About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- jktrock0 contributionsI do not recommend this workshopFirst, let me start by saying that the staff is great and attentive, waffles came out delicious, incredibly delicious. We even took some home and they still tasted heavenly after a couple of days in the fridge. With that being said, the logistics of the workshop are what left us with a negative feeling about the whole process . Location: the workshop is located not in a best safest neighborhood (this is purely my opinion). My kids and I walked there and at times I did not feel comfortable. This is an ethnic neighborhood and I would have preferred not to walk there alone with young children. Second: it is very hard to find the door to the actual workshop. There is no sign on the building/above the door. Just a small white paper posted on the door with printed announcement that this is a waffle workshop. I had to walk around the block a couple of times looking for the place . Next: I believe there are 4 (or 5 waffle irons). With the amount of people the company books per workshop, they should work on the logistics of using the machines. There were large families up 10 people, with 2-3 bowls full of batter. Each time it takes 3.5-4 minutes to make waffles. These big families will take up machines and won’t leave till they have gone through all their batter. That can be up to 30 minutes wait time for others. Very frustrating. My kids and I had to wait 20 minutes to get to a machine. Perhaps it’ll make sense to take turns, make one set of waffle, step aside and let others use the machine for 1 set, then another family/person etc, make guests rotate. Don’t make them wait for 30 minutes to make 1 waffle. That was very frustrating, especially if you have younger kids who are eager to try waffle. And at some point the staff starts asking you to leave as they have to prepare for the next group and you barely got to a waffle machine after waiting for such a long time. Next: no staff is present while guests are making waffles, so, again, no one can really organize the line and waiting for a machine. At some point I had to ask a family of 10 people to please let us use a machine for my kids. Next: we paid PER person but got 1 (!!!!) bowl per family to make batter. That isn’t really fair. We just came back from a Chocolate workshop before that, where we paid per person and got ingredients to make chocolate PER person. Not this waffle place. I paid about €70 for 3 of us at the waffle place and €200 at the chocolate place. You can clearly see the difference which place catered to guests at a much higher levels. One of the iron machines was broken which we only discovered when we already poured the batter in. Waited 5 minutes into to find out the batter went to waste. No staff was present to check the machines before hand. We had to go look for someone to Let them know our batter was wasted. Staff did provide us with new ingredients to make a new portion of dough after that Last: I guess you can’t make people clean up after themselves. Especially if you paid for a workshop. But again, staff wasn’t present to clean up. But the time my family made one set waffles, there were banana peels everywhere, dirty cutlery, dirty dishes…Very unpleasant Again, waffles came out delicious, but logistics wise and location wise, I would not recommend this place. One of the cases where you get what you pay for. Don’t save on your kids’ memoriesWritten 26 December 2024
- Tricia R0 contributionsMust do for waffle lovers or those with families!Traveling with another family with a tween and older child, this was a fantasize experience for all of us! The environment was family focused but provided a safe place for everyone to learn something new and engage with each other on a different level. The waffles were wonderful as well!! Such a cleaver idea and very well organized!! Must do!!Written 6 November 2024
- Curiosity307946592790 contributionsAmazing waffle workshopThe workshop is amazing. The host is very knowledgeable and approachable. The setting is beautiful and the waffles taste amazing. There is a huge choice in toppings including sauces, fruit and creamWritten 19 June 2024
- CGe0rge0 contributionsFun activity whilst in BrusselsSuch a fun idea. We were in Brussels for the day and with lots of sight seeing and walking we thought this would be the perfect idea in the middle of the day. Jose and John were great hosts and showed us how to make the waffles. We were a group of 3 and had 1 bowl with all of the ingredients. We had to share the waffle makers but we all took turns and added our own toppings, there were lots of variety on offer. I would recommend 👌Written 11 March 2024
- G9986AQlisat0 contributionsOk but wouldn't returnIt was ok, I thought it would be an individual cooking class for the cost but it wasn't you are in your family group so the three of us around one bowl making waffles only 3 irons so had to wait your turn. The staff are lovelyWritten 28 February 2024
- Stay415885947970 contributionsWhat about LIEGE waffles?I would love to learn how to make the LIEGE waffles. Is that offered during another workshop or can you suggest where I could do this?Written 13 January 2024
- Inspiration6292600 contributionsA ruined experienceWe booked for myself and 2 children. My husband has MS and can’t use his hands so was unable to participate but wanted to sit and watch. The owner told him he had to go or pay for a place. She was very rude and told him it was like going to the cinema for free! She wasn’t interested in his disability or being accommodating. It’s rare for someone not to be kind about his disability so it was upsetting. This ruined the experience somewhat. The actual cooking was fun although it did seem a shame that they couldn’t supply enough equipment or recipes for each group as it did mean waiting for others to finish. The actual waffles were nice but I wouldn’t recommend if you have any additional needs!Written 4 January 2024

