Got the 13:45 cruise on 7th March, excellent captain who was very informative and humorous. Excellent way to spend an hour in Amsterdam, especially as you can get drinks and snacks from the departure lounge to take on board.

Avoid doing a boat trip with Lovers. Utterly dull audio, we had to go backwards as half the seats face that way, the boat ceiling was wooden so we couldn’t see and the route was just odd with multiple u turns and it didn’t go to all the stops we expected either. Smelly, noisy engines. We were really looking forward to the boat tour but it was rubbish! Don’t waste your time or money.

Very bad I will not ever advise anyone to book through trip advisor again i book the tickets but the company didn’t accept it !!!! And they didn’t give me back the money !!!

The tour we'd purchased tickets for was to leave at 4:30, but had already pulled well away from the dock by 4:28 when we arrived. yes, we cut it close BUT it should not leave early when people have tickets purchased. Fortunately, our hotel (who had booked the tickets for us) refunded them. But, according to the ticket office rep and the other boat drivers at the dock, this particular captain regularly leaves early for his tours, leaving ticketed passengers behind. I would NOT recommend booking with this tour, or at least not doing so in advance. We gave that same feedback to our hotel concierge as well.

Our plane was delayed and we missed the cruise. We were very disappointed and really hope that somehow we will be able to reschedule the cruise.

Me and my boyfriend did the 1 hour evening cruise at 6pm and it was perfect! As it was freeeezing outside we were grateful that the boat was nice and warm with comfy seats but still had an amazing view of the canals. We were given headphones to plug in for an audio guide, which was really informative and made the trip interactive. The captain was funny, friendly and great at letting us know when photo opportunities were coming up! I learnt so much history about the canals and city and also some top tips like where and how to get a free boat over to the north. Overall, I’m really glad that we chose to go with lovers cruises, thank you!

Very clean and pleasant. Engaging polite staff and a nice long ride out with lots to see. I would have been disappointed that the windows were full of smears so couldn’t film outside which I felt was the main point. However I was allowed to enter the back deck of the boat and sit outside alone to film the wonders of the canal so really enjoyed it on that basis. I did ask if we could open windows but were advised not so would consider it a floating snack as opposed to a sight seeing tour. The boat has a lot of internal lights so despite being advised what we weee passing this couldn’t be seen

We had a fantastic time, the food was excellent and also hot when served. The staff were very friendly. The boat was warm, which was lovely as we were cruising on a very cold January evening. We would highly recommended this company.

Canal cruise was fun, great way to see Amsterdam from a different prespective, also no chance of being ran over by a cyclist !!!! Boat was busy, so get there early to get a good window seat, was cold when we went, so it had a roof, I did see some ofther boats with open tops, which are probably better for summer. I went to this as I had the Iamsterdam card which gave free access, so worth checking out the Iamsterdam card, as I saved allot of money by using the card and tried a few things I would not have paid for, like this one, which turned out to be a highlight of my trip.

A bit of a spur of the moment decision to do the cruise as the price was reasonable. However, and given it was winter and the weather had been wet the view from the boat was not 100% clear due to water on the windows. The audio also seemed to loop a couple of tiles and was repetitive in some places. Was interesting but not sure if I can recommend this cruise or not. Maybe just a bad day

A really nice what to see the city and learn the history too, mine was an evening tour. Highly recommended would be nice to attend in the day too.

WARNING SCAM!!!! I would give 0 stars if I could. I bought tickets for the Light Tour as a birthday gift for my wife. On-site, everything was very chaotic. We asked 4 team members about our boat and were sent to Pier 2, then to Pier 1, back to Pier 2, and finally boarded the wrong boat at Pier 1. No one checked our tickets to ensure we were in the right place. During the ride, we realized this was not the tour we had paid significantly MORE for. In the end, we spent an hour on a city tour in the dark where we could barely see anything—let alone any light installations. When we addressed the mistake, we were told to handle the refund ourselves and contact the online ticket vendor. In short, Lovers Cruises didn’t take responsibility for the issue, leaving us to solve the problem on our own. That’s what they call service? No help, no understanding. NEVER AGAIN! In the end, we saw nothing, got no money back, and were left with nothing but frustration. Save your money for something worthwhile in Amsterdam—aside from Lovers Cruises, the city is fantastic. I hope my review spares other guests the same misery.

We took the light show cruise at night on a drizzly day thinking it was a good use of time - see the sights while comfortably sitting down and staying dry. It was far from it. All the windows were fogging up and there were leaks inside the boat. the captain was not helpful and did not say much. Staff on the docks either did not care or were rude, and they did not even check our tickets. I will not recommend this. There are better cruises in Amsterdam

The light show was okay. Nothing great and was unable to see a lot due to shape of the boats. However this is not why my review is 2/5 stars. Firstly, there are too many people booked onto each session and you are not on the boat anywhere near the time you booked for, clear sign of a company who cares more about money than their customers. If you have X boats with X spaces that goes out at for a certain time that’s the amount of tickets you sell, not more and leave your customers queuing for over 45mins, by that point after dealing with other rude people pushing in the lines, barging their way through because there were no staff monitoring people cutting in line. Don’t book unless you have several hours for the canal tour and wrap up warm ready for the queue. As the owner likes to ask what they can do to improve - ONLY ALLOW PEOPLE TO BOOK FOR THE AMOUNT OF SEATS YOU HAVE AND DONT LEAVE THEM WAITING FOR OVER 45mins.

Amsterdam light show. Shambles! Pre booked tickets for 8.15pm. Arrived 15 minutes early and had to wait for over an hour before we got onto a boat. Boat was very overcrowded and very difficult to see the lights. The tour is expected to take 75 minutes, yet we were told half way through the cruise that it was going to take over 2 hours. The boat pulled in and let people get off after one hour, we then had to make our own way back to the centre. Not enough staff to deal with the number of people. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this company for a tour.
