    10 Stars!
Bessi is the most entertaining tour guide. He showed us all of the amazing sites, avoiding the crowds. He told us great Icelandic tales, shares the music and even added an extra stop on the tour. He was funny and flexible and made sure we all had an experience of a lifetime.

    3rd time is a charm!
This was our 3rd visit and 5th tour with the Moonwalker team! We did a 6 day tour through Snaefellsness, West fjords, northern regions and Diamond Circle. Bessi and Cami are awesome to travel with!! Extremely personable and always looking to create a truly memorable and unique experience. He’s gotten to know us and created an incredible tour tailored to our interests!! Wealth of knowledge of Geology, Ecosystems, Culture, Literature and anything else you could imagine you’d like to learn.. He has “hidden gems” up his sleeve and brings them out to show at just the right time. He is our “Go-to” when we plan a visit….. good to keep an eye on his tour developments as he’s continually looking for new treks to see more of our truly favorite place to escape to in order to just “get off the grid”. Came back feeling wonderful!!!!

Amazing once in a lifetime experience
If you are in Iceland, this is your go-to guy. He took us to the ice caves which was the best experience we have ever had in our lives. Thrill and adventure cold glacial ice incredible. The rest of the tour was also great. Stopped for lunch. Went to many local spots with beautiful waterfalls. Learned a lot. Moonwalker is definitely the best! Thank you so much for a great tour and thank you for bringing the dog

    Phenomenal!!! 5 ⭐️
Phenomenal- cannot rave enough about Bessi and Moonwalker!! From our first contact with Bessi months before our trip to our greeting on the street - he is an exemplary host/tour provider! Kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable, timely and organized- everything came together perfectly. More than anything we greatly appreciated how flexible and custom our tours were. He asked us questions about things we enjoy and then took us to places to enjoy those things - I’ve cream at a farm with cows on site…a hydrponic tomato farm…Cannit wait yo return to Iceland and enjoy more adventures with Bessi!

    Family Vacation
Bessi and Cami (the tour guide dog) are by far the most amazing tour guides you will ever come across. He's at rue Viking! Very knowledgeable of the terrain. We had an amazing family and most memorable experience because of him. We will most definitely be back to Iceland and use Moonwalker tour again. Can't wait to go back!!!

Seeing the Real Iceland with a Real Icelander (and his dog)
We are a family of five that toured with Bessi Jónsson/Moonwalker for three wonderful and exciting days (Golden Circle & Glacier; South Coast & Private Glacier Hike; and Landmannalaugar & Hekla Volcano). He made our trip to Iceland an amazing lifetime memory and experience. Bessi is a consummate professional (former Search & Rescue pro). He maximizes each tour experience, avoiding the tourist traps/crowds and always adapting to the weather and terrain at hand to get the most out of each tour. He will not hesitate to go “off script” to show his clients a unique Icelandic sight/feature that presents itself unexpectedly. His knowledge of Iceland (geography, geology, and history) is truly amazing and enlightening. Bessi’s customized adventure vehicle is uniquely (and safely) suited for Iceland’s off-road terrain and is all-weather capable. His trekking equipment is top notch, very well maintained, and safe for all ages. My last word is for our assistant tour guide Cami – a lady and companion of indomitable spirit!! You won’t be able to stop saying goodbye to her at tour’s end… In sum, Bessi is the go-to tour guide if you want something above and beyond “Iceland Light”. //TJ Hess

