Mediocre tour guide. Nothing exceptional. His highlight seemed to be the constant repetition of where the city roads used to be before excavation.

    Love the history!
Fe was a wonderful story teller and shared lots of history of the Colloseum and Palentine Hill. The ruins were fascinating. I highly recommend this tour and Fe was an excellent guide.

    Incredible History Day
Incredible enjoyable and informative experience. The tour was 3 hours long but seems to last no no time at all. The guide was incredible - she was so informed, well versed in the history of Rome, had supporting materials to help people better visualise Rome across time. This was a great few hours and well worth the investment of time and money.

Skip this tour and do it on your own
This tour was terrible and not worth it. You're better off going alone. The check-in process was a mess. Even after we checked in, they were calling our phones, which involved international charges for us. Then they gave us an earpiece, but the guide was hard to understand, especially when she talked fast. Worse, she was walking and talking throughout the tour, so you couldn’t see what she was explaining. She would then stop and point things out, but not everyone was there yet. By the time we arrived, the explanation was over, and we were moving again. At times, she walked so far ahead that the earphone connection would cut out. Most tours involve walking to a site, gathering the group, and then providing the explanation—not just walking the whole time. It would have been better to buy a book and explore on your own as a self-guided tour.

We went on this tour around Rome today and , we had an amazing time . We had already explored Rome on foot , but on this tour we managed to see other things that we thought we had missed out on! We had Dennis as our tour guide and he was , he was absolutely brilliant, and he made the day! Thanks Dennis

Great tour, shame about the tour guide
The colosseum was great to visit, the tour guide was nice, but information was very limited and the guide spoke very quickly with being Italian, which made it difficult to capture everything that was being said, shame really as the guide is what you are paying for, and if you can’t understand half of what is being said, at first people thought it was a broken microphone which was swopped, but didn’t really make any difference, and people didn’t want to waste anymore time and wanted to get on with the tour.

    City Walkers amazing tour
Only way to do a tour of the Vatican. Tour guide was professional and went into great detail about the complete history. There is so much to digest it it helps when your guide is so knowledgeable.

Colosseum Guided Tour with Roman Forum and Palatine hill
Excellent guide, informative and interesting without being dry! Easy to meet up with the tour company/guide. Good sound system so that you can hear the guide without strain. Security on the area comforting.

Alessandra lead an engaging and comprehensive tour of the Palentine hill and the forum. Her knowledge and love of history and of her home city allowed her to share deep insights into the Rome of today and yesterday. Thank you Alessandra for an excellent tour.

Anastasia was a great tour guide. She loves her city and it shows. She was very informative and has a passion for the history and significance of the Forum and Palatine Hill.

Her picture book also adds to the flavor and understanding of the area.

Would recommend, especially if you enjoy the history of the area.

We had an amazing experience today with Radu, our guide. He was very knowledgeable, but didn’t just recite facts and information. He was very much a storyteller, making the scenes and details of Roman life come alive. We were in a small group of only 8 people and Radu spent longer than the expected tour time. Great value and a most enjoyable and educational tour. Highly recommend Radu as a guide.

Paid £105 for two tickets for guided tour to Colloseum, roman forum and Palladium . All the other groups of about 25 people went off to start their tours leaving about 8 of us in our small group . It was quite noisy and the flimsy ear piece hung precariously on one ear . The sound quality was not great but when our guide, an Italian lady, started to speak her thick accent and constant umming and ahing made it impossible to understand a word she said . By the time we walked towards the entrance our small group were all looking totally bewildered. Myself , my son and another couple all said very politely we couldn't understand a word she was saying, she rang the organisers to say we were leaving the group as we were dissatisfied . My son and myself walked back to the meeting place assuming we would secure a later group , we were told it was fully booked and we were refused either our tickets back to go on our own or a refund. I was so upset and said it is unacceptable to have an English guide who speaks unintelligible English. He said no one else had complained about her !!? After refusing to refund us any money , We then had to join a queue for over an hour to buy more tickets to get in all three attractions, which ironically only cost 18 euros for both of us , as I got in free because it was international women's day . Funnily the city walkers had charged me full price ? It was our last day in Rome so we had no choice but to pay again. I am warning other people to not book with this company who made no effort to rectify our complaint and flatly refused a refund. The chap in charge was unhelpful and arrogant but we were determined we would not let this dreadful company ruin our holiday .

The guide was superb but I was massively put off as the City Walkers representative tried to get the headset back off me and said that we weren't on the tour after all. I had to argue with him that we had paid 39 euro each. He backed down and said it was a mistake but I would avoid City Walkers next time.

The accent made it difficult to understand the guide. If the tour covered history, I missed it. Either purchase a private tour or buy tickets with the audio guide. 2 thumbs down on the group tour.

I had specifically booked a tour that did NOT include the Colosseum as we had already done that and only wanted a tour of the Forum and Palatine Hill. Unfortantely we were put into a tour that did both. Since the main attraction of that group was to go into the Colosseum, the time in the Forum and Palatine Hill was a bit rushed as the rest of the tour wanted to get to the Colossuem.

Had the tour only been for the Forum and Palatine Hill, the experience would have been better.

David was the most knowledgeable, funny, and charming tour guide we have ever had. We will never forget all the important and fascinating facts he shared with us, along with the laughter. Not only did he relay incredible historical facts throughout the entire tour, he also managed to make us feel like we were really in Ancient Rome. Make sure you request david for ALL tours/sightseeing, we will always request him for our tours when we return to Rome! Thank you so much David!!

We were supposed to have a 105 minute tour that included the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Instead, we had a 60 min tour of mainly the Palatine Hill. The guide never explained the Roman Forum and we never went down for an explanation of this amazing site. So disappointing! We will never book with this company again! There are many many other tour providers that walk the ruins and have explanations in detail. Do those instead.

My boyfriend and I went on a guided tour of the roman forum, palatine hill and pantheon with David Battaglino during our long weekend in Rome. In comparison to other tours we had been on during our stay, David’s character and animation made his tour the most enjoyable and engaging. He also gave us honest and reliable advice and suggestions on other places to go, places to eat and places to avoid during our stay. We both highly recommend his tours and feel they are well worth the money.
