Also get to Camara de Lobos as well as Funchal. Very interesting information and thoroughly recommend.
I would highly recommend doing this bus tour as you not only get lots of interesting and factful information but also not only do you get to go around Funchal but also to Camara de Lobos also. Lots of stops or stay on and do the whole tour and then maybe get off when you decide where you want to see more of etc. Really enjoyed it.

Great way to see an Island
5 out of 5. A brilliant way to sight see an island whilst on holiday. Worth the money. Drivers all spoke good English and are very friendly

A great tour with good audio
A good tour with headphones for audio, plugging into the back of he seat in front. Exploring the main sights and some interesting facts from the (very enthusiastic) English pre-recorded audio! Make sure you grab a map / leaflet from one of the ticket offices or reps.

What time do you start timetable i the morning
Have used the yellow bus on 12 visits over 40 years. Always something new to see on this ever changing island. Yesterday our trip was very informative but so hot that we would like to start very early tomorrow morning. What time is your first bus near the cable car. Thank you

    Scenic and good info
Good tour. Nice to sit on the open top with the breeze cooling you and good views. Good info from the earphones. Camara de Lobos was a very pretty place to get off the bus and have a drink and wander around the shops. We also stopped off at the shopping centre. We bought 2 day ticket in case there was somewhere else we wanted to stop. The next day we went to the fish market and there are a lot of shops around this area that we might not have found if not for the bus. When we had finished we got the bus back up to our hotel which was at the top of a very steep road so it was nice not to have to walk up.

Nice views clean buss friendly staff
The tour gives you a real good overview of the places to visit in and around Funchal. Sufficient stops and stops are only taking a few minutes. Friendly staff ! When it comes to the Dutch translation it really needs a complete review. The voice of the lady is not that pleasant to listen and overall it looks like she is translating out of a fairytale book. Many sentences are not that common and really could use a makeover. Sometimes her sentences are just cut off in the middle. Madeira s local drinks are .... and her voice stops in the middle of the ingredients list. How can I make that cocktail ?

    Good value over 48 hours
Reasonable price for a 48 hour pass. We had the pass that covered Camara de Lobos and the Skywalk and used day one for these and the second day to do hop on hop off around Funchal.

    Great Route; Lengthy waits
Pleasant drivers and if you have a degree in logistics and can work out the likely arrival of a bus…a lovely route. Hardly hop on/off though; with 45 minute gaps in the timetable!; (which would be made easier with an online bus locator checker) we enjoyed our 2 day pass for trips to camera da lobos and doca do cavacas; but had some lengthy waits till we sussed it.

    Good views from top deck
We found the bus tour very helpful being this our first time in Madeira. The bus does get very busy we stopped off at the little fishing village and the Madeira wine tasting was fun but the embroidery museum was temporarily closed.

    Great to see the city
Great to see the city. Reasonable prices. Buses were reliable every 30-45mins and timetables were on each stop. We stopped at the fisherman’s village for food - assumed all restaurants took cards but this one didn’t and was cash only which they only mentioned after we’d ate so best to check (every other restaurant over the 3nights/4days we were there did)

Good Value, Relaxing Way to Travel
Excellent value for money. Drivers super. Super relaxing and you can hop on and hop off as you please. We chose a 5 day ticket at 27euros each and we used it every day to go down into the town centre and further afield. The buses are frequent and clean. The free earphones plug you into a commentary and explains the history of the area.

    Awful experience
We did a bus tour early March 2023. This was probably the worst hop-on, hop-off bus tour I have ever done and I have done numerous ones around the world. First of all the English commentary does not state the number of the stop you are approaching, it only gives general information about the area. Therefore, you have got to sit on the right hand side of the bus to check which stops you pass. Then if you are sitting upstairs you have to get up out of your seat on a moving bus and walk half way down the bus to press the button to let the driver know you want to get off, because he doesn’t stop automatically at every stop. It is quite a stressful experience. The commentary is not very interesting and interspersed with a lot of music that is not to everyone’s taste. Surely the time could be filled with more information about Madeira? Furthermore, the buses only run every 30 mins and every 45 mins in the afternoon. Long time to wait if you just miss one.

    Poor experience
I bought two 24 hour tickets for the Yellow bus tour in Funchal. Andrea Santos sold me the tickets. She said they were 37 euros, then asked for 7 euros because she had no change. I gave her two 20 euros and 7 euros. She gave me 3 euros change. She was rushing us onto the next bus and it was only when I returned to my hotel I realised she had kept 10 euros. My receipt does not say I gave her 47 euros. It says only 37 euros. I'm really concerned she will continue to con people out of money as she did with me, so beware. I sent the company an email. Still waiting on a reply.

