We were delayed by nearly two hours due to lost luggage, but they were waiting for us and offered us a taxi within 10 minutes - just what we needed after a frustrating time at the airport. The office is easy to find and the staff friendly. The water taxi dropped us right by our hotel and the trip was amazing - it is really the only way to arrive in Venice. Would highly recommend.Written 24 December 2024
- Info E0 contributionsPay the extra to get more!We were the last group to go. Our gondola person was being g an ass the moment we all got on the boat. He was barely able to make an effort to tell us the historical sites on the way. All this was actually fine as we didn’t really expect much… it was what he said in the end… upon our arrival, they were asking for tips and we were accessing our cash looking to see where we give it and the person called my man a puta. He questioned the gondola person by saying what did you just call me? We went ahead and tipped but it was very sad they were so quick to assume or judge. I did feel bad as the tip basket was pretty empty. I loved riding on gondola as it was peaceful, at sunset and romantic nonetheless…Written 20 December 2024
- CarlW9620 contributionsGreat Serenade Ride in GondolaThe Gondola Ride was amazing, especially being we booked the Serenade version. There was 4 in our Gondola along with the Guide/Steering person, and the Guitar player. The Gondola next to us had the Singer and we went side by side the whole trip as they played and sang. People were on the bridges recording this great adventure. It was well worth the extra fee for the Serenade Ride.Written 9 December 2024

The gondola ride was the highlight, offering a unique and peaceful way to see the canals. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, but I wish the tour had included a bit more time for exploring on our own. - DayTrip4148480 contributionsInjured on the water taxiI booked this company through Expedia to get to the city from the airport. The captain who helped me descend from the boat pulled my arm so strongly that I now have torn ligaments on my rotator cuff. I am in physical therapy as a result. When I contacted the Bucintoro's customer service in Venice, not only did he deny that he had ever touched me, but he blamed my son, who helped me after the captain had pulled on my arm 2 times. The company refused to take any responsibility.Written 13 November 2024
- Jillian3110 contributionsExcellent overview of Venice with gondola ride at the end! This was a lovely way to see some hidden gems while on a 1-day trip to Venice! The tour guide, Frederica, for the walking tour was so knowledgeable and friendly. She shared some great tidbits about the history of Venice. After the 1-1.5 hour leisurely walking tour, you line up for a 20-30 minutes gondola ride in the grand canal. FYI- you have to share the ride with 2 other people unless you request and pay more for a private one. Also FYI- the walking tour does not include entrance to any museums or the basilica. Plan to do that separately! PS the gondola stop is right in front of the famous Harry’s bar if you’re looking for a drink in an historic place!Written 7 November 2024

He led us round some really interesting parts of the city and drew attention to details so easily missed just wandering round alone. As with all things Venice it’s a lot of walking and at a reasonable pace. The gongola ride was ok. Nice to get a slightly different view of a little of the city but even in October it’s so busy you spend some time in ‘Gondola Jams’. Worth doing this just for the walking tour imoWritten 17 October 2024

This is the second time we have been on this trip but I think we must have had a whole day last time. Half a day isn't quite long enough to sight see and eat
Glass blowing is what it is and if they didn't give us so long waiting to see if we are going to buy some of the overpriced items then maybe we could have longer in beautiful Burano. But having said that, and even though it rained all day, we really had a lovely time and the friends we took absolutley loved it.

If the idea of using the local public water bus is too intimidating, then this tour is for you. It will get you to 3 locations you otherwise wouldn't see, and will get you back. Beyond that, it doesn't offer much extra. There is a commentary during the excursion that points out various features along the way that was interesting, or would have been if I could hear it over the boats motor noise. Murano was interesting because of the glass blowing demonstration... But it was very short. Most shops on the island also sell glass and claim to offer demonstrations, though. Torcello was a decent walk to an old church area that cost to get in, and then a decent walk back. I could have skipped that. Burano had the pretty colored houses and lace shops. This time there was no coordinated lace making demonstration for our group.. Instead, you had to go find it on your own in one of the various shops.
I have not idea how the tour costs compared to buying your own tickets on the public boats. If the price is the same or cheaper, then you'd have the advantage of staying as long as you want versus keeping to the tour schedule. We saw people who arrived at the boat about 10 seconds too late that were left behind at the first island... So they got to pay for the tour AND local public boat rides. Be warned.
Final note. The instructions were a little vague about departure time. The time listed is from San Marco square. If you are getting on at the train station, it leaves a half hour earlier. Read the instructions carefully and get there early.

