After pickup from select hotels and locations in central Bologna, an air-conditioned minibus takes you out of the city. Make your first stop at a Emilia-Romagna cheesemaker to hear how Parmigiano-Reggiano is made and sample some of the tangy cheese.
Step back in the van and continue to Modena, the capital of balsamic vinegar. Learn about “black gold” vinegar and the local vinegar-making traditions. Then, head to a prosciutto factory to sample the cured ham to uncover the secrets of its curing process.
The next stop is the Ferrari Museum (Museo Ferrari) for a guided tour, with priority admission. Opt to test drive a Ferrari at your own expense if you like.
