About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- F619IXkhalidk0 contributionsA Stunning Day Trip! The Mt. Pilatus and Lucerne day trip from Zurich was absolutely fantastic! The views from the top of Mt. Pilatus were breathtaking, and the lake cruise was a peaceful and scenic experience. Lucerne itself is a charming city, perfect for a stroll. The whole trip was well-organized, and it was a great way to explore the beauty of Switzerland in a day. Highly recommend it!Written 17 February 2025
- tcG6280FN0 contributionsHighly recommendedThe trip was great and the tour operators were absolutely lovely. The reason for 4 stars is that we get given a ticket to get on the train that takes you to the top. Be careful to keep the ticket safe as if you take your phone out of your pocket to take pics it is easy to lose ticket on the mountain. The train operator charged us £100 approx to buy another ticket to go back down. That put a dampener on things. However I will point out that this is not the tour operator, it is the operator of the train who should have shown some understanding or accepted the fact that we had a receipt showing we had purchased a ticket.Written 17 February 2025
- kairump0 contributionsZurich Highlights: Bus, Ferry, and Gondola AdventureThis tour offered a fantastic overview of Zurich and its surroundings. Our guide Was awesome, very polite and answered all the questions (even in German) . It efficiently packed numerous sights into a four-hour timeframe. The bus tour covered Zurich's highlights before venturing along the coast to a lake ferry. The experience culminated with a gondola ride up a mountain, where guests could eat a Snack, hike or relax with a glass of wine. We thoroughly enjoyed this Tour! Thank you so muchWritten 16 February 2025
- aurelijav20250 contributionsFantastic Tour of Zurich with Bruno!Fantastic Tour of Zurich with Bruno! We had an amazing time on our Zurich city tour with Bruno! He is a local resident with a deep knowledge of Swiss history, traditions, and culture. His storytelling made the city come alive, especially when he shared the fascinating history of the Roman baths in Old Town and the beautiful Fraumünster Church. The bus tour was well worth it, providing stunning views of Zurich, and the visit to the hill with a small restaurant was a highlight. If you're looking for an informative and engaging tour, I highly recommendWritten 12 February 2025

- carrietI4041XX0 contributionsBest day in LucerneThis was amazing. We had a clear day so that helped. There are a few trails at the top of the mountain with great views. We brought a lunch to eat there, but there are restaurants, too. Personally, I would want to spend time exploring outside and not in a restaurant, though. The train back down the other side of the mountain was enjoyable with great views. Then, it finished with a boat ride with beautiful views. It is chilly on the mountain so bring layers.Written 5 February 2025

- caramellokoala0 contributionsA breathtaking experienceWhat a fabulous day. The weather really turned it on for all 71 of us. There were two outstanding guides on our bus and of course without the driver’s skills, we would not have arrived there and back safely. Carolla was the English speaking guide. It was such a magical experience and something we won’t forget in a hurry. Buy direct from Best of Switzerland Tours and save yourself some money.Written 31 January 2025
- ginjerome0 contributionsExtraordinary one-of-a-kind experience worth the expenseJungfraujoch is everything it is said to be and more. There are tunnels that run under the observatory that give you a thorough understanding of what it took to create this amazing place. There are multiple restaurants, shopping, and the display on the history of the building of the cog rail make for a full day's joy. This is not an inexpensive experience, but as every review I read while talking myself into this trip said, it is entirely worth it. It is like nowhere else on earth. The view is truly almost unearthly. Our guides were excellent at communicating how to best enjoy this trip every step of the way. I'm an avid hobbyist photographer, and our guide kept clueing me in to which side of the train or which part of the cable car I would prefer to place myself in, and which direction I should face. I was concerned that I would have trouble with the altitude, but I didn't. I definitely knew I was breathing air thinner than I was used to, but I didn't have any difficulties.Written 29 January 2025
- 265marions0 contributionsTitlis & Lucerne adventureI did the tour through "GoGetYourGuide" which was a day trip Zurich: Engelbergm, Titlis and Lucerne Day Tour. The duration is 11 hours and our guide was informative and very helpful. We had a bus trip from Zurich with beautiful views along the way. The guide was our driver and very safe. He provided key places to visit in Lucerne. We visited the town of Engelberg, and took the rotating cable car to the Peak of Mount Titlis. There is an icecave which is amazing and part of the tour. The Cliff walk is a suspension bridge on the peak. It was a blizzard when our group was up at the summit so wear warm clothes. You can take a break and have lunch at the cafe at the top. they have a good selection of food and drinks. They also have sledding and tubing available which is very fun and I highly recommend it toward the end of your stay at Titlis. The sun did come out later while we were there but the clouds were there most of the day. It was still a lot of fun.Written 28 January 2025
- Z9234PNrosannar0 contributionsToo expensive if weather is bad.The tour was great with the company we went through. However, for the price it was quite expensive and then we couldn’t go to the top to look at the main features of the tour due to weather and there is no partial refund. Not even a complimentary coffee/drink from the Mt Titlus organisation. That was extremely disappointing. I would choose another mountain where it is cheaper for the same experience we ended up having.Written 28 January 2025

