Emek's profession as a city planner made him the perfect guide for the Finnish architectural tour. Emek was informative and knowledgeable not only on the architecture but the history during the design phase of each building and what influences contributed to that particular design. His love and enthusiasm for the Finnish country are infectious. His well-designed tour explored regions of the city I would have never seen on my own.
Emek is personable with a great friendly demeanor; his insights and passion for Helsinki are contagious. Thank you, Emek – great job!

Taking the architecture tour with Emek on our first day in Helsinki was the best way to start our visit of the city. Our group consisted of 7 people, which turned out to be the perfect size. Emek was extremely knowledgeable and could answer absolutely all our questions (even about where to go for traditional Finnish food). We not only learned a lot about the architectural styles of buildings but also about the history of Helsinki and Finland and we profited from the information given on the tour during the rest of our stay. We can only recommend this tour with Emek!

Having taken varied tours in many countries, this was one of the best tours we have taken anywhere and much more than anticipated. Although branded as an architectural tour (in a country known for wonderful architects), Emek has crafted an experience to explain how the architecture cannot be understood without an understanding of the history and culture. He then proceeded to weave a story that encompassed all the above. We learned far more of the history than we had on a walking tour the previous day (which we had enjoyed).
Emek was very intelligent, interesting and personable. It also helped that the other couple scheduled for the tour failed to show, having had travel difficulties, and somehow our 90 minute tour turned into 3+ hours.

Highly recommend this architectural tour of Helsinki with Emek. Taking the tour at the beginning of your visit will help you know the layout of the city as a bonus. Truly a five star experience in this beautiful city.

This was an incredible experience. Emek was a remarkably insightful guide, combining history and culture and architecture. He was especially gracious with his time and insights. This was definitely a unique experience that I highly, highly recommend! You won’t look at Helsinki or any other city the same way.

Try to book this tour early in your Helsinki stay, as Emek’s excellent orientation will enhance your time in that beautiful city. He is knowledgeable, easygoing, friendly, and gets his (purposely small) groups into places most tourists would not get to see otherwise. I recommend him unreservedly.

It was a pleasure to take a architecture tour with Emek. He told me so much about every detail and the meaning of every house we went to. We went into several buildings and that was pretty interesting because as a tourist you did‘t have the experience to know what building is worth a visit.
I had to shift the schedule because of a long line in front of the ateneum and he managed to find a new meetingtime. I‘m very glad that it turn out that way. If I ever will be in Helsinki again I would book another tour with aramantours.
