About
We have imagined a different and innovative way for those who want to discover what to do in Valle d'Aosta in addition to the classic sports activities, and in particular what to do in the beautiful city of Aosta: a walking food tour through the restaurants, wine bars and cafes together with a local food expert.
Our food tour in Aosta includes a rich meal (lunch or dinner) through the city center, with dishes served in different restaurants and with anecdotes and information about the dishes tasted, the places visited and the local gastronomic tradition.

What a joke. We were a family of 6 looking for a nice food tour in Aosta. The tour description advertised for a Local «Expert», with a tour through several nice local restaurants.
What happened is a complete tourist trap.
We paid 685 Europa for 6 people, so over 110 eur per person for a nice lady joining us for:
-1x wine glass and cheese plate at average streetside restaurant
- 1x strange Local lasagne with a glass of wine and beer
- cappuccino and gelato from street side vendor
All in all, the value provided is a complete rip off when the guide doesnt provide any local information or «anectdotes». The guide was nice, but its like paying 400 euro for a young woman to follow you for 3 hours.
Will think twice moving forward before paying for a «food» Expert when in fact its just a tourist trap looking for easy money hiring Local hotel receptionist to skim tourists.
Never again.

Good morning, we are sorry that the tour was not to your liking.
However, you forgot to mention that you arrived almost an hour late and the local expert still waited for you even though he could have left after 15 minutes. Your delay caused problems with all the restaurants we had reservations with and we had to skip a stage as well. The first course is a choice of traditional dishes so the lasagna (which lasagna is not) was chosen by you. Regarding anecdotes, usually a lot of information is told about the dishes and the local culinary tradition and we find it strange that this time this was not done and we will ask our tour leader for an explanation. Regards

An excellent way to learn more about Aosta and the tasty kitchen of the valley. We loved especially the visit in the cheese cave where so many pieces of cheese were stored and the tasting in the neighbouring "grotta".
Many thanks to our well prepared and super nice guide that made the food tour to a beautiful memory for our family. This is a tour we would love to recommend to our friends.

We had a fab food tour with Thora in Aosta. Our favourite part was the underground cheese experience, which was really special. Thora was extremely knowledgeable and we learned lots about the history and culture of the area. It made us appreciate the valley and its wonders even more. We would highly recommend this tour!

The tour with Roberto was an amazing, unique experience. He has an exceptional knowledge of Italian cuisine (being a professional cook himself), has a great knowledge of Aosta Valley and is a great companion to spend time together.

The food tour was a fun way to be introduced to Aosta and some of the food of the area. I’ve been on many food tours, and I would recommend this one and our very friendly guide!

The tour starts with a charcuterie board - cheese for 2 people with a glass of wine; quality products but nothing exceptional; classic and not especially hearty.
We continue with a tasting of 4 cheeses in a beautiful cellar; the products are excellent; I had taken the drinks option for 20€; I will have to settle for a glass of water...
We then stop in a pastry shop, the aim being obviously to make us buy; we resist; we are then handed two tiny bags of crunchy cakes (about 3€ each, again).
Then comes a 4th place (a very medium ranked restaurant in Aosta) where we are served the traditional galet of Aosta with a (only) glass of very basic wine. The welcome is pretty cold.
And now a little dolce? Well, no, it's over! All this lasted barely 2 hours; not a word about the history of the city (Roman gate and theater, cathedral), about the wines of the region...
I conclude that the drinks option is limited to a glass of wine. At that price, we could at least have had Barolo.
Know that for 80€ in Aosta, you have an exceptional menu discovery in a star; it is up to you to choose.
Anyway, thieves! And if participants enjoy getting plucked, well take it from them.

Bonjour,
