- Lorraine H0 contributionsNot worth the moneyWe boarded the boat only to realize that no headphones were provided. The 75-minute canal cruise was pleasant but started to feel dull towards the end. There was no tour guide, just a driver, making it feel like poor value for money. At the end, we learned that the headphones had been used by previous passengers—disgusting! In hindsight, we were glad we didn’t get them. Wish we had chosen a different provider, and unfortunately, we wouldn’t recommend this one.Written 1 March 2025
- greigc20150 contributionsPoor customer service & feel scammed would not honour voucher that I booked with TripadvisorLucky it was off season. When we arrived at the company to exchange our voucher for the cruise and Heineken tour they advised our ticket is not valid they said they have been contacting Tripadvisor for months to advise them this tour option is not valid. Even though I got confirmation and bar code for this company. Was only in Amsterdam for day, they advised they only offer this option for snackpack service and that I need to contact Tripadvisor to get a refund. If I wanted to travel would have to pay them again with no discount offered. I had also book the Heineken experience with them asked them if my Heineken tour then booked and confirmed they advised no and would have to pay that separate and see if tickets were available. With not much else I could do as limited time had to fork out more money for this experience. I kept saying you are the company on the voucher with a booking confirmation and bar code received. I feel this could be handled better but I paid the money only 2 other people on the canel cruise which was information and enjoyed but then no snackbox given? A complete scam so do not book this online. I had no time to go back and complain as I had then see if could get on the Heineken tour next door which lucky was low season but cost more money than what I paid for. The good note was that I rang Tripadvisor straight away they could not believe what I was saying so they rang the company to confirm would not honour the voucher that had a confirmation on. I got my money credit back but left horrible experience with this companyWritten 26 February 2025
- TravelMother20150 contributionsInformative CruiseThis was a nice cruise to take to learn about the history of Amsterdam. It was very informative but not overly factual to the point of boredom. We went in the winter and the boat is closed in and warm so we were not cold. It’s not a live guide, it’s a pre recorded audio. If you want a quick history about Amsterdam and a way to see the north and south of the beautiful city; this tour is it. I also liked that it was in the daytime so you could really see the city!Written 17 February 2025
- shreeya110 contributionsTour ok but audio didn’t workGood route through the centre and around Amsterdam but we were given headsets for the tour and they didn’t work properly, the audio kept jumping.Written 3 February 2025
- Wanderer196680184680 contributionsGood timeSuch a good time! Staff were lovely and tour is very fun and interactive. We went as a couple and had a great time, lots of activities to do within the tour, definitely worth the money.Written 26 January 2025
- Seannn110 contributionsTourist Trap - AVOIDTourist trap - avoid. For like 30 euros you get a tour around and get to go to the top of the building at the end. You get 3 free drinks however the drinks are in glasses about 250ml, so tiny. It’s a bit boring. Couldn’t wait for it to end. Maybe experience it if you’re there, but my advice is keep your money and spend it in a pub!Written 19 January 2025
- NeilB7610 contributionsRubbish companyAppalling. No rep to meet us at meeting point so couldn’t exchange voucher for ticket to visit the museum. I suspect that they offer the trip even if they can’t provide museum tickets. Avoid this package.Written 4 January 2025
- stephanietL2576RV0 contributionsMissed cruise due to weather.I rated it a 3 because booking was easy, but can't speak about the actual cruise. We were excited to go on this cruise, but the weather was terrible ...freezing cold rain. We got an email thanking us for going on the cruise even though we did not. The website told us that we would be contacted if the weather was bad and the cruise cancelled, but we couldn't cancel within a 24 hour period and didn't hear from them. We are hoping to get our money back and will re-evaluate that experience.Written 4 January 2025
- HenrysTake0 contributionsAmsterdam Light Festival Cruise! When visiting Amsterdam I’m not sure how you could avoid traversing at least some of their 165 canals, but why would you want to? We set out to experience as many as possible, but with nearly 50 miles of them to explore, a plan was surely warranted. Fortunately we just happened to be visiting during the 13th Annual Amsterdam Light Festival and were able to enjoy a cruise along a multitude of canals. As we passed beneath an unnumbered collection of the city’s 1,281 bridges, we eagerly awaited what form of lighted artwork might be awaiting us on the other side. This year’s event spans November 28th-January 19th and celebrates Amsterdam’s 750th birthday. 🎂 The majority of the seating is enclosed, but the best views and pictures/videos can be captured from outside at the back of the boat. Most of our fellow travelers were dissuaded by the cold on the evening of our tour, so great vantage points were readily available. Audio tours in multiple languages are provided, there is a restroom on board, small snacks can be purchased prior to boarding, and the staff is willing to assist those who are unable to descend/ascend the boat’s steep staircase. And that’s…Henry’s Take. #amsterdamcanalsWritten 14 December 2024

