Snow and cold but town was warm and friendly
Jay was so fun. He gave us many facts about the Netherlands on our way which made the drive go quickly. We stopped at a family farm and were able to sample a few of their fruits. So good. The town of Giethoorn was so cute. Even though it was cold and started to snow we had a great time exploring the peaceful town.

      Simply out of a storybook!
The trip was fun, I went there in December so it was pretty cold and a little foggy when we were on the boat ride. Nonetheless the place was beautiful and peaceful! We were given time to walk about to explore and get our lunch. There were a few cafes and stores around with drinks and food options. The whole place felt like it was out of a storybook! On the way to Giethoorn, our guide shared so many interesting fun facts about the Netherlands and kept us all engaged! We also made a stop at a farm shed kinda of place where we got to have a toilet break as well as shop the fresh produce. Some of us bought fruits and I myself got jam and stroop :) all were delicious and overall a very vibrant and insightful trip!

      A great day!!
This was seamless from pickup to the drive and more. We got in the van which was nice and warm and were given waters, we were given an interesting overview of the city as we drove into giethoorn. We even impromptu stopped at a local produce market and got a sample of fruits, cheeses and meats- 10/10!! It was really windy and rainy the day we went and Fernando, our driver went ABOVE & Beyond to always make sure we were warm and even dropped us back off at our hotel after because it was hailing. Those things done go unnoticed. We loved our experience and would recommend to a friend!

      Long fun day.
I unfortunately can't recall the name of our tour guide but he was excellent. He brought us all over Rotterdam. Walked us around Delft where he explained historic facts and brought us to important sites. Drove us to the Hague too. He picked us up early in the morning at our hotel and we spent the entire day touring these three areas. He even brought us to a beach town on the way home. I liked Delft the best and wish we spent more time there than in Rotterdam. If you are interested in seeing other areas of the Netherlands and you are staying in Amsterdam take this trip. We happened to be traveling with someone who had walking difficulties and that is why we booked a private tour. I think that if you are physically fit you can save money by doing a group tour.

      Beautiful village, lovely day trip
It was a quiet, quaint charming little town/village. It was a beautiful, warm and sunny day which made the trip even more enjoyable. We took some lovely pictures. Took a boat cruise and then strolled around. Some cute shops for souvenir shopping. Little restaurants for lunch. A gray day trip all around.

      Must see distentation
The place is amazing. It is a must see place. The driver was excellent but the tour guide was speaking through the mic the whole way to Giethroon that was a bit annoying. I suggest you guys do the same when i took the trip to the windmills as there was an audio with different languages so it is up on you want to listen or just relax on the way.

      Worth a visit
A beautiful, small town with lots to see. It's a sample of a different way of life. Plenty of cute gift shops and restaurants to enjoy a meal/coffee/drink. Well worth a visit when in Holland.

lovely summer day out in a village
Beautiful village, each house a marvel. Visit the old church, take a boat cruise, maneuver one yourself through narrow canals. Its a delightful experience.

      Dispicable customer services
I was looking forward to my upcoming European trip with great excitement and anticipation. First of all, I am a 71 year young grandmother of 5. Anyway, My trip begins September 19th from USA to London then Amsterdam and then on to Switzerland. YAY!!! I booked 4 tours in a relatively short period of time and I made a huge mistake on this one. I booked this tour on August 17th for a September 25th tour. but accidently scheduled August 19th (today is August 19th). I discovered my mistake yesterday and contacted Dutchtrips immediately and pled my case. I received a very nice reply from Cindy @ Dutchtrips informing me that the error was corrected and "I will see you on board". Today I received another email from Dutchtrips (unsigned) and informed me that I must pay for the missed trip because I didn't give a 24 hour cancellation notice. I replied with a plea for mercy and was told the decision has been made. I truly understand the purpose of the 24 hr cancellation notice but I feel like its being used punitively since the tour is over a month away. To add insult to injury "When did you go" is a required field to submit this review I will be reaching out to Viator next

Read the description and the other reviews before booking. This is a way to spend a day that is very different from Amsterdam City. However, it’s a large group and involves a lot of driving and hanging around for 2 or 3 discrete experiences ( canal tour, clog making and cheese curds). That being said, Ibrahim was a rock star. He went out of his way to be sure everybody got to do everything. When the bus was hot (it was a hot day and the bus has been parked out in the sun) he got everybody extra water. Although the drive was long, Ibrahim’s commentary and conversation made the time pass quickly. You do also drive across the Afsluitdijk twice and get to experience it’s power. When issues arose with the itinerary, Ibrahim made a huge effort to smooth things over. Howver, I do think this would have been a 3 state experience with another guide.

