- 24geralde00Touring Windmills, Cheese Making, Wooden ShoesWe had such a great time with Ingrid touring windmills, learning how cheese was made, and learning about how wooden shoes were made. We were so lucky on the day we were there that there was wind, and the windmills were actually working! So many great photo ops! Ingrid was great at taking pictures of us and was so knowledgeable about the area. She was as awesome as the quaint village she lives in!
- robertamK759QM00Windmill wonders, tulips and a delightful lunch! One of the best tours i have been on! Met our guide/driver and headed off to the Keukenhof gardens. There were 8 of us in the van. We had about 2 hours to wander and enjoy. We were then picked up and taken for the best lunch we could imagine included on a tour( choice of beverages and food!). After a leisurely lunch, a change of drivers and off to Zaanse Schans, the working windmill village. An excellent tour, in spite of the rain, which included the interior of the mills. Back to central Amsterdam to be dropped off after a great day!
- mucon1900Great cultural and scenic trip!Started in the AM at the gardens, the drive was comfortable, tour van was 8 people so not too crowded!.. our guide was super friendly. The gardens were beautiful even in the second week of May the tulips were still healthy and full bloom. Two hours was more than enough to walk around and appreciate the tulips. Lunch was good, better than most tours I’ve been on. The restaurant was down the road from the gardens, service was quick and friendly. It was a fixed menu but the food was a good amount and delicious. The small Dutch town was a big tourist attraction so very busy. However our guide made sure we got to see the demonstrations of cheese and clog making and push through crowds to make sure we got to see as much of the town as possible. He was very informative and accommodating! Great tour overall 10/10.
- SilverWingFlight2300FantasticAn amazing experience from start to finish. Lovely guides, a great meal, safe transport and a beautiful day out
- F2859YLsandrab00A perfect day in the Netherlands! It was so exciting to see the windmills and learn about their purpose and how they work. And, of course, the tulips were absolutely gorgeous. The entire tour was made so perfect because of our tour guide. Ester was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Also since she had actually grown up in a windmill, she provided insight that we could not have gotten from anyone else. A perfect day!
- kimaY4638LE00Defiantly want to do thisKen and Dave were both awesome drivers and very knowledgeable we had a great group that we toured with. Lunch was wonderful the gardens were beyond our expectations and the tour through the windmills with Dave, his knowledge and connections was a true treat!! Highly recommend this tour small group is a plus
- Tourist60505000FlowersThis was a great tour. Did not feel rushed and had a great lunch. The little town with the windmills was really nice also!
- PETRUS S00Well organisedAbsolute fantastic organised small group tour with a great lunch break. Caroline was a great guide at the windmills!
- ChroniclesofJemma00Worth itI highly recommend visiting the gardens at least once in your life. Block out an afternoon to give yourself enough time to visit the whole garden. You will reach your 10000 steps as the garden is huge.
- J8469KXca00Solid tourWish I remembered the name of our tour guide for the Windmills portion, she was wonderful. Good tour, enjoyed seeing how to make the wooden clogs and history, the village, and then plenty of time at the Keukenhof's Tulips. Be sure to check time of year to take advantage of tulip blooming season. We were there in May of 2022.
- keith h00Half day tour to Zaans SchanVery enjoyable half day tour with Ray. Friendly, knowledgeable local guide. Booking and pick up was easy, Zaans is worth a visit in a small group with more of a personal approach. There is enough time to explore and experience a little of the beautiful countryside/culture before returning to Amsterdam. Worthwhile and good value.
- 859TK00Great option for an early arrivalKnowing my hotel room would not be ready in the AM, this was the perfect option. It was a private tour with a UK guide. The private tour meant I didn’t have to worry about our personal items being left in the van. The meet up point was easy to find, quick drive out to Zaanse Schans where we spent around 3 hours wandering the small town. We saw the windmills and got to climb up to the top, we watched how wooden shoes are made, watched a cheese making demonstration with lots of samples to try and bit of shopping. This was a great tour to start off our trip. Plus, it kept us going after our overnight flight. Our driver dropped us off at our hotel around 1. Highly recommend this option for an early morning arrival.
- Mary C00Private tour of Giethoorn and Enclosing DikeThis was a great tour. He was prompt picking us up. It was nice driving to Giethoorn as we learned a lot about the Netherlands. Our guide got us there in the early morning so we would miss the crowds. The town is lovely and the boat ride through the canals was a lot of fun. We had lunch nearby and the dutch pancakes were delicious. We would recommend this company.
- MichaelChumley00Disappointed in cancellation by Tour CompanyVery disappointing. The tour was booked several months in advance but two days before our scheduled tour it was cancelled. This did not give us time to book anything else decent. Hey extremely disappointing they waited till 2 days prior to cancel.
- Ron W00worth your timegood tour, vibrant colors, prompt and attentive staff. Meal was good as well. The stop at the windmills was mostly a sales tour of shops.

The day was perfect as well as the trip. A great balance of information and time to shop. The history, demonstrations and the perfect pacing made time fly. Our guide (forgot her name, sorry) is a teacher so she knew how to keep our interest at peak. Our family loved spending the morning on this tour.