My partner and I are 24 & 25 respectively. We booked this tour as we only had a couple of days in Venice and wanted to make the most out of it! Overall, we thought this tour was great and allowed us to see places we wouldn’t have been able to visit ordinarily.
The location to collect the tickets was incredibly easy to find. We stayed outside of Venice so gave ourselves just over an hour to find the destination. We had Google maps and it was no issue for us.
The boat was comfortable and had an inside and outside area to sit. The seats were padded which was lovely as we spent about an hour sitting down on the return leg.
We were given 45 minutes on each island to explore. Not a lot of time but I understand there was a lot to get through! It was enough to briefly see the island - however, make sure you take a pastry or snack with you as there’s no time to sit and have a meal. Carry cash as some of the snack shops didn’t take card payments and you will need water!
The first island with the glass blowing can trick you slightly - once you’ve had the demonstration & if you don’t want to buy anything, don’t go to the shop. They trap you there and you waste so much time!! We made this mistake and only ended up with 20 minutes to see the island. The glass is very expensive so I would recommend watching the demonstration and going back outside afterwards.
The guide was helpful but I would say the whole team weren’t too friendly - however, we are British and expect everyone to be smiling and happy, I know this isn’t the case in Europe. The boat took a while to get back to the return area so it’s something to keep in mind if you’re not good at traveling on boats!
We didn’t leave a tip as nobody else appeared to and there was no designated area for one. However, we had €5 ready to leave if there had been a box to put it in.
We would definitely recommend for couples and families!

This was the first time we have been in Venice and this trip was a great way to see the surrounding islands and it's different cultures.
The guide (Francesca B. - ask for her) knew a lot of the history about the many different islands and Venice in general.
The glass factory on Murano was amazing and seeing the sculptures at work was a great experience.
Though it was clearly Burano wich was the main attraction with it's many beautiful colored houses and scenery
Can only recommend!

This tour starts off by taking you via the water taxi system to Murano to see a quick glass making demonstration and on to the gift shop. Afterwards you will have about 15 minutes to walk around the island before the water taxi departs for Torcello. Torcello has approx. 7 residents and most of the places were closed when we arrived. You are given 30 minutes to walk the island before the boat departs for Burano. In my opinion, Torcello should be removed from this tour as it’s not worth your time. Lastly you arrive at Burano which is a lovely town with many shops. This stop needs more time than the tour allows. I recommend buying a ticket to visit the islands of Murano and Burano and skipping the trip advisor tour. Lastly, during the boat ride you will have a guide who speaks about the islands in three different languages. It’s difficult to hear what the guide says and it’s too much information at once. People stop listening and start talking because they can’t hear and process the information that is being provided by the guide.

I was very concerned about being late for the excursion based on the reviews. When we arrived at the pier the queue was incredibly long. About 15 minutes after the start time, a small boat arrived. They were unable to load all the passengers. We were informed the large boat was out of commission and were working with a smaller boat. We were informed another boat would be coming for the remaining passengers.
An hour after the original departure time, 2 water taxis came to take us to Murano. We were greeted on the pier by a gentleman who ushered us into a glass blowing factory where we were given a demonstration and then shown the store. We were told we would have an additional 1.5 hours to explore the island since we would be joining the next group!
We explored some of the shops and enjoyed our time, returning to the pier at the appointed time only to be informed there would be an additional delay of 45 minutes. Once more after those 45 minutes had passed and still no boat, we were told the boat had broken down and they were trying to get the issue resolved but didn’t have a time estimate.
We opted to take public transportation back to Venice since we had already spent the entire duration of the planned excursion waiting on boats that did not appear to be reliable.

Upon booking Venice, we realised how many islands actually surrounded Venice and we knew that if it was possible, we had to check them out. So, we did some research and found that there were tours of each island happening from the docks not far from our hotel. However, as we had left it quite late, most of the tours had sold out before we had an opportunity to book them.
Then we found this tour.
Not only was it affordable, it made good for time, only taking up about four hours of the day so that we could still explore and make the most of our short trip to Venice. Originally, it seemed like we wouldn't have enough time to look around, and while more time would have been nice, fifty minutes was a plentiful amount to search each island and explore.
The boat ride to each island was provided with a tour, with both English and Italian translations, in which we were taught about the islands we were passing and their history. Although it was a bit hard to hear over the chatter, it was still interesting to learn about.
On the first island, we were immediately taken to watch the art of glass making, an impressive, yet hot technique of making glass. It was interesting to watch how it was done and we were then shown a room full of glass art that was available for sale. While it was out of my price range, I could appreciate the beauty and talent of each piece. Due to the demonstration, we were given less time to explore, but plenty of time to take a look around and buy a snack if need be.
Our second island was a lot quieter and it felt as if less people lived there, but it was still a breathtaking sight. We walked along the water, passing restaurants and vendors, until we found some kind of historical building. Due to our time frame, we were unable to explore much, but we managed to take in the sights and even watched an accordion player.
Burano was one of my favourite places visited on the trip. A beautiful and colourful island indeed. We were dropped off and left to explore the rainbow and it was absolutely gorgeous, full of vibrant colours. Each building seemed to be some kind of shop, mostly selling jewellery or artwork, each beautiful to look at - we were even able to spot a cat. Before leaving the island, we managed to find a bit of shade under a tree to relax and keep out of the sun before moving on.
By the time we arrived back to Venice, we had definitely felt we had seen and learnt a lot about the islands off of Venice. For the price of the tour, I highly recommend it, as you get to not only visit each island, but you learn about them at the same time.

