- Tubbytummy0 contributionsMust do tourNot sure if this is correct review location Chat Tours from Athens to Delphi one day English Tour. We meet at Hotel Alameda ( or similar spelling). , this had a few windows broken following student tantrums. It was an early start Staff at hotel very welcoming and advised us in correct location and to wait in area, the are toilets downstairs Chap came round and checked us if list and a modern air con coach arrived. Rules are no food or drink on coach water only. I think alright in your bag but not to be eaten on coach. However due to this the coach was spotless, so there’s the reason. Long drive out with a toilet stop, no toilets on coach or USB points. Yoti (apologies for name) was giving information all the time both about Greece and myology. She very enthusiastic and happy to answer questions. I like the way she really made expectations clear. Eg. 30 mins here so met here at xxx time. She say this several times. We all know there is always one. On site she again very considerate speed of walking as few of us older. As well as clear instructions meet times. The actual information she giving out was constant too, This was done via Bluetooth ear pieces, which she checked every ones before we got of coach. Sensible shoes and bottle of water essential for walk around site. We also had some free time then meet up at the museum. Toilets at museum, no drinking water fountain seen or on the find drinking water apps. Museum entry on the same ticket from main site so keep your ticket . Again tour inside insightful Then off to lunch. We did not want tour lunch ( can be fussy). So opted not to have it. We were dropped of in town again clear unambiguous meet instructions given. Ended up in local bar. Pickup as stated then drive back for early evening about 1900 hrs. I really liked the way Yoti brought the Greek myology to the present day. This linkage was really great.Written 10 March 2025
- L_K15090 contributionsGreat tourTour to Delphi in English from Athens. Organisation of the tour was very good. We met at the hotel pick up point and left on time. Coach was comfortable with air conditioning. Our guide, Yota (10/3/25) was friendly, professional from start to finish. I cannot imagine there is anything she does not know about Greek history and mythology. Without Yota explanation Delphi would have been difficult to understand. There are a few signs but not enough to bring the place to life. Clear instructions provided at each site and meeting points. I would recommend the tour. Tip! Delphi is on a hill side, lots of steps and uneven surfaces. Bring comfortable shoes and water, as there is no facilities at the site ( there is at the museum)Written 10 March 2025

- Bet-Hanan0 contributionsInteresting trip, don't book the lunch.Delphi is well worth a visit and this was undoubtedly a hassle free way to do it. We were collected on time and kept to the timetable without feeling rushed which can happen on bus tours. The guide, Averkius, was knowledgeable and explained well if somewhat slowly, as if speaking to unintelligent people. We're world travellers on trips like this, give us some credit. He laughed at his own unfunny comments continuously. He also failed to thank our driver, Nikos (?) who drove us patiently all day with a terrible traffic jam at the end of the day. A farewell thank you was definitely in order. Lunch, this has to be the absolutely worst meal I've ever eaten in Greece, and this is my 6th visit! We asked for vegetarian and were given spaghetti with a tasteless sauce. I recommend that you don't take the lunch option and eat in the village. Was it worth it? Yes, the convenience factor overrides the disadvantages.Written 5 February 2025

- E2714KRrichards0 contributionsEducational and pleasant Delphi with Greek history lessons. Our docent, Dimitria, possessed exceptional knowledge of ancient Greek history and language. Her tutorials at Delphi, and descriptions of ancient Greek life, were lucid and enjoyable. She presented explanations of various myths (Oedipus and Demeter) and lessons which ancient people would recognize. She is an excellent tour guide, and pleasant to engage. The off-season (31JAN2025) commute from Athens to Delphi required ~3H one way. No snow to complicate bus travel. One ding -- no WiFi on small commuter bus, but there are USB ports to charge your phone.Written 1 February 2025
- Dream004734105760 contributionsFantastic day trip to DelphiAn excellent day trip from Athens to Delphi - our guide brought the history to life, told us legends, and informed us about things we saw on the way. Delphi is AMAZING - incredibly picturesque scenes, interesting classical remains (Greek and Roman), beautiful parkland to walk through, and the modern village where we stopped for lunch is delightful. We chose to find our own lunch in Delphi and there were plenty of choices, including restaurants with stunning views over the valley to the sea. The van was comfortable, which was good since it’s about 3 hours each way and we got picked up and dropped off at a hotel close to where we are staying. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and highly recommend this provider.Written 24 January 2025

