Beautiful cruise with some misinformations
We weren't warned of the meat only menu, my wife doesn't eat meat, we thought the menu would have one meat main dish and another main dish of fish, that wasn't the case, we had to send the meat dish back and wait around 40 minutes for a vegetarian meal.
In the end of the cruise, the ship docked on the Gaia side of the river instead of the Porto side like it said on the itinerary.
All in all, despite these facts it was a very lovely cruise full of beautiful views.

Usually on the moment of the booking is required specifications on the observations field so we can know if the client has allergies or if they need specif food, so we can inform the boat operator. We booked the 7-hour boat trip locally where we stayed in Ribiera and loved every minute of the cruise. The staff and food were really good and we were never bored. Watching the stunning River banks of the Douro river kept as entertained and we cannot recommend this trip enough.

A delightful cruise on the Douro

This trip is well worth the price. Our train ride from the Sao Bento station in Porto to Regua passed vineyards, small towns, and farms. Our guide Phillipa was on top of things for our entire journey.The Barcadouro staff was gracious and responsive. Lunch was very good. While there is seating for all @ lunch, there is not enough seating on the upper deck during the cruise. When we boarded, most of the seats were already taken. My husband & I stood or took turns sitting. It is possible to move around during the cruise, which was a plus.

We were told by phone on Saturday the day before our scheduled trip that hotel pick up was not available as was part of package and to go to train station by 0:915 the next day for pick up, we arrived at 08:58 to wait and look for guide no one ever showed up, finally reaching someone by phone at TripAdvisor we were told they would contact local company and get back to us. That never happened. We missed a whole day of planned activities and we spent over $500.00 for NOTHING. Give us a refund please, we are not at fault, we did what we were instructed to do, and are time on the River was lost.

As one that is used to doing a lot of research, this trip was so easy. The organisers confirmed a number of times and were very helpful on the day. Arrive early if you fancy a coffee at the Station ( great value). The train trip was very relaxing but no reserved seats. Views all round. Walk from train to boat was short and once on board the crew were excellent. Glass of port followed by tasty lunch with wine. The crew were very relaxed and extremely accomodating. Good commentary too.
Very relaxing day. But needed a walk after sitting all day.
