A barre workout is inspired by the movements of ballet, yoga and pilates, where you use the barre to keep your balance. During the workout, fast and fluid movements are interspersed with isometric strength training - keeping your body still and tensing specific muscle groups. After each series of strength exercises you perform stretches to ensure that the muscles are renewed over and over again. This way you create a strong, fit, elegant and flexible body. The exercises can be quite tough and become extra heavy by using dumbbells or a resistance band. You will also sometimes be on the mat for core exercises.