    Awesome Guided Tour with Bessi
We really enjoyed our tour with Bessi at Moonwalker. The tour was completely private with just my husband, myself, Bessi, and his adorable dog Cami! We went to the Thorsmork region and drove through river beds in the valley, stopping now and then to see the sights and hike out to canyons, glaciers, and waterfalls. We had a great time and really enjoyed the personalized feel of the tour, plus all the amazing things there were to see. Bessi even took us to locations in Thorsmork that other tour groups didn't know about, which increased the private feeling of the whole experience. Not only was the tour itself fun and exciting, but we also truly enjoyed spending the day with Bessi and Cami. Bessi was so personable, kind, and knowledgeable about Iceland that we came away from the experience with a more solid understanding of Icelandic culture and history. Despite the breadth of questions that we had, Bessi always had an answer for us. He knew seemingly everything about Iceland, from its geology to its history to its wildlife. His stories about his experience as a Search and Rescue team member complemented the trip and helped us learn more about outdoor experiences in Iceland. Bessi told us about the local ecosystems and how the animals we saw - horses, sheep, lambs - fit into them. It was a very memorable day, made more so by Bessi's personal touch and enthusiasm for all of our questions! We definitely valued the personalized, private experience with Bessi and Cami, and will be sure to book another tour with Moonwalker if we make it back to Iceland!

3 Amazing Tours! Book with Bessi!
Bessi is an amazing tour guide! I’d say best in Iceland but to be fair he was the only one we had though hard to think there’s much better. We booked our tours with him off his excellent reviews and Instagram. We were 4 adults and 2 children under 10. We’re not avid hikers so this was a trip out of our comfort zone but Bessi made us comfortable every step of the way. Prior to arrival it was very easy to communicate and book with him. Upon arrival and based on weather conditions he was actively monitoring the weather , he planned three days of tours for us giving us a day off between the 2nd and 3rd day where we took his recommendation to go to a local pool (amazing and cheap activity with kids as pools are heated by all the hot water underneath the ground so going to an outdoor pool in Iceland in April was not crazy as I first thought). Bessi’s tours are well planned but he’s also very flexible and takes into account the composition of your group. Each day we didn’t know how the next tour would be better or different but they were. His knowledge of the country, history and geology always had us learning. We felt safe with him regardless what we were doing especially because of his search and rescue background. We felt like locals and not falling into traps that we saw with big tour buses. We were able to visit places that big buses couldn’t reach due to his variety of vehicles and go to local lunch spots that were amazing. The private tours are not that much more expensive than big bus tours based on our research and worth every additional cost, it’s the best way to go to see the island. We cannot wait to visit again and for more tours with Bessi. We cannot thank him enough for the adventures we had with him and memories we made. Book with Bessi and do your Iceland adventure right!

    Kelleher’s Icelandic Moonwalker adventure
Truly outstanding. We decided that a holiday to Iceland was a must this year and as my wife trawled the web to start building an itinerary she very quickly was inspired by what moonwalker offered. Bessi is a true professional with a very welcoming approach to our enquiries he helped build the best tour for our lust for adventure and within budget. Before we knew it the time had arrived and we embarking on our golden circle tour with a twist. We felt like vip’s being collected from our hotel and off towards the Langjjkull glacier in the comfort of the moonwalker 4WD , we enjoyed a spectacular sunrise on route. The expertise that Bessi has and knowledge of the terrain allows you to reach places other tours cannot get to on their own, this tour took a dynamic switch as the wether closed in soon we were on an unscheduled four wheel drive snowy adventure much like like those expeditions we have enjoyed watching on tv, the only difference is we were living the excitement. Bessi’s back ground in mountain rescue meant this was an amazing added extra, my two boys 17 &13 loved it . We arrived at the glacier to undertake the snowmobiling early before the crowds it was epic and again we had the personal touch arranged by bessi, a private guide. We later moved down the mountain to the gulfoss waterfall and a spot of lunch and the worlds best hot chocolate. From here to the strokkur geysir and then onto the thingvellir national park where bessi continued to impress with a geological insight to the area . All in all bessi absolutely made this tour we all had a blast and he made us all feel welcome and like we had known him for years, he was very attentive to our needs and the tour felt relaxed and not Ian intense itinerary . A fantastic experience and we have left with lifelong memories and experiences but mostly we ended the tour wanting more. We will be back to see bessi soon and he is truly an ambassador for Iceland a true gent and a true Viking,