We (me and my husband) visited Switzerland for the first time. We are from the USA, and it had been a dream of mines since I was 14. So, I must say my expectations were high. I will begin by saying overall it was one of the best decisions ever. The air was clean, the streets were clean, the water was clean. We met a very nice lady on the train who mentioned to us that a good friend was a travel ….however she was on vacation during the time of our stay so we venture out on our own for a tour guide. We ran across the Best of Switzerland tours.
First let me comment on our driver Jose. Jose was an extremely skilled driver and safe driver. My mother always had this phrase (be careful you are carrying precious cargo, when someone was responsible for getting us from point A to point B). well, I felt like that with Jose. On the day of our tour, it was very cold, wet, and rainy, and yet with Jose there were no slips and slides, no sudden stops, no having to back up because you turned to sharp, even took us down some incredibly tight spaces and maneuvered around cars like they were bicycles on the side of the road. Thank you, Jose, for keeping us all safe.
Monica was a delightful tour guide who obviously had guided many tourists during the bus ride in the city, to the walking tour in Old Town. It was kind of drizzly at this point and she used her bright red umbrella to hold up to keep a group of probably 50 together. That was ingenious. Here is where the disappointment came in, it was so cold, and so wet (rainy) and the winds were so high that for me personally it was a horrible day for walking 20 minutes. Ok I get it, but we can’t predict the weather. But even with the bad weather we were excited for the second part of the tour which was a boat ride (a cruise). We all lined up with anticipation, and then waited and waited. Monica came to let us know something was wrong with the boat and if they did not get it fixed, we would catch public transportation over to the last leg of the tour, which was the chocolate factory. Well, there we were all crammed on a city bus (which by the way wasn’t a horrible experience since it was also clean, no smell of dirt, smoke, or other unpleasant smells, no dirty carpet and etc). Bummer on no boat ride because I was really looking forward to it and was also quite hungry by this time since there was no eating or drinking on the bus (understandably so), and I really needed to potty (which would also been a welcomed opportunity). But overall, Monica with her sweet voice and calming spirit still made the tour very pleasurable and as we all reached the Lindt chocolate factory everything was so much better. I mean who doesn’t love chocolate. Thanks Monica.

Bernadette was delightful and informative with our group. She was extremely knowledgeable of the area and taking this tour at the beginning of our trip was extremely helpful because we knew what we wanted to spend more time visiting in the city later. The chocolate factory was an indescribable experience and I would recommend this tour for anyone who is either wanting to know more about Zurich at the beginning of a trip or someone who's only there for a day or two..

This excursion was funny and rewarding but for the wrong reasons. Our tour guide seemed to be unfamiliar with leading large groups and would consistently wander off to the next site without notifying the group or taking a headcount of who is present. During the bus tour she would point out notable sites after we had passed them, far too late for us to see or learn anything about them. At the home of chocolate she gave us our admittance tickets then said we were in our own to get back to the starting location. When asked if we could travel back with her she said no and that we must make our own way back to the starting location even though the online website says the starting and end point were the same. Despite all of this the home of chocolate and the lake cruise were very interesting and enjoyable, and the consistent errors and haphazardness of the tour guide made for great entertainment.

