the day which went above and beyond. Highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to the Islands. Thank you Elsa for a day I wont forget.

We had an amazing time on our boat ride to Drangarnir. We were blessed to be the only two people at Drangarnir, which gave us an opportunity to explore in seclusion (with only a couple of sheep to keep us company). It was one of our favorite experiences during our time in the Faroe Islands. We would highly recommend the tour to others!
