The guide had all my contact information but never reached out to me. I was very disappointed as I had received several emails regarding my prepayment but no email explaining why no one met me.Written 8 November 2024

- Helen H0 contributionsWrong link on trip advisor to meeting pointThe trip advisor link to the meeting point was incorrect so we were in the wrong place and it was a 22 minute walk back. Am sure tour was fab but we did t go on it, gutted.Written 18 October 2024
- welshlady010 contributionsSimilar to Firenze but on a smaller scale.Beautiful City, similar to Florence but not half as big and busy which made it easier to manouvere around and enjoy the scenery. Guide was very informative.Written 30 September 2024
- fion_heid0 contributionsGreatVittoria, our guide, was very, very good. I loved how she took us through the physical evidence of Romanesque period, Middle Ages, Gothic, Renaissance, and Napoleonic within the architecture of the city fabric itself. And the relationship Lucca had with other Tuscan cities too. I felt that I could look at the city from a more informed perspective. Thank youWritten 24 September 2024
- Helen W0 contributionsInformative and engagingOur guide, Marta, was excellent. She was knowledgeable, interesting, humorous and shared her Italian history and culture passionately. She was also caring and considerate towards the people on the tour. The walking was gentle and the tour provided a good oversight into Lucca's history and main points of interest. There were opportunities for questions and discussion. A thoroughly enjoyable tour.Written 20 September 2024
- churchyouthadviser0 contributionsInteresting Tour and Great ValueWe very much enjoyed this guided tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. We saw many different sites and she provided interesting background on all of them. This a good value for the price. Our only issue which prevents it from being. 5 stars was the confusing directions on the meeting point. It is shown as being at a pizza, but in reality it is at a tourism office beside the Piazza. We had to call the operator to find out where we should go. I see another negative review where the customer totally missed the tour because they couldn’t find the meeting place. They really need to improve the directions for the meeting point.Written 9 September 2024

- I1329PIclairev0 contributionsLovely tour of LuccaLovely tour around Lucca finding out about its history and tips for other places to see. Our guide was friendly and knew Lucca well. Slow, steady pace and a smaller group was great. Definitely recommend.Written 26 July 2024

- VGudeman0 contributionsBuyer Beware!!I would give zero stars if possible. We arrived to make the tour on the moment it was to begin. There was no one at the sight. Attempted to reach tour guide through mobile app and it would not connect. Waited almost 20 minutes. When we returned to the hotel, on WiFi, I reached out to Tour guide. I received a response that we must have been in a wrong spot. I explained we followed the map provided to us in the confirmation email that guided us to where we waited for the tour guide. I am still waiting for the tour company to “complete its investigation” before I receive a credit. I engaged in a different kind of tour in Lucca the night before and it was great with no issues. Clearly not the same company. I will update if I hear back from company.Written 17 July 2024

What a great experience- Roberta was so knowledgeable it was just a joy to learn about Puccini, opera, music and theatre in lucca. She also had some great tips about best bakery ( we found the bread a bit stale when there sadly) etc. thank you Roberta!

We deliberately booked this for our arrival as it seemed a good way of initially exploring a city with such rich musical history ,with someone in the know .
We were not disappointed . Roberta’s knowledge was extensive and she enthusiastically pointed out so many details we might easily have missed alone . She was also very good at tuning into our questions and expanding on our interest.
The 2 hour tour ends at the Puccini museum / birthplace , where his Steinway piano on which he composed Turandot is on display . NB Tickets to the museum are included in the cost of the tour , but if you fancy a break after 2 hours strolling round the city you have the option to do the museum later .

Gentle, general walking tour of Lucca, but with emphasis on musical history, especially Puccini. Alexandra was a great guide, with immaculate English and a great sense of humour. Great value for money. Really enjoyed it

We had visited beautiful Lucca in the past but this time wanted to spend a whole week staying within the walls and really getting to know the city. Our stay surpassed even our high expectations and a key highlight was the magical music tour. Our guide Giorgio (a member of the Puccini museum team) genuinely inspired us with his knowledge and enthusiasm and we learnt a great deal about Lucca's history and musical heritage. We're certainly not opera buffs and we came away with a much greater understanding of why opera is so central to Italian culture. Giorgio was a really fun and engaging guide and we can recommend this tour unreservedly - enjoy!

Our lovely tour guide Paola was very knowledgeable (a local) and speaks excellent English. As there were only 2 of us, we were able to ask many questions about life in the city as we strolled through it. She provided musical interludes which I thought was a nice way to enhance the experience. We felt that we had learnt a great deal about the history of the place. Unfortunately the theatre was closed, but we were able to see all the other highlights listed, finishing at the Casa Puccini so you are free to spend some more time there if you wish. (I had bought the tickets at the Tourist Information office in Piazzale Verdi the previous day)

This tour was so magical to us. Lucia made sure she covered all of the musical areas in Lucca. If you love Puccini take this tour! If you just love music take this tour! You travel through the heart of Lucca. She made sure she played music by each musician that she spoke about truly the Best! ❤️

Just finished a wonderful tour of the musical world of Lucca with our tour guide, Giorgio. He was very personable and knowledgeable and very considerate in keeping us out of the heat on this very hot day. If you are a lover of opera or classical music this is the best tour of Lucca you could and should take. Also a terrific value. We highly recommend it!

Kristiana was an entertaining and engaging guide who really knew her stuff! We had a really excellent tour of the city. Who knew it has played host to such a wide range of iconic musicians, everyone from Puccini, Boccherini and Paganini to Chet Baker and the whole Lucca summer festival with so many in between. All brought together with a thorough knowledge of the history of this city and excerpts of the music that has filled its walls. (Kristiana also gave us a great restaurant tip, “Giglio”. If you fancy something a bit up market go there, it’s worth it!).

We are coming to Lucca only for lunch and a quick look around tomorrow. Is it possible to include a Puccini-centered tour or experience?
