Great tour. Perfect mix of guided and self exploration.
We had an awesome time on this tour. Our Tour guide Svabbi was very informative and brought us to a few more stops then what was on the original agenda. My wife and I had a really good time. Would deffinetly book again.

Unforgettable Northern Lights Experience with David the Guide & Ania!
Our Northern Lights tour with David the Guide was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized, and our guide, Ania, went above and beyond to make sure we had an incredible night. Beyond just chasing the aurora, Ania created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. She shared fascinating stories, provided hot drinks to keep us warm, and even helped us with photography tips to capture the moment perfectly. Her passion and enthusiasm were contagious, making the experience even more special.

          You won’t be disappointed!
Was slightly worried about doing this tour as there are limited reviews but turns out it was amazing! Would 100% recommend to anyone. Svabbi our guide was brilliant (also turns out the reviews are all collated so check out the ‘Guide to Iceland’ if you want to see more reviews)

Really great experience though the climate condition.
I want to give a special thanks to my guide, Khan (it's this pronunciation, but I'm not sure about the spelling). Thank you for your professionalism, patience, responsibility, and excellent problem-solving skills. I booked this wonderful tour through an agency, but unfortunately, they didn’t provide a detailed itinerary. The road conditions and travel time exceeded my expectations, which caused me a lot of anxiety. Despite the extreme weather outside, Khan ensured that we arrived safely, smoothly, and on time. I really appreciate his patience, especially since my English isn’t fluent. He was kind enough to explain the upcoming schedule and travel times, which helped calm my nerves. On top of that, when we encountered a traffic jam caused by an accident, I saw him work hard and efficiently to resolve the situation. Thank you, Khan, for making this trip unforgettable and stress-free!

Christian was an amazing guide and incredibly knowledgeable. Amazing views. He knew exactly where to take us to see the Northern Lights. Can’t wait to get his photos.

          Amazing hike on a glacier
We had an excellent glacier hike with Kamilla on June 29. The hike was amazing and Kamilla was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, helpful, supportive and appropriately careful. I enjoyed talking with her. Kamilla did a good job of judging the comfort level of the group in terms of which way to go on the glacier. I would definitely recommend her and the trip to friends! Best choice for a first visit to Iceland.
From the initial contact all the way through, this company was great to deal with. Rebecca, in the office, was prompt to answer all questions and helped plan an itinerary that suited us. Our tour guide Agnes was amazing. She was friendly, funny, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She fit in perfectly with our family. Agnes made sure we were seeing everything we showed an interest in. Apart from the planned activities, she stopped for us to pat Icelandic horses, look inside caves and told tales about trolls along the way. She also organised great guides for tours we added on such as the ice cave tour. Christian, from David the Guide, was the most fantastic Northern Lights guide you could ask for. His passion for the phenomenon is second to none and he has even created his own app. He explained his vast knowledge, pointed out everywhere we needed to look and took amazing photos. Booking a private tour for our group was great as it included pick up and drop off at the airport which was very welcome after a long flight and lost luggage. We saw all the sites and had the time we needed at each one without having to worry about planning and navigating. The local knowledge of David the Guide made our trip easy and interesting.

          Phenomenal Experience!
This was my first time witnessing the majesty and breathtaking magnitude of the Northern Lights, and I cannot recommend this experience enough. Our guides, Christian and Ania were fantastic! Christian was so knowledgeable about the Lights and shared valuable insights! We also appreciated his stellar photography skills. I recommend this experience through and through! :)

We did two days with Agnes, including golden circle, south coast glaciers and diamond beach. She planned out our days very well. It was a pleasure to have her as our guide, as she is very knowledgeable. She’s also super positive and funny, especially when we were driving through some rough weather.