    Bessi is the bestest, truly
We travel extensively and have had many guides. Bessi is one of the best we have ever had. Let’s go over why: • He made it simple – We spoke a couple of times on the phone and via email and totally got what we wanted. We made sure we were flexible in our itinerary, especially given the weather, and he put together one of the best tours we ever had. o We gave him a short list of some of the things we wanted to hit, and he made sure we saw all of them. • He is a real local – Bessi is born and raised in Iceland and really knows the entire country extremely well. He speaks excellent English and Korean as well, go figure. A down to earth guy, he would do anything to make us happy and had no expectations of us as well. o For example, we wanted to see the Northern Lights. We were staying at a hotel up against a mountain with lots of cloud cover at the time. He knew that we had to drive to the other side of the mountain to get away from the clouds and when we did the skies opened and we saw the aurora borealis. o When roads were closed due to bad weather, and we couldn’t see some of the things he had planned, he quickly adapted and took us to other things that were just beautiful. o You want someone who knows where to see special things, off the beaten path, that other “tourist buses” avoid, either due to the time to get there or access. Bessi took us to places where we were the only one’s marveling at spectacular waterfalls for example. • His car is in excellent condition and designed for the Icelandic weather. Good thing since we drove through more than one whiteout condition since we were there in January, and he is really good in the snow. • You spend a lot of time in the car with someone and they need to be someone you want to spend time with. Bessi is affable, doesn’t talk too much (we probably drove him nuts with questions) and always had a smile. We wish we could have spent more time with him as we learned so much. He really understands geology etc. Never think of him as a driver, but a true guide. We decided to hire him again when we go back in March.

    It's all true - he's amazing!
Our only regret is that one trip was canceled due to poor weather. My entire family would have loved to spend a second day with Bessi and Cami. He really is more than a tour guide; he's an ambassador for Iceland!

    Excellent private guide experience!
Our group of 4 (2 couples in our 60s) from the USA came for our 1st visit to Iceland in early December. We hired “Moonwalker” to take us out for 2 consecutive days to see the amazing geography of this unique island. What a fabulous guide Bessi turned out to be as many before us have already reported. Truly a wonderful adventure! Bessi picked us up at our hotel in Reykjavik each morning in one of his LandRovers. We spent the 1st day with him touring the southern coast. We saw amazing waterfalls, ocean views, walked the base of a glacier, rugged landscape with farms, admired the Icelandic horses & much more. On day 2, Bessi picked us up in his highly specialised LandRover (along with his sweet & beautiful Border Collie-sheepdog Cami). We drove the famous Golden Circle tour route. Highlights included geysers, thermal waters, boiling mud, and a thermally heated tomato greenhouse & restaurant. The “cherry on top” was a drive up on a glacier, after reducing air-pressure on the tires of the Landrover to get better traction. It was was both thrilling & amazing. A chilly -3F on top & quite windy, with the setting sun cooperating for great photos. Because of Bessi’s broad knowledge base on geology, and his years of experience & training in search & rescue, we learned all kinds facts about Iceland, as well as local insider information and a bit of folklore from this very engaging guide/adventure maker. We highly recommend his services.

    Fabulous Experience!
Our tour with Bessi and Kami was the highlight of our trip to Iceland. Bessi is incredibly professional and knowledgeable and has a wonderful way of making you feel comfortable immediately. He and Kami (his sweet four-legged companion) arrived on time to pick up my husband, myself, and our 12-year-old daughter for our Snaefellsnes Peninsula tour. His easy-going manner was welcoming, and Kami thrilled my daughter as she snuggled between us in the back seat. The vehicle was comfortable, and Bessi was incredibly knowledgeable about the various sites we stopped to visit. He was a pro at ensuring that we missed crowds and would go off main roads to see places we would not have seen had we toured with a large group. Iceland is a beautiful country, and with our limited time, we wanted to see the parts that we could properly. Bessi's tour deserves ten stars! We plan on returning and will be booking with Bessi and Kami again!
