- hilary120170 contributionsNorthern lights photography tour. This experience was awesome. In Rovaneimi the weather was cloudy and snowing in the morning. We thought the trip would be cancelled but were assured that there was going to be a clearing near the Swedish border later that evening. We would have a bit of a drive but would see them. They were absolutely correct. Our guide gave us a few pointers but also took photos of us with the lights in the background. They are great photos. We have seen Northern lights a couple of times since but haven't been able to get the long exposure photos again I got the night we did this trip. Another bonus was the loan of a good tripod. I highly recommend this experience to anyone wanting awesome Northern lights photos.Written 24 March 2025
- travelpablo0 contributionsExcellent Guides for Northern Lights in RovaniemiWe booked two evening Northern Lights Tours and a Husky Dog Tour during our short visit to Rovaniemi. The first night we had a snow storm and cloudy skies which didn’t bode well for viewing Northern Lights but our guide Natasha was able to find our group a clearing to see the sky, we were not disappointed. We decided to book a second night with Andi and took us to another secluded spot, with clear skies and good fortune/luck, we had the most spectacular light show! At one part of the night, it was so bright, it was almost as bright at daytime!! I feel booking two nights significantly increased our chances of seeing Northern Lights. We also booked a Husky Sled tour. Around 90 mins of ride time. The course is roughly 40 mins away from Rovaniemi, well worth the journey there. Both excursion offered included in the price insulated Jump Suits, boots, etc so your Adventure and Experience is warm and toasty So if you find yourself looking for tour guides/excursions in Rovaniemi, call Beyond Artic!Written 22 March 2025
- A_plus_P0 contributionsExcellent tripWe had a great time seeing the frozen waterfalls. Our guide, Soizic, was fantastic and we loved everything about the tripWritten 21 March 2025
- 929adelinec0 contributionsLovely NightI went with my friends to see the northern lights. We did catch the northern lights, but the main reason I wanted to join them was because they claimed to be good at photographing the northern lights. However, the picture turned out to be a disappointment. But you should still give it a go because it might just be that one night when the guide didn’t take a nice picture. We did enjoy the BBQ around the campfire, though. still a lovely nightWritten 18 March 2025
- 929adelinec0 contributionsLOVED IT!I think this is one of the most underrated activities in Rovaniemi! The hike is hard, but it's not super challenging! You should join them if you have the time! They did a circuit trip, and the photos taken by our guide are really nice. They will provide snowshoes with spikes for you as well. The view along the hike to see the frozen waterfalls is just jaw-dropping.Written 18 March 2025
- Roving622383465840 contributionsRiisintunturi (15th Feb, 2025)Thanks Beyond Arctic for hosting us. My guide Oren made this trip a memorable one. The weather gods also were kind as we had blue skies throughout. Riisintunturi gives you an another world experience,it's worth trying. The guides hospitality, photo skills and the information shared just made it a memorable day for us! Highly recommend this!!Written 9 March 2025
- Scram20 contributionsFinn, you are amazing!Had an amazing experience with Finn. Finn is very passionate about the Northern lights. Even if we did not see them, he was an experience in itself to listen to him. He has gone above and beyond my expectations to find us the northern lights! Thank you Finn, you have created some beautiful memories for a long time! There was very little chance to see the northern lights in Finland so we drove to Sweden and luck was on our side. We had a show for 90 mins before the clouds came back. Thank you also to the Beyond team to allow us to reschedule the hunt as the weather was not good the day before.Written 26 February 2025
- NausicaaNL0 contributionsNice ride with cool pictures but misleading descriptionThe guide was very friendly and took nice photo's (a big reason for me to pick this tour as a solo traveller, only having selfies gets boring). However, the tour feels a little rushed. It is described as a 'half day experience', but we were there for less than 1,5 hours, the rest is transport and waiting. They also advertise with 'small groups', but send multiple small groups at the same time, which kind of defeats the purpose. Upon arrival, we were quickly loaded into a sleigh, without much introduction/explanation of the farm or anything abour reindeer. the ride was quite fun, and it was cool to see the reindeer up really close. After the ride (about 20 min, but that is long enough), we got to feed our own reindeer quickly, but that was it. Not the feeding of the herd etc they show on the site. The warm drinks and pancakes afterwards were very nice though. Again, the guide was very friendly, can not be faulted. But the description as 'a half day experience on a reindeer farm' is misleading. It is a short ride, quick feed and then nice snacks.Written 21 February 2025
- Urnerin0 contributionsDid not meet expectationsThe walk itself could have been done in about 15 minutes, but lasted about an hour with photo shootings, not included the photos taken before the walk. The snack in the kota lasted more than one hour, I booked this tour because of the snowshoe hike, not because of the kota. So of a 3-hour trip just 15 minutes of hiking. Then 8 photos of me and 9 of my companion but 15+ of the other participants. And last but not least, we paid 60 Euros to get picked up outside of Rovaniemi, an then you contacted us in the morning one hour before pickup to tell us, you could pick us up one whole hour later than planned, because you would pass our hotel anyway on the way to the hike - 60 Euros!!! Sorry guys, but really really disappointing. Would expect a partial refund of this trip! Only positive reviews for the clear images and the interesting information of the finnish and sami culture.Written 21 February 2025
- sarahwW5220PB0 contributionsFLUFFY SNOWSO MUCH FLUFFY SNOW!!! This was such an incredible experience! Was amazing to wonder through the Forrest surrounded by pine trees covered in snow! Oren was amazing and allowed us to run around in all the deep snow and live our childhood dreams of making snow angels and having snowball fights (and managed to capture some great pictures on camera)! Oren also gave us some handy tips on how to build a fire and get it nice and hot!Written 20 February 2025
- Roam449488135090 contributionsWell organised, incredibly friendly and a joy from start to finish. The backcountry skiing adventure was fantastic and Beyond Arctic were so friendly and efficient when we booked this. Our guide was Oren who is one of the most warm, friendly, funny and thoughtful people I have met. One of our party was celebrating her 40th birthday and afterwards he surprised her with a lovely birthday cake which he had purchased in secret on the way. Skiing through a silent sunny forest on thick snow was breathtakingly stunning and lots of fun and Oren really seemed to enjoy taking lots of photographs which we could then access afterwards to view. We were given time and space to really enjoy the experience, with Oren always being near in case we fell over(only once!). On that note I can say that its fun and easy for people with very little experience with skiing. The whole experience was a real delight from start to finish and I would recommend it to anyone.Written 20 February 2025
- lisasV8483WD0 contributionsVery good. It would have been great but the day was longer than expected because of stopping a lot on the hike.Very beautiful hike. Our guide was great. This is not a hike for someone with knee issues. This is not a beginner hike. It is 90 minutes from Rovaniemi to start the hike just so you plan your day accordingly. We were given winter suits and boots, hats and mittens if you needed them. We were warm enough.Written 17 February 2025
- 735antoning0 contributionsAn activity perfectly suited for a family or a small groupWe would like to thanks our guide Andy. Despite a bad weather she managed to find a spot with a clear sky. We enjoyed the activity within a place with nobody around. Perfect conditions to be amazed with the north light while having comforting grilled foods and hot drinks.Written 16 February 2025
- OnAir554940262050 contributionsTerrible hostAvoid Jorge / this tour like a plague. Completely unprofessional, no toilet break for 6 hours, no sausages cooked on a fire, just relentless chasing the lights and getting angry at his apps. Stuck on motorways trying to hope over fences to avoid the traffic. Saw a 2 second glimpse of the lights but that's fine, they aren't guaranteed. What they needed to do (and 100% failed on) was basic hospitality and creating an experience outside of the lights to make sure everyone had a nice time. I came away with bladder pains, anxiety etc and I was made to feel like a problem. Save your money. Terrible experience, totally unprofessional guide that should be fired.Written 16 February 2025