- Total-Biz-Traveller0 contributionsThe Mycenae Archeological site worth for history buffsMycenae, Mikines, Archeological Site Our final stop is the archeological site of Mikines, (there are several spellings of this place, am confused, guessing the Greek are as well, haha) Nice slow walk up the mountain, not too bad, less strenuous than the other sites we visited! But it appears that the one and only point of real interest is the Lion Head, beside of course the various remnants of this site, clearly explained in the various tablets/signs well positioned as appropriate! We got our fill of history on Greece on this trip, although I know there are many more to be explored, but just that there is never enough time! But we got a great idea & exposure which is what it was all about! Credit to Greeka.com: The Mycenaean Acropolis in Kolymbithres Paros: The hill overlooking Kolymbithres is the site where remains of the Mycenaean Acropolis are found from the 13th century BC. - V9318OGmichaelw0 contributionsA day cruise you won't want to miss! This was such a great time. It was both my birthday and our 30th anniversary, and we decided to celebrate by touring some of the small islands along the coast of Greece. The day was pretty much perfect, the lunch bountiful and delicious, and the entertainment/dancing near the end of the tour was goofy and fun (the dancers were great: we were the goofy ones). The islands visited by the cruise may be less known than Santorini or Mykonos; however, they have equal and abundant charm. We upgraded because of the special occastion, and it was worth every euro! We were accommodated well, and one of the staff--Costas--treated us like royalty, anticipating everything we needed for a comfortable and exciting voyage. Nothing but great things to say about this experience.Written 20 December 2024

This is a very very touristy type excursion. We visited the parking lot of the acropolis for 10 minutes then took a bus ride through town to the venue. They did have some dancers in costume for a few minutes, but most of the show is bringing tourists up out of the audience to try to dance, and everybody gets to laugh at them. The venue was 85% empty. The food was OK.
It was a pleasant evening, but not what expected

Honestly I think we probably had a guide who was filling in for someone else who usually did it! He was a young guy, student age, who spoke in a monotone as if he was reading from a script. Several times he referred to “stuff” and spoke about things we were passing on the bus that we couldn’t see eg the Library buildings not lit up, several Gardens and statues he said “ come back and see in the daytime”! We were taken to The Acropolis and the Original Olympic Stadium ( which had an event on so couldn’t get very close to photograph!), but nothing else of value. The dinner and show however were lots of fun. Authentic music and Greek dancing and even plate smashing 😍. The food was a modest set menu, but good quality and tasty. The entertainment staff made a good job of getting the audience involved, which saved the Tour. Next time I’ll just go for dinner!

The dinner and show are the focus of this tour--it's important to know that before booking. Our travel agent booked this for our family of four--and we were expecting an evening tour of the city with opportunities to see the sights lit up at night, so we were disappointed. The bus picked us up at our hotel and made two other stops along the way for other guests. It was a clean, comfortable bus with A/C. The guide was an enthusiastic gentleman who really wanted everyone to have a fun/nice time. He talked a little about Athens, the language, etc. Our first stop was the Acropolis where they let us off the bus for a quick (5 minute) photo at the base of the hill. It was still broad daylight, so we didn't see how the Acropolis looked lit up at night. They asked us to take our photos quickly and return to the bus. Luckily, we had toured the Acropolis that morning and took some wonderful, close-up photos. We then continued on to the Panathenaic Stadium where we once again were asked to take a quick photo and return the bus. Other than that, the sightseeing consisted of looking out the window as we quickly passed other landmarks. The dinner was typical tourist fare--as previous reviewers have mentioned. The show encouraged spectator participation, and our two teens were happy to join in. (They said afterwards that participating in the dancing, etc. is what made the night fun.) For people who don't enjoy "getting involved" or getting up on the stage to participate, this isn't the show for you. There are better places to eat in Athens and we didn't see any sights lit up at night. This would be a great show for a large group who want to experience the Greek culture, music, dancing or even a high school group touring Athens. Overall, this isn't what we expected, but we made the most of it. Our guide/host was a delightful man who clearly wanted to share his culture with us, and I'm glad he encouraged our family to get involved because that's what made the tour worthwhile.

