About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 235risal0 contributionsDon’t miss this tour!We had an amazing guide, Reuben. He was a fount of knowledge. Took us on the back streets of Lisbon, a local Portuguese restaurant (we would never found on our own) and the Christ statue of Portugal. We rode the elevator to the top which was a perfect place to take pictures of Lisbon. As we were leaving the statue lit up. It was a highlight of our trip!!!Written 20 November 2024
- sabatinol4410 contributionsAmazing tourSpectacular guide and experience. Ruben was friendly, knowledgable and masterful at navigating the difficult and crowded areas and terrain around sintra and cascias. He took us to some many incredible places even coming to get us with umbrellas when it started raining. The best way to see these areas of Portugal no doubt!Written 15 October 2024
- Paralia_Karindas0 contributionsΗ Παραλία Καρίντας με την εκπληκτική φυσική ομορφιά με τα καθαρά κρυστάλλινα νερά συνδυάζοντας μέσα άμμο και έξω βότσαλοNestled within a beautiful cove just a few kilometers south of Pyrgi, is Karinda, a wonderful pebble beach with turquoise water. It is a quiet beach with cliffs on both sides, perfect for swimming, sun bathing, fishing and other water activities. The beach has shallow but cold water, and all the basic facilities for a great day on the beach. There is a beach bar with sunbeds and umbrellas, but also enough free space if you choose to lay your own towel or bring your own equipment. The beach is 32.9 km (47 minutes) from Chios town and 6.4 km (14 minutes) from the medieval village of Pyrgi. Getting there is very easy following the paved road from Pyrgi. At the end of the road there is limited parking space, however you can park along the road if the parking space is full. Karinda beach is definitely one of the beaches worth visiting if you are in the southwestern part of Chios. A visit to this beach can be perfectly combined with a tour in the medieval village of Pyrgi, and a visit to the Mastic Museum of Chios which is located nearby.Written 19 September 2024
- jenniferbJ1018KO0 contributionsCarlos is the BEST Tour Guide in Sintra!Carlos found my sisters and I at the train station in Sintra. We were reading maps and trying to decide on our plan for the day to see all the sights we wanted to see. It was quickly clear that we were not going to be able to do it all, when Carlos found us. I admit we were a very hard sell but Carlos' charm and knowledge of the area and his promise to let us see it all and more won us over. In the end, this was the best guided tour we have ever been on! Carlos was super attentive, very funny and witty and extremely knowledgeable in all areas of the region from the past Kingdom, politics, environment, legend and lore. We had an outstanding day and feel that we got the exclusive VIP tour of this beautiful area. Carlos was magic and we cannot say enough great things! You'd be considered very lucky if you are able to get Carlos to guide your excursion!!Written 14 May 2024
- Paula B0 contributionsawesome guide and tour !!Ruben our guide and driver was exceptional in every aspect of the tour. He is knowledgeable about Portugal and its history. We were comfortable and fully trusted his driving skills around the narrow roads and the mountains. We can’t say enough about how pleased we are spending the entire day with Ruben - We will certainly return and hope we can hang with Ruben again real soon - We were so excited that neglected to take a photo with him . Highly recommend Ruben and this private tour. Thank you Ruben, see you next time !Written 10 May 2024
- A3193IPdavidb0 contributionsBreathtaking, wonderful family fun!Wow, we had a wonderful day with our tour guide extraordinaire, Nuno. Nuno’s local knowledge of Sintra, all its Palaces and Chateau’s and the surrounding area was exceptional. Peña Palace was breathtaking and steeped in history, while the tour of Quinta Regaleira was both fascinating and mysterious… Nuno’s luxury Mercedes van was both spacious and spotless. Nuno also took us to an amazing ocean view restaurant for lunch with incredible seafood. He was also happy to pick us up from central Lisbon and take us where ever we wanted to go at the end of the day… we also took in the seaside town of Cascais en route back to Lisbon… this is a very special experience. Five stars doesn’t suffice - great value for money too ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️Written 22 February 2024
- 526laurelk0 contributionsFabulous tourWe spent the day with Ruben Teixeira touring Sintra, the Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira. It was fantastic. Ruben was extremely knowledgable of the history and has a fun personality. I was specific about what I wanted to see and he was very accommodating, of course making recommendations along the way of additional things to do. He managed the time well so that we could accomplish what we wanted to. He took us to a great place for lunch at Apple beach and helped us select local dishes that were delicious. We also tasted local pastry in Sintra that was delicious. On the way back to Lisbon we took a drive along the beautiful coastline and to a lighthouse lookout point. We also drove through Cascais and different parts of Lisbon, learning about all the things to do there. We talked and laughed the whole time. We could not have asked for a nicer day or guide!Written 6 November 2023

