The third and final tasting stop is at either a popular mid-sized winery or the regional "mother-house" which showcases the wares of 21 local vineyards, plus traditional bread, cheeses, and other goods. A very enjoyable day as we took this “excursion” from a cruise ship. The wine was very good, but the experience was great. John was an incredible guide. We learned interesting things about wine, politics, Portugal and his life experiences. We would highly recommend this tour

Thank you very much for taking time writing this review! The cruise ship excursions are always a bit more stressful for us (as we need to get back in time before the ship departure), but all went well... ;-) Hope to have you back in Lisbon, but with a bit more time to explore our history and culture. Warmest Regards, Joao (John) Dickmann

First of all, thank you very much for your review! :-) Besides the wine in the region, one thing that is also good when travelling outside of Lisbon, is that you are still able to see "genuine" handcraft. Sometimes we bring travellers to this tile factory, in case they show an interest in history or local culture. It is still very traditionally done, and definitely not "touristy"... ;-) Warmest Regards, Joao Dickmann

My husband and I went on this tour with Rod and it was fantastic. His wine knowledge and passion for Portuguese history was awesome and we were forever entertained with his ‘rodisms!’ A wonderful tour guide and wonderful tour. All three wineries were so diverse too!
