This trip was a fantastic day out. Our guide Tinna was so knowledgable and friendly, she gave us a lot of information and answered questions throughout the day but it was not overwhelming, we had lots of time just sitting in the minibus listening to music and watching the scenery.
The whole day was tailored to optimise our enjoyment, Tinna altered plans according to the weather which was extremely changeable as we moved around the island. Near Vic it was a snow and sleet storm, I was glad she was driving not me! At both waterfall stops we had sun and at the glacier it was very windy. So we got great Icelandic weather experiences too! Because we had all returned early to the bus in the snow storm we had extra time so she added a really cool stop by some red rocks to see pseudocraters.
Being on the minibus with only about 12 people was so much better than a big coach, it felt like a more personal experience. My favourite part of the day was the glacier - I had never seen one up close before and it was breathtaking.
Your bags are safe on the bus at the stops and you can get food at the bakery stop and the lunch stop, we also brought some snacks with us and some water. Top tip you should pay about 200ISK for the toilets in a couple of the stops (but we only had a card so just nipped in without paying which felt bad but when you’ve gotta go…..)
Overall I would recommend this trip 100%, I did the golden circle tour about 5 yrs ago with another company which was very good but this was better. April was a fun month to see Iceland also as more daylight and less slippery at the sights compared to my December visit (although frozen waterfalls in December were worth a visit).
Thank you Tinna and your day tours, we will be back!

Our guide Bjorn was absolutely amazing, he gave us so much local information about the places which we went to alongside fantastic recommendations of what food to have at our stops along the way - I cannot praise him enough. Bjorn took us to a few extra stops on our trip, both of which were magical, these were a hidden waterfall and a clifftop lighthouse. As a whole the day was brilliant, we saw the most amazing sights, ate fantastic food and listened to both brilliant stories and facts and great Icelandic music.

If you are going to Iceland and are thinking about what to do, then this tour is a must. We went as part of a small group of around 10 in a comfortable minibus with WiFi! It's great value for money, you see all the best sights, before the masses get there and you get a decent amount of time at each stop!! Of the tours we done, this is by far our favourite from all aspects.

Magnus was waiting at the port on our ship’s 8 am arrival. His van was fairly comfortable (a bit tight on the knee room for those of us with long legs!), with an excellent microphone and speaker set up, and good windows. Magnus was an excellent tour guide-very nice, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, easy to understand and interesting. He collaborated with us to adjust the itinerary to accommodate the crowds and our needs, so that we were able to see all of the sights, including the waterfalls, the Black Sand Beach, and the glacier, as promised on the website, and buy our own lunches at the restaurant by the beach. We enjoyed all of the walks, especially our stop at the Black Sand Beach.
Do be prepared for an active excursion, with cold windy weather and uneven terrain. I was glad that I wore a raincoat, rain pants, gloves and a hat for the optional experience of walking behind the waterfall, though less-active participants could still enjoy the excursion.

This trip is well worth the money, the guide was brilliant, really knowledgeable and relaxed. Our tour got delayed slightly by a witnessed car accident to which both guys leading the trip immediately pulled over to help (and that helpful attitude didn't stop once while on the trip) the stops were perfect timings and didn't feel too long or short with more than enough time and space for pictures, the minibus was also pretty comfortable considering the time spent in it. I can't recommend this trip enough, Baldwin is an asset to these trips and his colleague that I feel bad for not remembering his name was an inspiration.

We had such a fantastic day on this tour. We only booked the night before! Lots of south coast trips had been cancelled this day due to bad weather however ours still went ahead! Transfer arrived on time at the bus stop outside our hotel. Our tour guide was so welcoming, and was making jokes right from the start at 8:30am. We loved that the tour was a smaller minibus rather than a big coach, as the trip felt a lot more personal and chilled. We visited some beautiful locations including several waterfalls, the black sand beach, a glacier, etc. Some parts of the journey involved a long drive however Ian provided a fantastic commentary throughout and the minibus had a great atmosphere. We stopped at the black sand beach restaurant for lunch - it was extremely busy with a big queue and people struggling to find tables. Ian was so reassuring not to rush our lunch and ensured everyone was finished before we went to move on to the next location. We went on a different tour the day before with another company which was the opposite, they rushed us at every location and we had to leave our lunch! If your thinking about booking with your day tour then just do it - you won’t be disappointed and they will do everything they can to get you on the tour despite weather. We learnt so much and had such a memorable experience. Thankyou Ian for such an amazing day!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Icelands' South Coast. The landscape was incredible and was made even better by the weather. Sara was a brilliant guide: she went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent tour. She regularly highlighted points of interest on the journey, kept us entertained, gave great recommendations and even added an additional viewpoint to the route. Visiting the glacier was certainly the highlight but we would fully recommend this tour to see what the South Coast has to offer.

The South Coast Tour with Volundur (Wally) of Your Day Tours was truly a highlight of our Iceland trip. The itenerary including magical waterfalls, a black sand beach, and a walk to a glacier places this in the must do category by itself. But our driver, Volundur, turned a rainy September day into a lighthearted adventure. His narration was fascinating and at times very funny. He kept his audience engaged while he shepherded us safely and efficiently around the terrains of the natural environment and the rest stops. We highly recommend the South Coast Tour and ask for Volundur (Wally) at YDT through Viatour.

This tour was one of the best I've been on. Clear communication in advance and the timing of breaks made it surprisingly doable as a long road trip. The real highlight though was of course the sites we saw and the choices that the experienced guide Baldwin made about them. For example, we passed waterfalls on our way out, but we went to see then in the afternoon based on how the light would hit them. Baldwin also told great stories about Icelandic history and culture, and he gave clear guidance about how to be safe even at locations where some precautions are necessary. Iceland is a fantastically gorgeous and intriguing place. If you're visiting for a few days, I highly recommend spending one day on a tour like this.

Our fantastic guide Baldvin had many interesting stories and details about Iceland as we drove east to Vik and back. He answered a multitude of questions from the group. He even played some music to give us a variety of experience on the long journey including a delightful two minutes of Iceland rap music. The mini bus was very comfortable and even had Wi-Fi which several in the group utilized. This tour had quite interesting variety including two finales: walking very close to a glacier and the chance to walk and climb behind a waterfall. Baldvin made sure we were safe on the black beach of Vik where the waves are incredibly high and can be dangerous. This beach is very unusual and an interesting geological beach worth going to see. The tour from this operator (Your Day Tours?) with Baldwin P. included just the right amount of sightseeing with hotel pickup for a very reasonable price.

Absolutely brilliant from beginning to end.
The wonderful guide, Ingimar, picked us up promptly at 8am. It's quite a long initial journey from Reykjavik, but Ingimar's commentary was funny and informative and the scenery fantastic. It was a great idea to stop for sandwiches etc on the way because we didn't want to waste any time in cafés (although you could if you wanted to)once we were at the amazing attractions.
Gul Foss waterfall was stunning with rainbows on cue and Vik was a pretty traditional town. We loved the black sand beach with it's amazing rock formations and thought that was going to be a highlight. Then the glacier and iceberg filled lagoon was beautiful, but the final stop was our favourite! Going behind Seljalandsfoss waterfall was an incredible once in a lifetime experience. To really experience it be prepared and wear full waterproofs! Ingimar treated us to an extra spectacle by also taking us to the small waterfall that's accessed by a gap in the rocks- waterproof boots needed for that too! I think you need to be fairly active to make the most of the last two, but all the people on the tour enjoyed the sights even if they didn't make it behind/under the waterfalls. My 17 yr old daughter enjoyed it as much as I did. I would thoroughly recommend this tour, an unforgettable trip!