- C8737KGmarcd0 contributionsGreat tour, wonderful guideThis was a terrific tour. We had Pedro as our driver/guide, and we couldn't be happier. He was enthusiastic and knowledgable about the various sites, and happy to share his positive energy with us. He promptly picked us up at our hotel. After the Sintra tour, and Cabo da Roca, he took us to a wonderful restaurant on the water in Casscais for lunch where my wife and I were able to enjoy the view. It seemed like the eight hours flew by. I would highly recommend this tour, and with any luck, you'll find Pedro in the drivers seat!Written 10 October 2023
- Polly0510 contributionsBeautiful but terrible ending5 women took this tour from Lisbon. Driver was 20 minutes late picking us up and then had to stop at the store to pick up the water that was “included”. It was advertised as a “luxury” car and it was anything but luxury. Very uncomfortable and could hear nothing in the back seat. Our driver Vincent was very polite and tried his best to get the car very close to our destinations. Sadly we had a terrible car accident on the way home. Vincent called another car to take us the rest of the way back to Lisbon. We tried to get the tour company to pay for our medical supplies (bandages ice packs etc) and the lost night in Lisbon but no success. Thankfully we were not seriously hurt but bruised and shaken up. This company did not care. I would not recommend them because of their lack of concern and lack of compensation.Written 5 October 2023
- Roger960 contributionsExcellent, customized tourWe thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Sintra and area with Pedro. He was a fantastic, knowledgeable guide who was very perceptive as to our preferences. We are not “museum people” but prefer scenery and the outdoors. Pedro adapted the tour to our interests which made it a most enjoyable day. He was very accommodating and never rushed us at the various stops. We would highly recommend Pedro and this tour.Written 14 September 2023
- lufbrogerry0 contributionsAvery good day out but one day is not enough for a visit to Sintra area. The trip was 8 hours in total and took in most of the sights of the Sintra area. Our driver, Miguel, had excellent English and drove skillfully throughout. The main sights we wished to see were the Pens palace, the Quinta de Regaleria and the palacio de Sintra as well as the Cascais beach. However, because of the traffic and long queues it was impossible to do all these properly in a day. We did have a quick look at the exterio of the Sintra Palace and the Cascais beach. We had about 1.5 to 2 hours at the Pena Palace and the Quinta de Regaleria. The Quinta is excellent with lots of quirky follies and a unique small palace and very good value at only 6 Euro (over 65). However, because of queues at "the well" it was not possible to visit this feature - one of the main attractions although there are very many other things to see. Really much more time is required at the Quinta to see everything. The information provided about the Pena Palace was misleading. We realised that, because of the huge queues to go through the palace, we would have to be satisfied with looking at the outside and the extensive grounds but were told by the travel company and our driver that the ticket to the Pena park included the terraces of the palace. This was not the case. There were signs at the Palace entrance explicitly saying that the Park tickets did not include the Palace terraces (famed for their views). Indeed internet searches after we got back to our hotel said that this restriction started some time in 2022. This was rather disappointing!Written 8 September 2023
- Katherine w0 contributionsExceptionalHad a blast with Pedro touring Sintra and Cascais. He was incredibly personable, affable, and knew all of the best spots on drop offs, pickups, and places to eat/drink. Highly recommend booking with Pedro if you are looking for an easy going, informative, and fun/enjoyable experience. Great trip.Written 8 September 2023
- Excursion493222216010 contributionsExceptional!Rubens was a wonderful guide and took us on a very informative private tour of SINTRA area and the Pena Palace. His knowledge of the area and interesting historical context proved quite valuable. The tour itself encompassed a visit to the SINTRA area , doing some shopping and enjoying the local culture. The PENA PALACE WAS WONDERFUL TO VISIT. The architectural features and the history made this one of the highlights of our trip to Lisbon. We cannot say enough about our guide who was truly exceptional! We highly recommend him and the tour itself.Written 1 July 2023
- Margo B0 contributionsSintra with a private guide is a must!!Ruben was an expert level tour guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Portuguese history and his enthusiasm was infectious. The weather situation in Sintra is notoriously hard to navigate and his strategy paid off with beautiful pictures. I highly recommend using a private tour guide for Sintra because it was truly a personalized experience.Written 10 June 2023

I don't know where to even start. Ruben was the most phenomenal tourist guide we have ever had. He picked us at our Airbnb in Sintra and drove us to Porto stopping at various destinations. He was flexible, allowing us to map out our itinerary based on the types of tour we wanted (with his recommendations of course) he was extremely knowledgeable of all local history, best local restaurants and everything else in between. In addition to his knowledge he brought a one of kind energy; he was attentive to our every need, he was delightful to be around, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a trip of a lifetime. Ruben is much more than a tour guide, he became our friend, and what more can you ask for on a vacation to Portugal. It was because of his generosity and remarkable experience we plan to return to Portugal every year! I cannot recommend him and his company enough.
