      Magical forest at night
Fabulous nighttime electric snowmobile trip, from the Snow hotel into the forest. Northern lights came out to play and our guide, Ali, was wonderful. Sausage and cinnamon roll cooked over the fire and a magical ride through the glittering forest.

Worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY. Thrilling and a whole day adventure.
We took a shot in the dark with this one, as it didn't have many reviews but we can say with ABSOLUTE confidence that this was our best experience in Finland. We won't cover the full itinerary but you travel over 70km through the beautiful landscapes and frozen forests of Lapland over 6-ish hours, with plenty of breaks for fantastic photos. Certainly recommend this for every level from entry to experienced (it was our first time on snowmobiles). It gives every single thrill with the occasional challenge - from weaving turns, to steep and winding routes. Half way through, you get to explore the man-made ice hotel which was very interesting, but best of all you get a hot drink and a full meal with a desert, which was top class. They provide all the kit, the only things we would suggest - take your own thick gloves and layers it feels a LOT colder when driving, especially if sat in the passenger seat. Aleksi and Mr Koivu (I think that's his name! Birch?!) were our instructors and were absolutely brilliant in covering the fundamentals and making sure you were safe at all times.

Excellent first snowmobile experience with Temu.
Never snowmobiled before, but we went for individual machines rather than riding pillion for 1/2 the trip and swapping over, and glad we did. Although we had warm clothes, we opted for their offer of snowsuits on top. Excellent trip headed by Temu our knowlegable local Finnish guide, and his helpful young Italian assistant. Wonderful feeling going along the deserted frozen Kemi River in Rovankiemi, then through the twisting forest tracks to the isolated hut and hot drinks and food at the halfway stage. Great experience, felt safe and looked after the whole trip which lasted about 3 hours.

Northern Lights - a beautiful creation by nature
Thank you very much Safartica in particular Julien, Raul & Anita for being the tour guide for Aurora Borealis Picnic I visited Rovaniemi from India just to watch the Northern Lights. I loved the first night's light show and picnic so much that I had to book for the second night. Anyone who is looking at this review, if you haven't had a chance to see the lights yet I would recommend to book via Safrtica as they have options for pickup & drop from your location and the guides are well informed and polite. Again, thanks Anita for your patience, Raul for being a perfect host and sharing tons of knowledge on Northern Lights and lastly Julien for going the extra mile and showing the printouts to make us understand how the Northern Lights are created. The pictures I have shared are not edited. On the first day the lights (red & green) weren't that strong, but just see the pictures of the second day 🤩; spectacular green just lit the night sky!

A great snowmobile experience with Rob and Chris
We had a wonderful snowmobiling tour with Rob and Chris. Thank you so much for your guidance, smiles and helpfulness. If you come to Rovienemi, you should definitely try this tour in Safartica, don't forget to ask for Rob and Chris as guides.

100% do it and trust you’ll get the best experience possible.
Safartica were great to book through. All provided equipment & clothing for the cold was great quality including the snowmobiles. The guide (Emile) was fantastic and although we arrived back at HQ over 1 hour later than planned (@ 00:15), this was due to Emile giving us time to experience and photograph the Northern Lights which were just astounding. The company clearly strives to provide the best possible experience for customers rather than rushing. The passion for this was certainly evident with Emile. A POSITIVE POINT TO NOTE. Safartica have their own insurance to cover customers in the event of an injury or medical issue. This is something that was a surprise to me when arriving at Safartica. Many from the UK would ordinarily have to add ‘extreme sports’ to their travel insurance which can be costly. This is a real bonus.

      Thank you
We had such a great day! We started right near the office and took a ride on the frozen river near Rovaniemi, through a forest and on a frozen lake. We stopped at a hilltop to enjoy the view over the frozen landscape. We spent 4-5 hours driving the snowmobile, definitely enough time to get used to the driving style, it had the perfect length for a day trip. In between we took a break in a tepee in the middle of the forest with lunch from the campfire. Our guide Niko made it very special, very authentically he told us a lot about country and people and cooked a delicious soup. Thank you for making that day so memorable, it was the best experience of our holidays.

      We had an absolute blast!
We had an absolute ball on our snowmobiling experience. Rob made everything so easily and fun. Even in a big group, Rob made us all feel safe and reassured that we were doing a great job driving our own on the safari. He was so encouraging of less confident drivers and he conscientiously stopped to take gorgeous photos of the group throughout the trip. I could not recommend this experience more highly!