Oren has accompanied me on a trip for the second time. Highly professional, an excellent tour guide and a very nice person. I recommend all tours.Written 15 February 2025

We had an excellent day hiking with Oren. He was a great guide : easy going and entertaining with his stories. He photographed us and the scenery along the way but I would still recommend taking your own pictures. The excursion was only three hours including pickup and drop off; would have liked a longer day - perhaps we were quick since it was only 2 of us plus guide.

Beautiful walking tour through the forest. Juho was a perfect guide, pleasant and attentive. He knew the area, flora, fauna and geology very well. It was also very helpful when taking photos (I didn't have the camera properly calibrated). A beautiful walk with very interesting and entertaining conversation, and very easy to do. I recommend this activity.

We booked ahead, and while one of our activities was cancelled due to bad weather, these guys were happy to shift things around to accommodate us. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. We had a good (easy) hike in the national forest and caught nil-fish on our fishing trip, but enjoyed both thoroughly.

Had a great walk and photo taking experience through the forest with Oren. He was a good guide and took some nice photos. Only one draw back was that it felt rushed as he said he had to get the car back so his boss could use it. Trip was advertised as 4-5 hours and we did about 3 hours.

Two adults went on this rather rough, stony trail. Everything was explained well, so we knew what to expect. The views were gorgeous, and our guide Markus anticipated all of our needs.
