This is simply a must-do trip. Other trips offer a central location pick up but this trip has pick up at your hotel. The tour advertises that you will be in a group with a common language, however ours was a small mixed language group (Cuban, Spanish and English), our guide spoke both Spanish and English so it wasn’t an issue at all.
Our guide, Luis was excellent. A very funny, intelligent, multi lingual, knowledgeable man who was a joy to behold (and a former part time motorbike journalist as well). He ensured that no one missed out lingually.
This tour ensures that you will see much as possible from the town of Sintra to the western most point of Europe to the stunning Palace of Pena.
Lunch was at the beautiful Cascais and again great advice from Luis to avoid the tourist restaurants, we found an excellent local cafe.
This tour was more than value for money. Yes, you have to pay to go in the sites but the price of admission is cheap. Luis also slightly moved the itinerary around to avoid the crowds which meant less time queueing but also in the current climate more safe.
This tour is highly recommended. Thank you for an extremely memorable day.

Luis was our guide and we loved him! It was so lovely to have a guide to not only drive us around but he was so knowledgeable and able to provide insight to every stop we made and he provided excellent recommendations on the best places to visit and tourist traps to avoid. I'm so glad we booked a tour instead of relying on prerecorded audio tours that can't answer our questions. Luis did a fantastic job and we absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting a more personalized experience.

We had the pleasure of Andre Feldman as our guide for the Sintra/Cascais tour. He quickly puts you at ease and be prepared to be entertained for several hours! We were the last 2 passengers out of 8 to be picked up, and got to ride shot gun which gave us a better view of some of the additional sights and impromptu stops that Andre wanted to highlight along the way. He is the hardest working guide I’ve ever encountered! Imagine a DJ with a playlist for different moods, a kind photographer not only for our group but for other tourists as well, and a comedian influenced by Don Rickles and Johnny Carson. But importantly his love and passion for the culture and history of Portugal (and the world) is evident. He was able to engage all members of our tour in English (and Hebrew) which included a lovely Israeli family, a newly wed couple from California and our Canadian mother/daughter duo. Despite it being his birthday, the tour was not rushed. Some of us thought the tour would end by 4pm but it was only because we had dinner reservations we were dropped off at our hotel after 6pm. He encouraged us to slow down and enjoy the experience and gave us enough time at each stop to explore on our own. He clearly loves his job and that shines through. I highly recommend this tour.

My husband and I did this tour whilst on our honeymoon in Lisbon and we were both in agreement, this tour was THE best day we had in Lisbon!
Our tour guide Andre Feldman honestly made the tour what it was. He was packed with knowledge about everywhere we went which really added some substance to the tour, we weren't just looking at pretty buildings, we were learning the history behind them.
He made our whole group laugh constantly and all the stories made the car journey's feel like they were just minutes long.
We were picked up at 7:45am (we were a few minutes late but Andre patiently waited outside)
We picked up the rest of the group, all of whom were wearing masks and we were frequently offered sanitizer which was reassuring.
We made our way to the sites listed, had a little coffee break at a cafe at around 10am and then a stop for lunch at around 2pm.
The tour was amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed it, I would HIGHLY recommend this tour if you're in Lisbon. Hoping you get Andre Feldman as your tour guide - he really makes the tour well worth it!

I really enjoyed the tour. Our guide Luis is so knowledgeable. He guided us throughout the visit and provided explanation of the history and the background (not only dropping us on and off). He also arranged the time perfectly so we avoided the line to enter Pena Palace. Would recommend this tour to anyone who wishes to explore Sintra and Cascais. The places were all so beautiful. Definitely worth the price.

Andre Feldman was a terrific tour guide in my girlfriend’s and I experience. He took awesome pictures, gave some historical/cultural knowledge, was cracking jokes in English, Italian and Spanish and even helped us by giving us helpful information on our bus trip to Lagos.
We’re thankful that we had him as a tour guide and would recommend him to anybody!