Dear Journey,
Thank you very much for participating in our Zurich, Cruise & Lindt Home of Chocolate tour and taking the time to write this feedback.
Our city tours are operated with a 48-seater bus and during peak times, they can get to full capacity. Our guides are well-trained to manage large groups effectively. We are sorry if you felt that your tour guide left you unattended and that you didn’t approach them to address your concerns for an immediate solution.
It surprises us that your tour guide suggested guests should go back to the starting location on their own without the option to return with the group. As mentioned in the description of the tour, the tour will conclude with a ride by public transport (bus, tram, or boat) to Zurich Main Station. Since not everyone wants to spend the same amount of time at the museum, the guide always provides a return time for those who wish to return together. However, if you'd like to stay longer, you can return on your own using the 24-hour transportation ticket provided at check-in. It is sad that we couldn't find any booking under your name and we are unable to investigate further what happened on the day of your tour directly with your tour guide and share your feedback with them.
We’re sorry to hear that the bus part of the tour didn’t fully meet your expectations. We understand that it can be frustrating when certain sights aren’t as visible as anticipated. While our guides aim to point out key attractions along the route, sometimes street conditions and city layout can make it challenging to provide clear views of everything.
We appreciate your understanding and are glad that you found the Chocolate Museum and the lake cruise interesting and enjoyable. We would love to have the opportunity to welcome you back on one of our tours to change your perspective. We wish you a great rest of your stay in Switzerland.
Best regards,
Magdalena from Best of Switzerland Tours

Our experience with the tour was disappointing. While Renate was our guide, we found her to be average and were frustrated by the inaccurate information she provided regarding the return boats to Zurich, which forced us to take an Uber back to the city.
The boat ride from Zurich was pleasant but quite crowded; I recommend arriving early to secure a seat outside. Unfortunately, the walking tour of the old town did not meet our expectations. Renate frequently cited roadworks as a reason for delays and detours, and while we understand that these situations arise in a bustling city, there was no well-planned alternative route offered. It felt like she hadn’t adequately prepared and was trying to stick to a route that was no longer feasible. The only good part of the tour was in the bus when we drove up to the 'Beverley Hills' area of Zurich and got out to look down over the city and the lake.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this tour. We could have explored on our own and saved money by renting a car instead. The visit to the Lindt factory felt overly commercialised and lacked engagement - it seemed more focused on selling chocolate than providing an insightful experience. The tour itself was more of a museum with artificial exhibits rather than an actual factory tour. It was overcrowded and left us feeling underwhelmed.

Dear Ruth,
Thank you very much for joining our Zurich, Cruise, and Lindt Home of Chocolate and for taking the time to write your feedback.
We are sorry to hear that you wouldn’t recommend the tour and that it lacked engagement. As clearly mentioned in the description of the tour, the tour will conclude with a ride by public transport (bus, tram, or boat) to Zurich Main Station. Since not everyone wants to spend the same amount of time at the museum, the guide always provides a return time for those who wish to return together. However, if you'd like to stay longer, you can return on your own using the 24-hour transportation ticket provided at check-in.
Our city tour offers a great overview of the highlights of Zurich in just 5 ¼ hours. Guests can easily browse shared photos and reviews from fellow travelers, offering a glimpse into the experiences that await them. While it can of course be explored individually walking from one spot to the other, it would simply not be possible to visit all sites in 5 hours, so guests perceive it as a hassle-free way to see as much as possible in a short amount of time. We also note that during winter, some lake routes may not operate, which can occasionally cause crowding on the boat to Lindt Home of Chocolate. We are sorry that this hindered you from fully enjoying this part of the tour and thank you for your understanding.
We’re sorry to hear the Lindt Home of Chocolate didn’t meet your expectations. The Lindt Home of Chocolate Museum in Zurich is highly regarded by many visitors, both tourists and locals, as a must-visit for chocolate lovers. It offers an immersive experience designed to help guests understand the rich history of chocolate. Nevertheless, we understand that preferences can vary.
We’re truly sorry to hear that the walking tour of the Old Town did not meet your expectations. We understand that roadworks and detours can be frustrating, and we apologize for the lack of alternative routes provided. While our guides always aim to adjust to such unexpected changes, it seems that in this case, we fell short in delivering a smooth experience. We will share your feedback with our team to ensure better planning and flexibility when such situations arise in the future.
We are happy that despite the inconveniences, you enjoyed the boat ride and the views from the lake and the cost. We hope that you were still able to enjoy the beautiful corners of our city and the rest of your stay in Switzerland.
Best regards,
Magdalena from Best of Switzerland Tours