          Once in a lifetime expérience!
I took a northern lights tour with David the guide company. The weather conditions were not ideal for seeing aurora as we knew the storm was coming soon however due to Ania’s (our guide) expertise and intuition we managed to see amazing dancing Aurora boréalis and get great photos. It was magical expérience! Highly recommended;) Bus was very nice and comfortable, we got hot chocolaté and cookies which was a Nice touch after being outside in the cold windy weather;) Ania was very helpful and gave a lot of information on northern lights during whole tour. I had fun and am very happy with the expérience:)

          What a cool experience!
I had a great time chasing the Northern Lights with our tour guide David aka Christian (not David the Guide haha)! He was very knowledgeable about the lights and taught us about the importance of checking both the KSP of the lights as well as the magnetometer, satellite, and oval circle readings to make sure all the right variables were coming into play. You could tell that he was very passionate about the Northern Lights and seeing and photographing them. Although the Northern Lights weren't super strong the night I went, they did show up on the camera pretty well when David took our photos, which was very cool! We drove to two different places to try and see the lights better which I appreciated, and the hot chocolate and cookies were very warm and comforting since it's very cold when you're outside. On that note, I'd definitely recommend wearing at least 2 pairs of socks and at least 3 layers of pants and tops under your jacket to stay warm! (something I didn't do haha) I also ran into a couple on a trip who told me that this was their third time trying to see the Northern Lights with their booking since their other 2 nights weren't as good so they were allowed to reschedule/rebook additional days for free. I appreciate that David the Guide gives you the option to rebook/reschedule additional nights for free if you're not able to see the lights on your scheduled night. I'm pretty sure seeing the Northern Lights is definitely at the top of everyone's wish list while they're in Iceland so I appreciate that they're so helpful in helping you get to see it! Overall, I'd definitely recommend David the Guide for trying to chase or see the Northern Lights!

Fairly well organised tour but too many people
'Private tour' is a bit of a misnomer. There were 3 busses from the company who went out that night so that was about 120 people. We didn't get to see the northern lights but that was nobody's fault. We did get an offer to go out again another night but as it happened that week there were no sightings of the aurora..

Northern Lights tour with a photographer
This is a review about Northern Lights Tour With Photographer. I chase auroras in the UK so I know what, where and how I need to be to be able to do this - it usually involves somewhere dark, looking north and a favourable forecast - this is what I would have expected. I also know these things are very fickle and can show up un-announced. The day we went out, I had checked all my sources and it just wasn't going to produce anything as there was no solar activity. Our original tour had been cancelled on Boxing night so I received an email asking for other dates we could go on the tour so I gave 2 dates. So on the selected date, I got the email before 5pm saying the tour was on - I was like what! its going to be cloudy, KP1 and blowing a gale (36mph winds - the bus was literally rocking when we pulled up to the site) - we had been out with another tour company that day and they said they had cancelled theirs that night had many of the others due to the weather - maybe David the guide knew something everyone else didn't - here's hoping! So our pick up time is 8.30pm till 9.15pm - at 9.10pm we are collected and then everyone needs a toilet stop - that's fine as I think we wont get another one so we set off again from the station at around 10pm and go to the place that has been selected. No one gets out of the bus for the 1st 30 minutes at least due to the wind and the north view has a small town underneath it - so there is light pollution! We were in whale bay I believe. They offered cookie and hot chocolate at the sight on the bus rather than outside due to the wind but as the photographer still wasn't getting anything 20 minutes later I would have preferred them to go somewhere else darker. After two hours everyone got back on the bus who had ventured out and off we went home - no we will try somewhere else, no we are going home etc Northern lights are natural phenomenon so I don't blame anyone if I can't see one but I expect the company to do a good job on their part of deciding if it is worth going out or not. We chose this one due to it having a photographer but it just didn't seem like they picked there place well and to go out on a night when all others had cancelled theirs was a surprise - like oh well we will go out anyways as we can always give them a voucher to use within 2 years but I guess I will need to email them to ask for the voucher rather it being forthcoming as we have been back nearly a week now and no communication and just getting round to doing reviews I have to admit some of the customer service was fine when we asked about being picked up and they told us which bus stop If I had known the tour was going to go a little bit out of Reykjavik and then to a bay where there is a town the other side of the bay giving off light pollution, I wouldn't have booked to be honest which is disappointing as I spent a lot of time picking the right ones and for me, this didn't live up to the detail and the expectation unfortunately.
