Our tour guide was excellent. She was knowledgeable about all aspects of the places we visited and always responsive to our questions and needs. Transportation by several of Switzerland’s superb railroads was a highlight and enabled us to see a lot of what makes Switzerland special including the Alps in winter. This tour focused in part on the Christmas markets. Unfortunately the quality and quantity of goods at several markets was less than hoped. A more selective choice of Christmas markets would enhance future winter tours.

We loved this tour! Great choice of beautiful mountain destinations, charming hotels and restaurants that offered local cuisine. Our guides Gabriella and Leo were so personable, knowledgable, and fun to be with. They went the extra mile to make sure everyone was taken care of. Our small group let us be flexible and so it did not feel like a cookie-cutter tour. Going by train like the locals a plus too. Thanks, ECHO!

Monika at ECHO Trails worked with us to design an independent tour of Zurich, the Bernese Oberland, and the Alps. She listened to our requests for not-too-formal accommodations, and we were more than pleased with the comfortable rooms with amazing views. Our Swiss Travel Pass was easy to use as was the SBB Mobile App. We rode trains everywhere, buses in Lauterbrunnen, and a ferry on Lake Thun. There was one glitch with a reservation which was quickly resolved by the ECHO Trails team. We would highly recommend them.

Echo Rails and Trails did not disappoint! Our guide was exceptional in every way possible; from providing interesting historical information about the region to guiding us through trains, buses, boats and more trains keeping to a busy schedule! The tour was well organized and customized to accommodate everyone’s individual needs.. Hotel accommodations were lovely and the food a culinary delight. Switzerland is indeed a magical place to visit with soaring mountains, rich history and beautiful scenery.

WOW! What an adventure! Switzerland is a beautiful country and Andrea has put together a awesome small group train voyage through the picturesque mountains and charming cities. Two nights in every city gave us a no rush time to view the sights and explore. Top notch hotels, excellent choice of restaurants and transported luggage a huge bonus. Amazing, once in a lifetime experience.

Our 8 day Echo Rails and Trails was truly a Switzerland Experience. Andrea Caspani, our guide, flawlessly planned and organized this trip with love and passion for his country which allowed us to experience Switzerland through his eyes. We were constantly surrounded by beauty! From the iconic Matterhorn, Jungfrau, the unbelievable beauty of the Grosse Scheidegg Pass, Staubbach Falls in Lauterbrunnen, to Lake Lugano, Lake Como and Lake Lucern were all unbelievable. The sounds of the Alp horns, cow bells, post auto bus horns all added to the experience. Andrea encouraged us to try local wines, beers, introduced us to Aperol Spritz, cheese fondue, fondue chinoise and took us to his favorite Gelato Bar. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Switzerland. Andrea shared with us everything he loves about Switzerland, making this experience one we will always remember. Anyone planning a Switzerland vacation should look no further than Echo Rails and Trails!!!!

What a wonderful time we had on our Grand Tour of Switzerland with Echo Rails & Trails. The scenery was simply spectacular at every turn. The Echo Rails itinerary provided the opportunity to explore Switzerland using all forms of public transportation which worked very well together – panoramic trains, normal trains, busses, trams, funicular, cog-wheel trams, cable cars, boats, etc. Our guides, Gabriella and Leo, did a terrific job of coordinating the group while taking into consideration everyone’s individual needs and preferences. They were knowledgeable, professional, and fun to be with. We learned a lot and experienced many things we would have missed had we been traveling on our own. Echo Rails & Trails handled everything very professionally -- from the original contact with Monika months ago to answer all our questions, to our tour kickoff meeting with Andrea, and finally the tour itself with our excellent guides. The small group format worked very well, and meeting and sharing the journey with our fellow travelers was an added plus.

Even though I had always heard that Switzerland was beautiful, I was amazed at the natural beauty of this place. Every day seemed to be more spectacular than the last. I was so happy to finally be able to do this trip. Andreas is the owner of this tour company, and he did a fabulous job of getting us from place to place. His organization is second to none. We all felt like family in just a few hours. It was truly amazing. The views were spectacular, and I think that he included every view that anyone would ever want to do and things to do. Lots of steps, but each one was worth it. The hotels were all First Class...Rail cars all First Class. We never had a "bad" meal, The restaurants were amazing, and the service at each made you feel like one of the family. They were happy to explain the menu and help you decide on a course right for you. The whole trip was First Class. If you would like to see All there is to see in Switzerland, do it with Echo Trails. It is worth every dime and more. Thank you, Andrea, for making all my dreams come true with this Trip of a Lifetime.

Our Grand Rail Tour of Switzerland was a truly amazing adventure! By the end of the trip we felt we had been immersed not only in Swiss travel but also in her history, her culture, her breathtaking scenery, her chocolates, cheeses, and sausages! Our guide, Andrea, was simply “the best”~~a joy from start to finish! I highly recommend this trip!

The trip was amazing. Well planned and well executed. Hotels were all good and the food was excellent. This trip is a little pricey, but it is definitely worth it. All travel is first class and great hotels and luggage transfer took the stress out. Some meals were just order whatever you want off the menu, all included in very nice restaurants. We were lucky that our guide, Andrea, is also the owner, so we had the very best service. The smaller group size was also a big plus. I highly recommend this tour.

Switzerland is a definite bucket list trip! Beautiful country and amazing things to do Andrea the owner of the company was our guide and prepared and capable in every way. So nice to just show up and have everything planned and taken care of. Andrea’s personality is perfect for his job. Worth every dollar!

We did this private e-bike tour with Livia, our guide. She was outstanding! She was very professional and personable. She is someone you would enjoy spending the day with out on an adventure. The entire experices was great, from booking to the actual day trip. Livia contacted us a day or so before about the departure time and trip details and she was very knowledgeable about the area. Overall, I would highly recommend this trip. It was a fun e-bike experience the return via boat was also different and enjoyable.

The trip was wonderful but even more was Andrea Caspani. He made the whole experience easy and fun! Anyone wanting a wonderful trip to Switzerland needs to choose this one.

The trip was wonderful. Beautiful scenery, well organized,great hotels and excellent food. Andrea was an excellent host. He was fun and very knowledgeable about all the different areas we toured. We enjoyed riding all the different modes of transportation too. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the countryside of Switzerland. We really enjoyed the small group travel too. We went on a hike throughout the surrounding mountains of Zermatt today. Our guide, Pete, was one of the most attentive and knowledgeable guides we have ever had lead a tour. From local fauna to the different geological features on the trail, Pete took care of all our questions. We can’t recommend him enough.