      First time lucky Aurora Humting
Went for aurora hunting in Saariselka with Safartika with my tour package. I enjoyed the trip very much. The guide is very helpful and provide much information about the aurora as we go around. She is also very experienced and look around for the best place to hunt for the aurora. We are lucky and saw the it at the first place we landed. Spend two hours there and still can't get enough of it. And the weather was also just around -5C. We are offered gingerbread and warm berry drinks too.

What a fantastic and unforgettable day!
We met the group at their office in the centre of Rovaniemi and were transported to an out of town location. We were provided with clean and excellent quality warm clothing, boots, gloves etc before walking the short distance to the awaiting snowmobiles. The ride through the frozen landscape was exhilarating and we loved it so much. My husband drove, whilst i took in the views and scenery. I was most excited about the ice fishing and it did mot disappoint. We did not catch anything, but that did not affect us. The weather was crisp, clear and very cold and we travelled to a traditional hut within the forrest, where we were given hot soup, coffee and cinnamon buns. It was a truly unforgettable day! Away from the crowds and out in nature. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a nature/thrill ride. Safartica were a well organised tour group and their guides were exceptional. They were friendly, taught us well and spoken perfect english. Thank you for a great and unforgettable day.

Terrible experience with Edward from Safartica
We did a snowmobile safari through Safartica on 10th December 2024 through Safartica. While the safari was okay (though not worth the price) had a terrible experience with the guides- especially Edward (atleast that’s what his jacket read). More details below- 1. The first guide (not Edward) opened the bus door incorrectly because of which it got stuck and the tour was delayed by 50mins. However, there was no remorse or guilt on her face and she did nothing to apprise the participants of ETA or to make them feel comfortable. 2. The second guide Edward was very rude and seemed like a no it all and like he was doing us a favour by taking us on the safari. Even for minor (12 inches) deviation from the route he was being very rude to first time drivers and made no attempt to empathise and help them out. 3. He was constantly using his phone while driving his snowmobile (probably in overconfidence). Not sure if Finland laws allow this. 4. The guides did not have enough vegetarian food for the bonfire and they blamed the participants for not choosing veg option while booking. However on the booking page there is no option to choose a vegetarian meal. Would request safartica and Finland police and local authorities to look into this as this is spooling the image of Finland. Most probably Edward is not Finnish as we found all Finnish people to be quite friendly and helpful.

A waste of time and money…
SAVE YOUR MONEY… The most unprofessional tour I have ever taken. The only reason I gave it 1 star was to write this review. We took the Aurora Hunting Photo Tour on Sunday 5/1/25. A complete shambles, no direction from the guides, unprofessional and dismissive of my concerns about what was happening when we were left to our own devices on a frozen river. The conditions for The Northern Lights were not ideal, no issues with mother nature. The lack of direction and professionalism from the 2 guides was very disappointing. Will never recommend this company. Save your money and just go for a walk and look at the sky, you may not see The Northern Lights or if you’re lucky you may. But you will save yourself 200 Euros.

      Cold but fantastic!
A fantastic day trip - would highly recommend. Even in -20 degree weather we still loved it (although I strongly suggest bringing hand warmers for your gloves and in your socks). We didn’t catch any fish but honestly the Finnish soup, around a fire, for lunch was all that we needed. Definitely book this one in!

e-Sled Snowmobile and Aurora Picnic Tours!
We did two tours with Safartica during our time in Rovaniemi - a three hour e-sled snowmobile tour through the forest, and the aurora evening picnic. Both were very good, although I personally liked the small group size of the e-sled more than the large group used for the picnic. The tour guides were very helpful and friendly, and provided plenty of snacks. The snowmobiling tour was excellent, it was advertised as through the “wilderness” and the tour guide delivered! We took a break halfway inside of a wooden cottage where there was also a fire (warmth!) with grilled sausages and delicious cinnamon pastries cooked over the fire. For the aurora picnic, there was sausage and dessert cookies over a fire and we were inside of a teepee so it offered a little break from the cold, which was nice. Also, the suits provided for both activities were very clean (which is not an experience we had with other tour companies during this same trip). I would take another Safartica tour! Note: if you’re looking for an aurora “hunting” tour where the guide changes location to find optimal conditions to see the northern lights, this aurora picnic is not the tour for you. The location was predetermined, with only a chance of seeing the lights — we got lucky because solar activity was strong that evening. Otherwise, it would have just been a picnic in the forest.