- BADyk57000 contributionsExcellent optionThere are so many canal cruise options but this is the one you want! The staff were friendly and prompt with our departure, the boat was spacious and comfortable and the recorded tour headsets easy to use with so much information along the way. Because this tour is a little longer you don’t see the same route twice and get off the beaten path a bit which was great! We had a few sprinkles on the day we booked our cruise, but the glass top roof kept us dry while the side windows opened for lots of fresh air still. Would definitely recommend going with this tour!Written 5 December 2024
- Caitlin Kay G0 contributionsGood way to see the cityWas a very good talk, and the audio guide was informative and had lots of languages to choose from. Our only issue with this tour was that it would have been helpful if one of the crew members had pointed out which buildings they were talking about on the tour as a couple of times we couldn’t see the buildings they were talking about, and also we had to be looking for them. Otherwise, we thought the crew members were great and the boat itself was very clean.Written 24 November 2024
- veritym8970 contributionsAvoid this company - misleadingBeware !! This company does not provide customers with what is advertised on their web site. We purchased the snack box as an extra and was told only a soft drink was included when we collected it before the cruise. Yet, their board outside and on the web site states it includes a beer. I had to pursue this point to get the beer. We also paid extra for the cheese & wine package which clearly states ( on their web site ) cheese, crackers and 2 cans of wine. What I got was cheese, nuts and one can of wine. I queried this with staff who were very rude saying the offer had been “changed” . I explained that I couldn’t put cheese on nuts to eat and was expecting crackers!! I asked for what I had been advertised on the web site when I booked the cruise and what I had paid for. After our cruise I was called off the canal boat to “ prove “ what I had seen on the website, which I did. How embarrassing to be asked infront of everyone what you should have got, what I’d ordered and had paid for. I was then told the website was wrong !!! Ridiculous and awful customer service. The rude woman even remarked that she had given me an extra can of wine - NO!!!!! I had paid for two cans as advertised. Feel really ripped off by this company who are obviously cheating customers out of what they should be getting as extras. No apology was made and this ruined our evening. Even the canal boat driver was rude and constantly asking for tips - avoid this company as many more better ones around.Written 3 November 2024

Relaxing and informative, this 75 minute tour is the perfect way to rest your feet. Costs vary depending on whether you choose a covered or open boat and day and night tour. Our hotel offered a coupon for a 5% discount at this company which sealed our choice.

Must do museum when in Amsterdam, very good.
Boat trip through canals was better than expected, captain was good, and fun watching him drive through all canals. The audio guide was a tad ridiculous, the banter between the couple doing it at least made us laugh though! Nice way to see the city, besides walking.

A relaxing time seeing the city from the water. The recorded commentary was informative but occasionally not clear as to where everyone should be looking, and as this is not Las Vegas why the ghastly recorded commentator with an American accent pretending to be a local? Her attempts at humour were awful. For all that it was an enjoyable journey but would take ear plugs if we did again!
The Rijksmuseum is a must and exceptional, and a definite thing to do and convenient to the boat drop off mooring.

I found the first 5 minutes of the Canal cruise fine but after that it was BORING. I don't know what I expected, after all it was a canal cruise.
The guide was helpful but the ear plugs for the audio were new but kept popping out of my ear. And only one ear piece worked so you had to listen really hard to the audio guide.
The highlight here was the Rijksmuseum.
Would I go on another canal cruise, probably not.

I agree with the other reviewers who said that the commentary lacks information and is poorly delivered. We learned very little about the history of Amsterdam and the canals. We booked this well in advance of our trip because we expected it would be hard to get same-day booking during the summer. Not the case. There are many alternatives and most appeared to welcome walk-ons. I would wait till you arrive and then make a choice. Lots of options at the docks next to Ann Frank House. Hop-on/hop-off is also available...good way to get around the city.

Tour guide narrated the canal cruise. It was a beautiful day & we learn a lot about the city and then we could walk around afterwards and knew where to go.

This was a nice way to get around Amsterdam, for tired feet. When you just can't take walking anymore, jump on the cruise. It was a nice hour long cruise, and very laid back. We had a nice skipper; who made great commendations throughout our cruise. It was so calming, that i got a little sleepy; because all the canals started to look the same, after a while. All in all, it was a nice little cruise.

As you cruise the canals of Amsterdam a recording tells you what you’re seeing, or at least it tries to in between lots of static and the lamest cringe-worthy jokes. It was hard trying to figure out exactly what house or building the recording was referring to, and one couldn’t ask as there was no guide. It really takes away from the experience. Also, one’s view is obstructed by the broad window frames of the boat. We looked like ducks bobbing our heads up and down trying to see past the frames. This was a let down. Next time I’d choose a cruise with an actual person as a guide. If you want to just relax and take a break from the tourist crowds, take this one, but if you honestly want to learn about Amsterdam, this is not the best choice.

Started of with the canal cruise, apparently its one of those large glass top blue boats, there isn't any food or drinks so you must come prepared, me and a friend had to sit through the entire thing without any because we didn't know. The tour itself is nice and you have this pre recorded tour audio. Most of the participants were old people so that was kind of boring. The museum entrance is self explanatory , just tickets to enter the museum, prepare to spend a few hours at least inside as it it very big.

The canal cruise was lovely. We had individual audio commentary in English and the boat Captain also added his own information. The Rijksmuseum was huge and we ran out of time to see all the art. Cafe expensive if wanting to eat at the museum. Would recommend both the canal cruise and museum.

The canal tour is approximately 1 1/4 hours. You can do the museum at your own pace as this is not a guided tour. However I would allow a half day to really see all the exhibits if not longer.