We had a fantastic trip with our tour guide Ibrahim. I was so glad we were able to join this trip so last minute (we booked through another group that canceled 2 days before our tour) and contact was not only super fast with this group but beyond easy to understand. We knew the pick up point, time, trip start to finish which was great. Ibrahim was a pleasure, absolutely phenomenal tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable on everything and gave us a tour and discussion on anything and everything we passed or had questions on. You can tell he absolutely is a people person, he just radiates positivity and energy. He would speak to all of us and he was Polyglot too! He knew so many languages fluently and accommodated multiple people on the tour who spoke multiple languages. He drove us perfectly too, I was so grateful for that in a city like Amsterdam where the driving can be a bit scary it felt like a professional driver taking us on our adventures.

Now for the trip and travel review.
Zaanse Schans was a cute old timey town. Ibrahim walked us through the history of the area, what windmills were used for what, how townspeople transported and stored goods and much much more! The man who explained the cheese and demo'd how cheese was made was also so much fun. He was eager to answer any and all questions after the demo and we kept him awhile. Then there was a sampling inside the shop to try over 20+ varieties of cheeses for free. We also got a clog making demo from another shop that was also very fast and interesting to watch. Next, Giethoorn was super cute. Lovely little town and you can rent boats, scooters, bikes, etc after your 1 hour boat tour through the town or simply walk around. There is a guide on the boat who will talk about the town, its name, its work, etc but Ibrahim is also there supplying us with more info.

If youre in Amsterdam, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Peak tourist season like spring-summer could be wild due to everything blooming etc but it was still highly enjoyable to do offseason with less people. Thank you so much for everything Ibrahim, you rock and made this an unforgettable experience!

Our guide was extremely nice and knowledgeable, he made sure everybody was in the bus after every stop. We went to a beautiful town with windmills, a cheese factory which gave us a demonstration and tasting and also a wooden shoe factory with a demonstration as well. After that we went to giethoorn and took 1 hour boat ride through the beautiful canals and houses. We had time after to walk around, do shopping and have lunch. Absolutely recommend if you are in Amsterdam!!!

This whole trip is exceptional especially when it’s with a small sized group.

Said is so nice communicating about the pick up time and location the day before the trip. I didn’t expect I can be picked up right from the hotel I stay, which is way more convenient.

On the day of trip, the guide Ibrahim did a fantastic job and he makes sure everyone enjoy the day trip. He explains a lot of the history and many interesting stories and fun fact about the country and places on the way. Not only he is very knowledgeable about the places but also he is a very good photographer giving you many ideas of posing.

Since we are a small group of six, there is ample time to explore around the places and villages without much hassles of waiting.
Overall this is a must do trip in Amsterdam and you wont regret it visiting those stunning pretty places, with also cheese to enjoy in cheese factory plus the wooden shoes making store.

My husband and I had a great time exploring Zaanse Schans and Giethoorn! The bus ride was comfortable and our tour guide Fernando was nice and knowledgeable. It was a good mix of exploring together as a group and going off on your own. I recommend getting an IAmsterdam City card because we were able to get in free to go inside the windmills at Zaanse Schans.

This trip was great and just as promised. The villages were beautiful and I enjoyed the inclusion of demonstrations from the clog and cheese makers. The tour guide was very personable and entertaining. I would recommend for those that have a full day to dedicate to seeing beautiful Zaanse Schans and Giethoorn, as well as the scenery along the way.

We had this tour in July 2023 and it was fabulous. The tour guide Ibrahim was very knowledgeable and kept everyone informed and entertained from the moment the bus left Amsterdam city centre in the early morning.
This tour was our best day out in Amsterdam and we would highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed this tour. While at Zane Schans, we visited a cheese factory, saw a clog making demonstration and was able to visit the inside of a working windmill (extra charge). While at Giethoorn we had a canal cruise of this mostly car free town. Free time in both spots was good and not too long. The whole day is long, however, well worth it to cover both sites in one trip.

Our tour guide, Ibrahim, was excellent.
He told us many interesting facts during the whole trip.
    The driver was also excellent.
The seating space in the car was a bit cramped but manageable given that the distance was not too far.

We were going to go to Zaanse Schans anyway, but decided to take this tour instead, as Giethoorn looks so lovely in photos.
When we went, it was pouring rain, but it didn't stop it being a great day.
Ibriham was a fun host- and thanks for sharing some beignet with us. :) He was open to questions at any time, and told us a lot about where we were and where we were going to.
Giethoorn (goat horn!) is beautiful even in the rain. The 1 hour tour of the lake and canals is lovely, and even though it was a damp time, we all had the windows opened up, which added to the peaceful feeling. Then, wandering around was nice too.
We were late getting to Zaanse Schans, but Ibriham made sure we got to see the clog making, and the cheese presentation before we got to wander around in the rain. (That WASN'T his fault!) Such a sight to see all the windmills.
Highly recommending taking this tour- it's convenient instead of organising your own trip, and I love seeing countryside of other countries.