One of the best tours I have been on in years. Excellent guide and driver. The clog making exhibit was excellent and the perfect timeframe. The cheesemaking staff provided an interesting review with thoughtful information. Cannot say enough about the tour of the windmill as I was absolutely mesmerized.

This tour was absolutely wonderful! It's the perfect length of time, and our tour guide, Renata, was a delight. I loved every stop: the cheese shop, the wooden shoe factory, the chocolate shop, the windmills. Everything was so idyllic and informative.

Enjoyed seeing and hearing about the Windmills. Our guide was very knowledgeable and cordial. The day was cold and windy and our return transportation did not show up. We found later that it went into the repair shop but the driver never notified our guide, so he called for two smaller vans to pick up the group. Then the vans dropped us three blocks from our destination.

One of our favorite tours! Our guide was knowledgeable about the area, we had demonstrations about cheese making and wooden shoes and toured the inside of a working windmill. Don't forget your your Camera...some of the best photos I took on our entire trip. This tour is a must if you have the time to experience the area outside of the city.

The guide was excellent. She had grown up in the area and was able to give both historical snd social aspects of the location.
The place was spectacular with the windmills, canals. The cheese and clod making demonstrations were educational and the shops seemed fair priced.

We did this same tour in 2019 and it was better...and a lot less expensive. We went in the back entry so we had to walk a little further than normal in the misting rain. Only one windmill was working this day. This was a full group of 8 people, all Americans. The tour originated from a new location around the corner of the heavily built up region (Wow) from our last visit. The tour guide was OK and offered any assistance and/or suggestions at each stop as we also stopped at a cheese/clogmaker and Monnickendam Village (disappointingly the quaint cafe we had found last visit was closed as a victim of Covid) and a drive through Broek in Waterland. Something, in general was missing on this tour and I don't know if it was the people we were with, the guide, the location but last time it was ful lof wonder and a great day out. This time it was just kind of blah and uninspring as we tried to relive one of our favorite moments of our last trip to Europe. It didn't start great to begin with as our taxi driver would not take a credit card (I think he just wanted cash and lied about his wi-fi) and laughed at us trying to scramble together Euros, of which, we had little as we were using credit mostly. I guess every tour is different and this was definitely different though I suggest you take it and see for yourself since it is much better than taking the big bus tour.

This tour was awesome! The tour group size was perfect. The tour guide, David, and the additional driver, Kenny, were both great!
David was very informative. We enjoyed listening to the stories and history. David let the group have the right amount of time to walk around the area and take pictures.
Kenny was also informative pointing out things of interest as we drove to the windmills.
We had a wonderful time! Totally enjoyed the tour!

Excellent half day tour with Daniel. There were only 5 in our van and we had perfect weather. The windmills were fascinating to see in operation and the cheese and clog demonstrations were interesting as well. It was a short drive from Amsterdam and worth the trip. We compared it to Mystic Seaport in the manner it depicts a small (Dutch) town's livlihood in the 17 and 1800s.

I want to come with my 2 children (aged 11 & 14). How do I book that? The site asks only about the number of adults...

Hi - a friend (in USA) has recommended this tour to us (pre-COVID). My husband and I are coming into Amsterdam on Friday, 27/08/21 and would like to take the tour on 28/08.21 before we board our AMA Waterways Rhine River cruise. We can drop our bags at the ship at 9 AM, and are wondering if the tour can pick us up at the ships pier and drop us back at the same location (before 3PM)? Is that all a possibility?
Thank you. J. Wedding-Scott
Hi, I understand that this tour lasts for 3 hours. But I can't seem to find information about the starting time of this tour. Are there multiple starting time?
Tour began at 10 am in front of a hotel Barbizon by a canal. Small bus/vans pick you up at the bus stop in front. About 15 mins. travel into the countryside to the windmills, river and small village. Cheese, wooden shoes and several other items specifically Dutch handmade on site while you are on tour. 3 hours includes tour inside a working grist grinding windmill. Not mobility difficulty friendly. Cobblestones and a lot of walking. Bikes travel thru the village at a high rate of speed. Dangerous for mobility impaired visitors. But it is the home of or a public thruway on the way to locals homes. We loved it despite the difficulties.
We have 10 people in our group and we will have our carry on luggage with us... we arrive at 8 am with an Eight hr layover... what time do the tours leave and how will we get to the departure location?? And we wo like to see a bit of the city too... are there any accommodations for that.. i tried to see availability for 10 and only included 9?? Our Date is Sept 25, 2019

Don’t think this tour could accommodate carry-on luggage to take along. They use a van that seats about 8 passengers and a taxi to seat additional people so the group size is about 14-15.
Do you offer anything that includes these stops along with a bit if the City too??

Hi. My mum wants to do this trip but has mobility issues (she cant walk long distances) is it possible to use a wheel chair for the walking parts of the trip? Anything else we should know considering this?

Not good idea to take this tour- tour starts by Central Station, in cars, or mini vans. I would 1- take the train out there, 2- rent a private car- 3- rent your own car. she can wheel through all of the village, and see the wooden shoe demo. She can not go up into the windmills.

How long is this tour? It’s listed as 3 hours but a review says 5 hours.

It was about 3 and 1/2 hours- Our guide only had 8 people. So we really went slow. Had time to shop in each little shop. Well worth the tour. Very charming area, full of windmills