It's just a waste of time. To begin with, the tour is conducted in 4 languages at once !!! First, a couple of phrases are spoken in Italian, then in German, Spanish, and finally English. Sometimes, when the turn came to English, we already swam the object of the conversation.
The first stop is Murano. 15 minutes of a truly spectacular glass making show. That was the only good thing about the tour. Then you are given 20 minutes from above to walk, but you do not have time to see anything, but Murano is a beautiful island and I would like to spend more time there. Then you are taken to the island of Torcello. An empty and uninteresting island. You are dropped off and sent alone to the church for the entrance to which you have to pay 5 euros, which no one informed about before the start of the tour. 40 minutes on an empty island. Bravo! Then you are taken to the Burano island where you are also left alone for 40 minutes. Pretty cute little island with colorful buildings. However, by that time you no longer have the mood and desire to look at houses. At the end you will finally be brought back.
This is the worst and most useless waste of time in Venice. Please do not make my mistake and it is better to take a separate ticket for Murano and Burano. You will get much more pleasure. Find information from the tour (of which there was very little) in Wikipedia. There is much more of it!

Dear pavlov32,
we are sorry to read you were not completely satisfied with our tour.
Murano, Burano and Torcello are among the most beautiful islands of the Venetian Lagoon and we understand the desire to spend more time on each island.
Nevertheless, our half-day boat tour aims to give only a panoramic view of the life, culture and traditions of 3 islands for a very competitive price (20 Euro!). We think it's a great price for what we offer: private transportation from Venice center, hostess that provides multilingual explanations on board (which for us is an added value), free glassblowing demonstration in an ancient furnace and so on.
We also understand that Burano can be the most charming island among the 3, but the other 2 aren't less worthy: Torcello is the first island that was inhabited even before Venice, and Murano has a long tradition in the art of glass making that has made this island famous all over the world starting from the 14th century.
You can easily find all this information on our website or by asking to one of our ticket office: the tour is exactly how it is described.
Thank you for choosing Bucintoro Viaggi,
Best regards,

Tour: guide was giving us some information for each island but we couldn't hear half of it because of the other people talking, and the other half because the boat is too loud / speakers aren't loud enough, we could only hear a couple of words here and there.
Murano: fun experience seeing how glass is blown, prices in the factory are through the roof, there are stores on the island with much lower prices.
Torcello: relaxing and peacefull but nothing to see in the given time as the museum / tower is at the far end of the island and touring it would stress me to make it back to the boat, and it is not included in the visit so it's an additional cost.
Burano: nice and cozy town, good for taking photos
Murano: fun experience seeing how glass is blown, prices in the factory are through the roof, there are stores on the island with much lower prices.

Civitalis advertise as a boat trip to Murano, Burano and Torcello from and to Venice taking 6 hours. What you get: trip to Murano where you get shown 10 mins of glass blowing and then you are left for 3 hours. While pretty all Murano has to offer are endless shops selling glass which no way merit 3 hours. Then to Torcello where you get 36 minutes, just time to walk to the cathedral - the only significant feature of the island - absolutely no time to go in it. Then to Burano, a gem, very pretty and deserves much more time but you get just 50 minutes. On the first boat you could not hear the tour guide. On the return the volume was deafening and the guide giggling merrily. The so say six hour trip is nearer 7.5 hours. Completely avoid this trip and the tour company Consorzio Vidali Group which operates the boats. And I have not even gone into detail on the seats that are not fixed down in the boat and are dangerous.
Civitalis should not be selling this trip without major changes including a new tour provider and competent staff.

No idea sorry but it is absolutely worth the price either way 😊

Is the price including the price of the boat?
Are there any hidden expenses in the tour?
If we want the tour in Spanish, do we get a guide or rather an audio guide to listen to?

The price of the excursion includes the price of the boat. There is a tour guide on the boat that speaks in English, Spanish, German and French. There no hidden expenses