The Best of Switzerland Tour AG Zurich Sightseeing Lake Cruise and Lindt Chocolate Tour was a true disappointment. It was pricey ($85+) given that our guide Veerna/Veera (Sept 20, 2023) left us at the Lindt factory. She left 20 minutes earlier than the time she stated to everyone. There were many of us that clearly heard her say that she was leaving at 2:40 pm from the factory in a particular meeting spot. When many of us went out 10-15 minutes early to meet her, other said they saw her leave 20 minutes early. We were all really shocked, as those of us who went to meet her, expected to return with her.
Additionally, the group was not only rushed, but our guide had her speaker set so low, only clients standing next to her could hear her. If she turned and talked, you could not hear her. It made engaging with the information really difficult. In the future, I suggest giving clients ear pieces so they can hear guides or use some kind of app, especially for premium tour costing $85 for a half day.
I was so excited about this tour as it was my one tour day in Zurich. I ended up being rushed and abandoned by my tour guide (Veerna/veera) when I paid over $85 for the half day tour.
Perhaps charging a little more and giving clients better customer service and a better experience would leave clients happier. Aspects of this tour like the rushing and being abandoned, left to return without contact with our guide felt very bargain tour-ish, yet this was not a bargain or free tour.
In sum, I would not book this tour again, nor recommend it, and I would be very careful about booking this company again. I suggest booking the boat, walking tour, and Lindt tour separately (Ala carte).

Dear Jennifer,
Thank you very much for sharing this detailed review about your experience on our Zurich, Cruise & Lindt Home of Chocolate tour.
We regret to hear that you were not satisfied with the services provided by your tour guide and would like to confirm that all our tours are carried out according to a fix schedule with precise timings. All our guides receive extensive and comprehensive training and are instructed to follow the guidelines.
To find out what went wrong during your tour, we spoke with your tour guide Verena. She confirmed that already at the first stop where she provides information via the voice amplifier, she does a check, which she announces as so called “radio check” to make sure everyone can hear her well. She confirms that she didn’t get any negative feedback.
Having arrived at the museum, before entering the building, she provided the information regarding the meeting point and time. As always, she stated 2:35 pm for those who want to return to the city with her. Many guests prefer to stay longer at the museum and since they hold a 24h ticket for public transport, they can return individually. After waiting 2 minutes, she left because our schedule foresees that the group takes the public bus at 2:47 pm and since there are always guests that cannot walk fast, we cannot allow a longer waiting time.
We are truly sorry to read that you missed our guide towards the end of the tour for returning back to Zürich with her. Whenever there is an issue during a tour, e.g. guide instructions unclear, cannot be heard well etc., we encourage our guests to approach the tour guide immediately in order to be able to correct it.
We hope that you could still enjoy your stay in Switzerland and that you give us a second chance in your next visit to our country.
Best regards,
Ambika from Best of Switzerland Tours

It is the ideal activity if you want to combine tourism, relaxation and delicacy! The tour begins with a tour of the main sights of the city, which allows you to get a good feel for the history and architecture of Zurich. The highlight for me was the cruise on the lake: a pure moment of tranquility with stunning views of the mountains. It was exactly what I needed to disconnect after a busy week.
The visit to the Lindt Home of Chocolate was a real treat, especially for children! We could see how chocolate is made and of course, enjoy some sweets. Be careful, you have to make room in your luggage to bring back chocolates, because the shop on site is irresistible.
The $95 Award is a bit high, but honestly, for the quality of the day and everything included, it’s definitely worth it. Trip Tip: be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as there is a bit of walking to do. A good mix of cultural discovery, relaxation and gourmet pleasure for the whole family!

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY £144 for 2 adults for this tour.
Which consisted of poor guiding, poorly organised in regards to information. The bus tour literally just drives around the city extremely pointless and a waste of money.
The chocolate factory is only £17 for a adult ticket on the door. I don't know why it was so expensive or what value for money we actually got because there wasn't any. Value for money I would say should be around £50 per couple. But because wages are ridiculous here the money is paying the rubbish tour guide and the bus driver which the bus was pointless anyway.
Just book the boat/public transport and factory tour separately on your own.