    Rich culture, history and beauty.
This was a worthwhile trip. The weather was beautiful so you could see everything clearly. Madeira is a beautiful place and we couldn't do all the tours. But really glad we did this one. Highly recommend it to learn about the history and culture.

We did the 3 in 1 tour today, boarding at the teleferico and gettting off at Camera de Lobos, where we spent about 1-2 hours. This included having lunch. There isn't actually a huge amount to see at CdL. The cafe where we had lunch was very slow because a party of 12 had come in just before us and ordered several courses. It must have taken 45 mins to actually get our food. They were equally slow in bringing the bill and we saw the yellow bus depart under our noses.
Despite having being told the buses run every 30 mins, the next one wasn't scheduled for another 1.30 mins! Luckily we worked out it must be turning round for the return journey and managed to get on it at the stop on the road immediately above where we had got out. We also stopped off at the Forum shopping centre but what time the bus actually came for the return journey was anybody's guess! Apparently the last one was 4 pm - ours came at around 3.50 pm. You have been warned!
The bus ticket is only valid for 24 hrs but apparently the cable car trip can be taken at any time. We are planning to do this tomorrow if this info is correct. I can only agree with the other people reviewing this service that the timing is dodgy, but in January there was at least very view people on the bus. Tip: Sit right at the front behind the windscreen if poss as it was very windy further back.

We purchased our tickets at a tourist shop and the girl had written the wrong amount on the ticket, so the first driver would not let us on. As my husband set off down the steep hill to get the ticket amended a second bus arrived and the lovely driver happily shouted us back and amended the ticket for us. From that point on every driver was lovely, and very helpful in helping us find our way around. Great way to see the sites and get your bearings. The commentary was a bit hit and miss depending which bus you were on. We were visiting at Christmas and the weather was stunning and the buses not too crowded so we always managed to get seats on the open top deck.

Bus on runs every hour. No timetable at each stop, very unorganised , caused a lot of stress. This was the red bus. The yellow bus was more regular and had a timetable at each stop. One can purchase an octopus card for the local buses which I would highly recommend purchasing one

We were really disappointed by the Yellow Bus tours. Having been recommended them over rhe City Sightseeing tours, we bought a 48 hour pass. The commentary is dreadful. There is very little information, mainly music, and what commentary there is is badly read and really doesn't give you a good guide of what you are passing. In the morning the buses are every 1/2 an hour, but in the afternoon every 45 minutes with no timetables on the website or bus stops, so you find yourself just missing buses and waiting for a long time. All in all its not great value for money, especially as children are only up to 10 (since when is a 11 year old an adult).

As there are not many tourists as usual on the island the busses have been cut down so you have to wait longer for a bus. Because of this I couldn’t do the Cabo girao tour. I then tried to go a second time on the next day but even then the first bus left late so I couldn’t make for the Cabo girao connecting bus. There was another one after but I may not have made it back in time for my flight especially with how unreliable these busses are. So I wasn’t taking that risk. I would not really recommend this doing this until everything is back to normal and they have loads more busses running. For now I would say use local busses or walk. At least if your in a group a cab is good option as you can split the cost and better than waiting around at a bus stop.

We bought a three route five day ticket. The routes gave us a great overview of Funchal and we thought the cost was good value. The busses only run half hourly and not to an advertised timetable. Whilst this is understandable due to traffic delays road works etc it does mean you can arrive at a stop not knowing a bus has just left and have to wait 30 minutes for the next one.

First time in Madeira and a good option for seeing the sights of Funchal out to Camara dos Lobos where there is a change required to a smaller bus for the Cabo Girao tour. First day we simply did the full circuit on the bigger bus. Second day we used the first bus to get out to change and off to Cabo Girao which was wel worth it. Other days (we had bought the 5 day ticket - the extra €3 was a no brainer for us) we used to get into town from our hotel. Worth the money and I’m sure the other bus companies do something very similar but for what we wants this was fine

Unreliable. We paid for the 5 day 3-1 ticket which appeared cost effective but it turned out there is no time table other than stating that the service is every 45 minutes. After waiting 90 minutes we gave up and had just left when it turned up. There was no apology other than saying the other driver should have turned up. Not impressed!

We had nothing but a positive experience with this company. They went above and beyond to insure we got on the right bus after being confused about where we were to pick up the bus. Their busses are double decker and we loved riding up top until it started raining! They have a good program you can listen to on ear buds they provide but it seemed out of sync with the scenery we were seeing. It could have been I was the one out of sync! Highly recommended
