About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Eleonor M0 contributionsWonderful walking your in amazing Rotterdam! Our walking tour was simply amazing! Our tour guide, Tanya, was very knowledgeable, freely sharing her experiences and wast educational knowledge to make this tour the highlight of our time in Netherlands . To have an architect leading the small group in Rotterdam, the architectural wonder of Europe and the world, is a fantastic idea and now, I believe, is the only way to visit Rotterdam! This is how you want to discover all the famous and hidden architectural details you would miss otherwise. Thank you, Tanya, for our amazing introduction to Rotterdam!Written 23 June 2024
- dale_river0 contributionsA great overview of Rotterdam's diverse architectureWe had a fabulous time with Sylvia and learned a lot on this very interesting walking tour. It was the perfect introduction to Rotterdam at the beginning of our 5-day stay. The 3 hours went by quickly, topped off by a brief but exciting water taxi ride across the harbor. We are both in our 60s and didn't have any issues with walking or resting, since the city is pretty flat and the pace was comfortable. Sylvia was very kind and patient as she shared her inside knowledge of the city.Written 10 May 2024
- lorrir7530 contributionsGreat way to see RotterdamGreat walking tour with Tania. We did this in our first day in Rotterdam and got a great orientation to the city and learned a lot about the city’s culture and history. Highly recommend.Written 7 May 2024
- Richard N0 contributionsA tour to inspire love in for RotterdamLoved this tour, the guide was great and clearly has a love for Rotterdam as well as for architecture. I’m not very knowledgeable about the subject but her passion was clear. I found this to be a great way to learn about the history of the city and am looking forward to coming again with different visitors. We were late due to a train mistake on my part and the guide couldn’t have been more helpful to us catching up and forgiving of my error. Thank you!Written 21 April 2024

- Sector-G0 contributionsHighly recommended! This tour is fascinating whether you are an architect or not thanks to the incredible informative and knowledgeable tour guide who took her time to share her insight into the city’s past, present and future over three wonderful hours. Make sure you don’t miss out on that when in Rotterdam.Written 11 March 2024

- Happiness272453861850 contributionsHighly recommendedThis is a very informative walking tour covering history, culture and architecture in Rotterdam. Our guide Silvia was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. We covered a lot in 2 hours and Silvia gave us some great recommendations of other areas to explore on our own. My friend and I were the only people booked on the tour on a cold morning in January so it felt very exclusive. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rotterdam. It’s a great way to orientate yourself in the city and to understand more about the city’s rich history that only a tour guide could explain.Written 22 January 2024
- Expatriotscot0 contributionsTanya was a trooper!Tanya was there ahead of us at our meeting point in front of Central Station - always a good sign! It was bitterly cold that day -5 degrees so we were the only two on the tour which was great luck. Tanya is from Galicia, Spain, so English is her second language, but we had no difficulty in communicating. Though when Tanya was talking about liberation at the end of World War II she referred to the “Aliens” as being responsible. She meant “Allies” and we had a good laugh about that! Tanya is qualified in architecture and has a specialism in the social aspects of the built environment. This added value to the tour as she explained the layers of Rotterdam in terms of its architecture and demographics. I liked especially her description of Rotterdam as essentially a port with a city attached. And how the latter is now pushing the former further away to sea. We saw most of the well-known buildings in the old and new city, and heard interesting commentary about them. However Tanya didn’t take us to the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen (no matter as we were going there anyway to do their tour, and also to have dinner - see separate reviews). Nor did we pass by the Sonneveld House - again we went separately to see inside - but it would have been good to have had Tanya’s observations on this iconic building and its neighbours. She had already given us extra time and it was freezing! My advice would be to do your research and agree your must-sees at the start of the tour, or preferably beforehand once booked.Written 15 January 2024
- zacharys6520 contributionsA view of contemporary Dutch buildingBecause of scheduling constraints, we couldn't make the Architecture Highlights Walking Tour, which most people prefer. As it happened, though, we got to spend the morning in central Delft, with its 17th century buildings, then take a train 20 minutes and get this wonderful Walk South tour of 21st century Rotterdam, focusing on the new developments near the Wilhelminapier. It felts like traveling 450 years in a day. And it was a pleasure to meet Maria, our guide.Written 12 July 2023
- TrailBlazer7373320 contributionsGlad we did this!Very informative! Our guide was super nice and very knowledgeable. Heard great insights and and stories from this architect!Written 29 June 2023
- ANoNyMoUs1qaz2wsx3ed0 contributionsNot as engaging for someone without a background in architectureThe guide was very knowledgeable but the comments often referred to architects and architectural concepts that I didn't know about.Written 28 June 2023
- dagsmith0 contributionsGreat way to see Rotterdam!Sylvia was a great guide. We got to see all the architectural highlights of Rotterdam in just a few hours. The tour content included stories on architecture, Rotterdam's history, urban development and more. You really got a sense of hose Rotterdam has transformed since WWII - and indeed how it is still changing. I am more of the architecture buff - but my wife enjoyed the tour as much as I did.Written 9 April 2023
- Marc A0 contributionsAwesome tourSylvia was great...had alot of great local info on the rebuilding of the city postwar. Great city and wonderful lore. Great to have a practicing architect explain a transformation from scratch for a city.Written 9 April 2023