Dear Trebor1236,
Thank you for participating in our Zurich, Cruise and Lindt Home of Chocolate tour and for taking the time to write this review.
We are sorry to read that the tour didn’t meet your expectations. We strive to offer a well-rounded and enjoyable experience for our guests, and we regret that you felt the tour did not provide value for money. Our city tour offers a great overview of the highlights of Zurich in just 5 ¼ hours. It provides a convenient and informative way to explore the city’s key landmarks, and guests can easily browse shared photos and reviews from fellow travelers to get a glimpse of the experiences that await them. While it is certainly possible to explore the sites individually by walking from one spot to another, visiting all the locations within the 5-hour timeframe would be challenging. Many of our guests find it to be a hassle-free way to see as much as possible in a short amount of time.
Taking into account that the tour includes the bus ride through the main districts, the walking tour, the boat ride, the entrance to the museum, the fully guided experience, and the 24-hour transportation ticket, we believe it is a fair cost. The tour is designed to offer a comprehensive experience with added convenience, allowing guests to enjoy Zurich's highlights without the stress of planning each detail separately.
We genuinely appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve. We hope you enjoyed your time in the city and wish you all the best in your future travels.
Best regards,
Magdalena from Best of Switzerland Tours

The experience was very complete, with bus tours to various sites in the city, walk in the historic center, ride on the lake on a large ferry and visit to the chocolate museum. The guide was friendly and spoke English and Spanish. Go very warm because in winter the cold is terrible.

The guide did a fine job, switching from language to language when answering the specific questions of the group. The bus portion of the tour was a bit rushed, making it difficult to see the sights the guide was referring to. The boat tour was lovely and relaxing. The chocolate tour was a nice way to end the day. Lindt does a very professional job and is really enjoyable. A nice bonus is the 24 hour transit pass that comes with the tour.

The tour was not what I expected. The first part we went on a bus for an hour with a guide. The information we were given was very basic. Example…We are passing our university, this is our banking center. No info that a local should know and be able to pass on. Then we got to the part where we got off the bus for the old town walk. The guide walked so fast about half the people turned around and went back to the bus. Being in a tour group that prepaid gave us no advantage getting on the boat, in fact we were the last to board and some people had to stand because the seats were all taken. When you get to the Lindt factory you are given your ticket and then it is “enjoy “ no instructions, no guided tour inside. You are told you have several options to return to town but you are not dropped off where you started. You have to get back yourself. I would not recommend this tour

Dear Kalico10,
Thank you very much for your detailed feedback on our Zurich, Lake Cruise and Lindt Home of Chocolate tour.
We are very sorry to read that our tour did not live up to your expectations. Our guides are trained to provide wealthy information not only about the visited attractions but also about the history and culture of our country. We would have liked to forward your feedback to your tour guide to help him/her enhance his/her services, but unfortunately, we could not find any booking under your name.
Our tour also includes a half an hour walking tour in the old town to show our guests the beautiful corners of the city that cannot be accessed by bus. Especially with larger groups, this part can be challenging since not all guests have the same mobility level. Nevertheless, it is the responsibility of the tour guide to take this into consideration and adapt the walking speed to ensure that guests can follow him/her without difficulties. We would have greatly appreciated it if you had addressed your concerns directly to your tour guide.
Since we take the public boat to go to Lindt Home of Chocolate Museum, it is not possible to make any seat reservation. Yet, this has hardly ever led to negative feedback before. The visit to the chocolate museum cannot be guided by our tour guides due to the high volume of visitors they welcome every day. However, there are audio guides available in multiple languages.
After the visit, our guests can decide if they would like to return with the tour guide to the main train station or stay longer. With the 24-hour ticket that they get at chek in, they have the possibility to continue exploring the city center by public transport like a local. We consider this contributes to the overall value of the tour.
We regret to hear that you felt the tour was not worth your money and time but hope that you still enjoyed a wonderful stay in Zurich.
Best regards,
Ambika from Best of Switzerland Tours

It would probably depend on the type of bus used if storage for the wheelchair is available. Perhaps if you contact the tour organizer directly. We booked through Viator.