The presentation before we made our first waffles was entertaining and funny and informative. The photo ops were great! The waffles were delicious and we could make a big batch to takeaway or just enough to top and finish. Highly recommend. 😀Written 6 July 2023

- Californiagirl380 contributionsDelicious fun!We had a great time with our hostess. We had a fun class about the different types of waffles. We got to make our own batter, and then eat and eat and eat! We had so many topping we couldn’t even use them all. There was fun music playing in the background, and it was a party atmosphere with people from around the world. Everyone should do it at least once!Written 8 March 2023

- William M0 contributionsGreat funFantastic couple of hours learning all about waffles, and then making & eating them! Lovely instructor (Vlada? Apologies if that's not correct) took her time to explain and demonstrate everything to the class and then the fun begins! Mixing all the ingredients, into the waffle iron and then cover them in a great choice of toppings. Delicious! Great fun for all the family. Thoroughly recommended.Written 20 February 2023

Not the best location, feels off the beaten track. But once inside nice room. Host very friendly and knowledgeable, however made a few errors with menu distribution. Waffles very nice, better than we paid for in certain branded outlets, good value with lots of choice of toppings and all you can eat!

Well organized, the entire course was only in English, a simple recipe (only for Brussels waffles because Lièger waffles would take too long) which leads to a good baking result. All you can eat is true but the course time (1.5 hours) allows for a maximum of 2-3 waffles per person. Lots of ingredients for toppings. At the end of the course we were in a hurry because the next course was about to start. It was still a good experience.

Quite self explanatory, the process is very simple so we were given written instructions and the products to prepare the waffles. The instructor was nice and cheerful. Overall it might be a bit too pricy for what you pay considering the ingredients are extremely cheap but I have a cool memory with friends

This was a nice, short, enjoyable activity. Making waffles isn't hard, but it was fun to learn a new recipe and hear the history of waffles. The instructor was very nice and enthusiastic. It's definitely an activity for all ages. The building was a bit warm but otherwise it was great.

This was a lot of fun. I am gluten free and dairy free and they were able to accommodate both of those allergies with their ingredients.
To start the experience, you get a history of the waffle, which was interesting and then you dive into making the waffles. It's more of an experience than a class. They have all the ingredients for you on the table and they hand you the recipe and you make them at your own speed.
You can double your recipe and pretty much make as many waffles as you want. They provide all the toppings you could possibly want or need. You can take home your extra waffles if you don't finish them all.
The email confirmation tells you to come hungry and that is not a joke. We treated this as our early dinner, and we were not hungry later.
Fun experience, great waffles and would recommend this experience.

Nice easy to follow workshop for Brussels style waffles. Location a luirse out if the way and not marked so recommend a cab/Uber unless you’re comfortable walking and navigating the streets. Inside was a very nice setup and great staff.

We booked this as I'd previously done a chocolate workshop. This was really fun and informative. We all got involved and the waffles we made were delicious.
The only downside was a slow start waiting for other people to arrive. The waffle machine set up was also quite squashed for the number of people, and there weren't quite enough utensils for everyone, which was difficult for some of the excited children.
On the whole we had a great fun experience. Thanks!

So this was one of my must do's as the family chef. I have eaten "Belgium" waffles in the States, but I was never really sure I was eating the real thing. Well, as it turns out, I wasn't!!! Belgium waffles user carbonated water (or beer), Vanilla Sugar and Beetroot based Brown sugar. That made all the difference in the world and boy were they good!!! Danni was out instructor for the class and she was very helpful in making sure we followed all the steps in the recipe to ensure a good waffle. Overall a great experience!!! We just wish we could have taken all the extra waffles we couldn't eat home with us (we were taking a plane that afternoon out of the country). Oh well, next time!!!

The instructor just gave us the recipe and the ingredients. Nothing special or at least a tip on how to make good waffles. I can always just do this myself by watching youtube. The reason we attend workshops is to learn something we will not be able to learn outside. This is quite a disappointment though the instructor was very nice and kind.

The workshop was great fun with our 12 & 10 year old boys. Kelly (from Peru) was a brilliant host. I agree that it is a requirement to come hungry! I hit the waffle wall after 2, but we were able to take 8 away with us for later. A great way to start a day in Bruges.