This is a fabulous tour. Andre Feldman was our guide, picked us up at our hotel and did a great job of narrating the tour while interjecting his unique sense of humor to keep us all entertained. Every stop was a highlight including the picturesque town of Sintra, the Quinta da Regaleira, Cabo da Roca, and the Pena Palace. Lunch was on our own in the seaside resort town of Cascais where my wife and I had an excellent meal at a seafood restaurant. The tour is advertised as being 8 hrs but ours was almost 11 hrs. This was partly due to a light rain which delayed us in Sintra a bit. Keeping the length to 10 hrs or less would be our recommendation as we almost missed our dinner reservations. Also, the van that transported us was small so we were all packed in with no option for social distancing which made us a little nervous.

The day was absolutely brilliant. We were picked up right on time and everything went so smoothly. Dr. André Feldman was our tour guide and what can I say, from the minute you get picked up by this guy you know it’s not going to be any ordinary tour. André was a tour guide like no other, he went above and beyond to show us everything, we did everything at our pace, there was no rushing back for a certain time and the atmosphere was great. He was extremely informative and kept us very much entertained throughout the day. Between his humorous nature which kept us on our toes and had us all laughing constantly, to the sing a longs in the car in which he channeled his inner Frank Sinatra, we were never going to forget him. Sintra and Peña palace were so beautiful and picturesque Cascais was the perfect place to relax for lunch. André specifically planned our visits to each place at certain times to avoid the crowds unlike other tour guides and used his charm to prevent us from queuing for very long. Lots of walking was involved so bring a comfortable pair of shoes. There is a shuttle up to Peña palace that you can avail of which was a delight to myself who was wearing sandals with blistered feet by the end of the day. Overall a brilliant day out, with a great bunch of people and our fabulous tour guide. Highly recommend this tour and hope you are lucky enough to get André.

I am not exaggerating when I say I wish I could give an extra star! The full day tour was organised excellently by the company and I thoroughly enjoyed the 8 hour time with my friends on this tour. Very prompt transportation, extremely polite and friendly interaction, intricately detailed guiding and explanation of locations and tourist attractions were provided to my group. The entire duration was very well planned out, and we got to cover 5 locations in a single day, without feeling rushed at any point. There was ample resting time provided between places and sufficient time for pictures as well. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who asks me regarding a visit to Portugal.
I would like to give a big cheers to Luis Pinto (my guide on the tour) as well. I haven't come across a guide with such astute knowledge on the history of the world. He is very sincere at his work, has a great sense of humor and manages to keep one engaged in his tour throughout. Loved every bit.

This is one unforgettable experience. Our tour began from our hotel with Andre Feldman. Where we went in a mini bus to Sintra. Andre is very knowledgeable, while interpreting his unique sense of humor to keep us all entertained. With every stop being so interesting and lots of beautiful views with plenty of opportunities for memory photographs. Andre dropped us off for a well deserved lunch on our own, where me and my husband enjoyed a meal in a lovely restaurant in Cascais. The tour is being advertised at 8hours but ours was well over the 8 hours. Definitely worth every penny! Yes the mini bus is small, but masks are worn at all times. Andre makes sure you use hand sanitizer before you enter. Thank you so much for assisting us with making the most out of our trip to Sintra. Make memories that will stay with us forever.

I've read that the queues to buy tickets for Pena are an hour long. Since entry fee to the grounds are not included in the ticket price, do we need to purchase entry tickets in advance? If so, how do we know which time slot to purchase them for?

You get to go through most if not all the inside of the Pena castle and tour the grounds and go inside some of the buildings at Quinta de Regaleira.

We are a group of 7 who hope to book this tour in May for the day after our arrival in Lisbon from the US. Several questions:
1) Where is the drop off for Pena Palace? How long and / difficult is the walk to the ramparts? Is there a handicap drop off spot for anyone who might need it?
2) can the guide provide a tour of the palace grounds - or is that entirely on your own?
3) can "skip the line" tickets be purchased for Pena Palace - and any other places that require them?

My husband and I just attended this tour! I'd say in general Europe is not that fantastic for people with mobility challenges. Certainly the way that most people (the tour included) access the palace is up a reasonable hill. I'm not sure if there is a drop-off. I know though the tour company hosts private tours, which is what I would do in this case if you need special accommodation, I'm sure if there's a way they would do it! Even with the group tour though, our guide came with us inside the palace. There really wasn't much of a line, so this is not a big deal! We were even there on a weekend and it was not long at all. Hope that helps!