Hello from Chat Tours,
Thank you for your review.
We would just want to clarify that the tour is considered to be a drice through the most important sites of the city and with two brief stops for photos and information at the Olympic Stadium and the Acropolis. Entries at the sitesare not included. As this tour startsat 20:00 pm and ends up at 23:00 pm , you could understand that there are time limits and we have to split the the time between sightseeing tour and dinenr with show. All these details are written down in the description of the tour at clients' vouchers. On the other hand , we strongly believe that the mornign Athens Sightseeing Tour is the suitable one for somebody who wants to have a full and complete view of the city , as entrances at the sites in the morning tours are included. Last but not least , we would like to mention that the tavern Kalokerinos is the oldest and best place in Athens that has this programme that of course is focused in tourists leisure.
Always at your disposal,
Angelina Skyla.

There. Was no night time tour of the city as promoted just a mention of anything we passed. We waited in one bus for 20 minutes to be transferred to another bus leaving no time to tour during the evening we were squashed in like sardines in the restaurant and a small glass of coke cost 5 euro

This tour was advertised as a dinner and a show, but the majority of the time was spent pressuring the audience to get on stage with the dancers. There were no stops to take pictures of the Acropolis as suggested in the description, and that should be removed. While dinner itself wasn't bad, I specifically booked this tour to photograph the illuminated Acropolis, but we barely got a glimpse of it. They were late picking us up, and the dinner and show took far too long. We actually had better views from our hotel balcony than what was shown to us. The constant pushing to join the dancers on stage was extremely uncomfortable and not something we expected. Had we known this was all the tour offered, we would have left much earlier, but we stayed thinking we would still get the promised photo opportunities.

Athens night sightseeing tour -that is a joke. The tour guide I had pointed out all the hotels - allowed two stops of 5mins each to take a photo one of the acopolois and one of the Olympic stadium - very rushed and not at all a sightseeing tour. As some passengers hadn’t paid and were doing so by credit card this delayed us and when we got to the dinner tavern - the show had already commenced . The dinner was adequate but not anything flash - entree was already in table - some salad dishes . Main was a choice lamb, chicken or vegetarian and desert was a scoop of icecream . The only thing that was good was the folk dancing show which in hindsight I would have been better just going to see that and taking a taxi there for the dismissal night sightseeing part.

This was a fun evening, but I was disappointed that I didn't have more opportunities to photo some one the sights at night. We did get to the Acropolis just as the sun was setting, which was very pretty. The show was fun, food very mediocre tourist fare.

Dear guest,
Thank you for the comment.
The main point of the Athens By Night tour is the folklore show in the traditional greek tavern in the old neighbour of Athens Plaka.
We cannot make more stops because of the time limits.
We hope to see you again in our country.
Kind regards,
Petros Monos

This is not a tour I could recommend. The sightseeing was a complete waste of time as we did not even get a good view of the Parthenon from the bus or from the 10 minutes we got to explore off the bus. The dinner was very ordinary, we would have been better off finding ourselves a nice greek restaurant. The only redeeming feature was the greek singing and dancing, unfortunately it was not enough to make the trip worth it.

We enjoyed all of the activities.
Some funny things with the dancing — broken plates and dinner audience members almost getting kicked in the face!
Dinner was good.
Got to see the Parthenon from a difference perspective at sundown, and also saw original modern Olympic stadium.(1896).

This was exactly as advertised. We were picked up from the hotel in a comfortable vehicle and driven around for about half an hour getting pictures of a few sights. I would not suggest that you depend on this tour solely for your sight seeing but it was the perfect supplemental for those nighttime pictures!!
We made it to the restaurant and the food was fabulous! A good variety and plenty! There restaurant was also able to accommodate my celiac friend. The show was great and as interactive as you wanted it to be. Our guide was also very friendly and informative.

I actually had to go to another hotel close by for pick-up. They did drop me off at my hotel. You tell them where you are staying and they respond if pickup is at your hotel and if not where it is close by.
